Re: E's Diary
Hi E
Something I am using for my hair.... I have an amazing hairdresser Denise. She gave/sold me a 3 month box of Kerastase Densifique capsules for hair thinning. They cost me $150. You put it on to your scalp before drying your hair. I tried it for maybe two months or so - people started telling me my hair looked good. I have thin hair at the best of times. I got lazy and stopped but i am going to use the remaining capsules from tomorrow. I kinda think they work, although they are expensive. I trust Denise. Her advice when I bought them was that some clients love it. For others they thought they couldn't see a difference. There is info on the Kerastase website. Just thought I should share in case hair stuff still worrying you.

CB,
I will try once I have entered maintenance. I got rid of the hair last week but I can see it is still falling out and nothing helps. Maybe time will help as I am not the most patient person on this planet. But thank you for the advise. I will purchase this in the very near future. |

Re: E's Diary
Hi EEE
Are you taking Zinc ? This is really good for helping your skin regaining its elasticity too. Once you finish the program you will have quiet a lot of loose wrinkly skin ( sorry but true ) and it will continue to tighten up over the following year. I love taking it , it really helped. Zinc deficiency Usually zinc deficiency is due to insufficient dietary intake. However, it may also be due to malabsorbtion and chronic illnesses such as diabetes, malignancy (cancer), liver disease, sickle cell disease. Signs of zinc deficiency include: |

Re: E's Diary
Hi E,
Great job so far!! Just on the hair loss topic - are you taking the Nails, Hair and Skin tablets twice a day? For me, my hair hasn't been in this good condition since starting Cohen's and/or taking these tablets. |

Re: E's Diary
Snowy,
When I had my gastric bypass I had the same problem and more but it was fixable with zinc. I am an expert on malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies and hair loss after 6 years of the gastric bypass. Now I take the hair & nail twice a day. Maybe it is too early to detect an improvement. Luckily with this heat, I don't mind the shorter hair. Good luck with yours! |

Re: E's Diary
So I am dragging myself to the pc as I am still on holidays till Monday and just enjoying the time with myself. No worries, no commitments and no rush whatsoever. This also means no stress and a lot of sleep.
I am just cruising along and very happy with the current body shaping as the cellulite is fading which I was really hoping to start sooner. Still having yoghurt for dinner and most definitely a difference in the weight and centimeters. I have absolutely no clothing for work due to the sudden melting in body fat. I went from 18 to 16 in weeks. And then 16 to 14 within 2 weeks later. But now 12 is just a little bit too tight and the 14 is hanging loose. Maybe Salvos or Vinnie's? I am light headed for the past 3 days. Checked the blood pressure and is all good. Today is worse than yesterday and the day before. Pharmacist finds nothing out of the ordinary, but will consult with my clinic on this today. I will catch up with each and every diary on Monday when I can focus and read all the juicy bits. |

Re: E's Diary
I've been visiting Good Sammies to keep up with the need for work clothes that fit. It seems just too silly to buy new clothes for just a couple of weeks. What a bargain they are too - what I've bought looks unused!

Re: E's Diary
Hi Elaine. I hope you're all better by now and that the iron deficiency meds did the trick! Your holidays are nearly finished and you will make a few heads spin on your return. Good luck for it all (and hopefully we can have nice little chat tomorrow at the other place...
Have a great Sunday! |

Re: E's Diary
You're doing so well Elaine!! Awesome awesome!
Just a quick note on the light headedness, I've also had bouts of being extremely light headed and feeling like I am going to faint when I stand up. When I mentioned it to my consultant she said to cut down on the water slightly and to add a little extra salt, even in my water. It will be interesting to see what advice you get from your clinic. I'm glad you've been relaxing and enjoying your holidays - gotta be good for the weight loss too |

Re: E's Diary
I am back at work and what a shocker! Traffic was hectic and to get up so early again... how I miss sleep ins.
Last week was horrendous. I felt light headed, dizzy nauseous and just not healthy. Went to check blood pressure at chemist and no problems. I kept going and by day 3 I couldn't take it anymore. I had a hand full of dried fruit and nuts and also 6 more crackers with vegemite. This made no improvement for the lightheadedness or nauseous and added 1.5kg to the scale the next morning. URGH! But after taking Vitamin B12 supplement, I felt much better. Consulted with my clinic and they think this is water related. I finally went to the GP and it was confirmed that I should not consume more than 2 Litres of water. I washed out all my vitamins and minerals. Again. So yeah, water is restricted to 2 Litres and nothing more. I take it slowly. Back on Cohens by Friday and stick to my eating plan 100% and with great success I shed the excess baggage caused by the deviation and feel much better. I REALLY FOUND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET BACK ON TRACK AFTER 1 DAY OF DEVIATION. IT WAS HELL. I take my hat off to all you girls that are back on CD 2nd and 3rd time. I had headaches for 2 days (sugar withdrawals), constipated and craved everything and anything. With a lot of determination and stubbornness, I just kept my head down and focused. But I made it. Thanks to all the support from everybody. YOU ROCK! Thursday is my 16 week weigh in at the clinic and blood tests. Have an awesome week! I will try to catch up on each diary this week. Re: E's Diary
Hi Eee
So sorry you have been feeling not well lately. Yes too much water can actually kill you. Literally like drowning your brain in water. Take care and take it easy. The sudden weight increase will come away very quickly, as it should only be water weight. You can see from the slight deviation why it is so important to get to goal, re feed and slowly increase portions and food combinations again and find a balance to maintain. All the best and take care of your health first and for most . Helen |

Re: E's Diary
Tes, I take the Neurobion and they are wonderful. Even when studying as a supplement. It contains a certain ingredient that helps with preventing Alzheimer's as well. I happen to have left from back in 2012 when I immigrated. You can buy them over the counter at the back of Dischem Pharmacies.

Re: E's Diary
What a week, what a challenge. But like it goes, if it does not challenge you, it does not change you.
Felt sick last week and thought it was blood pressure and to my own stupidity, I deviated. It was a week of detox, cravings and groaning but I got through. I takes 7 days to get over the sugar withdrawals, water retention and headaches. Never again. After 336 Cohen meals, I weighed in at 23.8 kg and 85 cm less at the Clinic this morning. 16 Weeks later with an average loss of 1.48kg per week. I am happy with this and more determined to lose the rest. Actually more excited and looking forward to RF and maintenance. I am allowed 2 Litres of water a day and nothing more. I keep flushing out my minerals, vitamins and electrolytes, irrespective if I sip, slurp, snort, drink or gulp the water. My system can’t handle the volume above 2L. This causes me to be very sick, dizzy, drunk and there is not even alcohol involved. The lesser than 3L water does not affect my weight loss and the clinic is happy with this. My malfunctioning wardrobe is on its bare bones as the shrinkage happens weekly and it is of no use to invest in new clothes. Been looking around for second hands and so far nothing that is my taste. I will give it another 2 weeks and start on size 12’s by the current weight loss speed. I deleted my photo album with my weekly shots and will fix it up and replace it tomorrow with the latest shots, compliments of my 9-year old photographer. She always make me giggle and laugh when I am so not keen for a photo. Motto for this week: You don’t get what you want. You get what you work for. Last edited by EEEE; 12-02-2015 at 16:21. |

Re: E's Diary
Love the motto E, yes we really learn about our selves and our bodies on Cohen's. What is acceptable for our personal selves and what we really can't tolerate. You will love re feed and maintenance with the new you being super slim and feeling great.

Hi E
I'm so proud of you lady! You seem stoked and you are close to the end!!! Love the motto it is so true. At the moment staying OP for me is sheer willpower and nothing else, my hearts just not in it. So temptations are hitting me hard and fast, however I do take comfort from reading your and other diaries, thanks for sharing
