Hi s2bs,

Wow! congratulations on your weight loss of 9.5 kilos. That is amazing. Well done. You must be very proud of yourself.

Seems like you are getting along just fine. Keep up the great work. Your ticker is moving along very nicely. You will be at goal much sooner than you realise.

Thanks for your comments ME and Chew Chew. Only someone who has had to lose weight understands what daily struggles we face and the numerous temptations we say no to and how much the support of fellow "losers" means. Thank you.

Oh the mind games we play with ourselves! I have been in a few situations at work recently where someone has actively tried to get me to eat junk food, holding it out to me and saying "have some" but I just kept refusing. I had absolutely no desire to eat any of it, inwardly gagging at the thought, but in some small way I've also had thoughts of deviating - just one small taste of xxx. I've had a few hungry days too but luckily have been easily distracted or been able to fill up on water and the hungries soon disappear. Needless to say, I have entertained these thoughts of something "nice" to eat when in my heart I know they aren't "nice" at all and will put my weight losing body into reverse.

I wonder now if it's almost like dreaming of deviating (I never had those dreams last time) because the mind is consumed with eating the right foods all the time. Whatever it is, it's not because of the hungries that I have these thoughts, it's because of how the food would taste ...... old habits die hard I guess.

Anyway, I managed 2.5 litres of water yesterday, which is a little more than I have been drinking, so I'm going to aim for the same today.

I can so relate to your last post regarding the thoughts of deviating. I had tons of entries about those when I was in my good zone. Wondering what would happen if I did, blah blah blah.. but not necessarily hungry for the food outside the plan.. just curious..

Other members told me not to start deviating bec its the start of everything that could make u lose control.. and how true that was.. so Im telling u the same thing.. dont! I know u wont, but still.. dont! coz as per my experience, the call of old habits gain strength everytime you indulge it.

good day!

Hi s2bs

So know what you mean about the bad thoughts of deviating, I've even had dreams of eating bad food. I've woken up all stressed. hahaha that was quite funny for my partner to watch at 5am!! I've also had the hungries this week, was a bit odd for me as it has been the hungriest since I started. Good on you for saying no to all the bad foods. It is definitely something t be proud of, as a few months ago we wouldn't even hesitate to eat it.

Keep up the great work, we will both be at goal and feeling absolutely wonderful soon!!

God night s2bs. xoxo

Thank you ME, AZ and Chew Chew ....... I have no intention of deviating but it is very comforting to know you are watching out for me and making sure I don't eat off plan. Thank you xxx

In the meantime I've managed all my water again but also having dizzy spells and a bit of weakness at work. It's nothing serious, just a touch of ketosis I think as I have a funny taste in my mouth too as well as other related symptoms. It should pass soon but hopefully it will mean a big loss this week

Feeling good today. Loving the transformation I can see happening and while I still have a long way to go, 10kg down has already made a huge difference.

My work pants are almost at the point of being too loose but I'm loving the feeling of "air" between my leg and the material. Obviously no one has noticed the weight loss yet and if they have they haven't said anything but I'm enjoying not having the attention and the fact that my weight loss is like my little secret Silly, I know, but this achievement is mine and I'm not ready to share it yet.

I'm still avoiding temptation in the staff room every day with bowls of chocolates, nuts, nibble mix, biscuits and muffins on offer. Sometimes all and sometimes a few of the above. Of course, there is also a bowl of fruit but the fruit on offer is bananas and grapes or fruit I have already taken to work with me for my Cohens meal. However, every time I resist the temptations it's like a mini victory for me and when I come to eat my Cohens meal I enjoy every mouthful instead of just guzzling untold mountains of other foods which hardly even touch sides, like I used to do.

Great attitude, absolutely isn't it so much nicer to sit down and enjoy your food rather than just throwing anything in your mouth. I really enjoy eating like this, and I try to be very conscious of it as this is certainly the way of eating that I need to LEARN, for the rest of my life, if I want to keep staying slim.

Regarding the weight loss, I'm actually craving for someone to notice my weight loss but I get nothing. And I know why. I have a friend who lost a fair bit of weight, we never talked about it until she had finished. And I never commented until she had lost that much weight that is was just so obvious. And the reason I didn't was because in the beginning it looked like she was loosing weight but because she didn't say anything, I felt too embarrassed to say anything either. I thought maybe she should just be left alone and then see how it goes. And now I'm doing exactly the same, I don't say anything to anyone either but once I'm in that obvious stage and my friends have no other choice than to comment, then I'll be thrilled to tell everyone Oh how I can't wait to get to that point...

You're doing so brilliantly!!! Keep it up and really take this time to learn things about yourself so that you will never have to do this again. I'll be in Perth in a years time for a visit and I reckon we should catch up for a class of bubbly to celebrate our new bodies in maintenance

HI Soon2bSlim
Just had a read through your diary to catch up on your journey to date, and congratulations on all of your weight loss attempts!
Regarding people commenting on your weight loss, I am sure people have started to notice, but funny thing about us woman, we usually don't mention things to others about THEIR weight loss... Perhaps out of envy, jealousy or even guilt. Trust me though when I tell you, when you are around 10kg's from goal, but even more so at the point of 5kgs from goal, it's as if every half kilo makes a HUGE difference and the resizing and reshaping of your body is happening on a daily scale and its incredible!
Hope you're having a great DF day!

Thanks for your posts Soleil and SD. It's interesting how we differ on reactions to our weight loss. I'm sure as I get closer to goal I will be happy to chat about it to everyone! I just remember though, last time I was at goal I got unwanted attention from a few people and while they meant well, it made me uncomfortable. It's something I will have to come to terms with. In the meantime I'm really looking forward to being skinny again.

Absolutely Soleil! We will have to meet when you come back to Perth!

Thanks SD, yes, another DF day and I drank all my water too!!

Seven weeks completed 100% deviation free and a nice drop of 1.3kg this week. Yay! It makes up for the small drop last week and I have definitely felt some tightening up of the loose skin that was starting to appear, which I'm happy about.

It is our 29th wedding anniversary next weekend and we have decided to go away without the 'kids' (the youngest is already 1 which is going to be interesting. We haven't been anywhere, not even for a weekend, for years and years so I'm looking forward to it. My plan is to take my Cohens food (not sure if I should make the meals before I go or take the raw ingredients and put it together there) and hubby can eat whatever ... We will be in a place with a kitchenette so it should be easy enough to prepare something Cohen friendly.

It's a public holiday in WA so I've had a lazy morning so far but will be heading to work later ... gotta love holiday pay rates! Today's pay should just about pay for the weekend away

Onwards and downwards!

Thank you for your comments AZ and SD

I received a new manuscript for proofreading yesterday and while the topic is anything but weight loss, one phrase stood out for me as it seems to fit in perfectly with what we are trying to achieve through Cohens.

"Just follow the plan, maintain your new habits and you will be rewarded."

It is so simple! We get so wound up in all the emotional and physical aspects of this weight loss journey but if we just followed the plan and maintained our new habits we would be rewarded!

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to read diaries of people who deviate from their plan and post about it, obviously needing help and encouragement, but it affects how I think about my plan and my purpose and commitment to be 100% deviation free. This was my downfall the last time I did Cohens and I don't want it to be again. Last time, diary after diary was filled with stories of deviations and in the end I gave up. No wonder I put all the weight back on!

I don't want it to be like that again. I need to finish this, do refeed and maintain.

For any deviators who happen to read my diary, please don't be offended if I don't comment in yours after you have deviated. It's not that I don't want to support you and encourage you, it's just that I need to remain strong for me and for my journey and reading of deviations is my danger zone so I will be avoiding them for the most part.

Anyway, I just wanted to note the above phrase in my diary for future reference.

I love that quote!!! If you don't mind, I would love to add it to my signature as well? I find it just so simple and true and inspiring.

What a great week you've had with the weight loss and a huge congratulations on your wedding anniversary, the more years, the more special I think...

I'm with you till the end, me too I need to (and will) get to refeed and then maintain. This is the easy part now, watching the weight drop as we are 100% committed. Let's feel healthy, full of life and learn, learn, learn, learn about our selves, our bodies so that we have all the tools to do this right in maintenance too, for life.

Thanks for visiting my diary everyone and for your kind comments

Soleil, feel free to use the quote in your signature! As I said, it's one I read in a book so I can't claim it as mine but it is definitely appropriate for us all

I'm so glad to have someone who is also staying 100% on plan and will see this journey through to the end with me, thanks Soleil. I've just been reading in your diary and wow! I love what you've achieved in your first 4 weeks!

AZ, I will keep following your progress and visiting your diary. It's only in the last little while that you've struggled and I can handle that, it's just the diaries of people who habitually deviate and "get back on the bus" every day that wear my resolve down. Before I signed up for a new plan on Cohens I was doing the same thing, start almost every Monday but by Tuesday I was saying, I will start again on Monday ........ I know how hard it is. I procrastinated way too long with that mentality and I don't need the guilt feelings that go with it. My head is in the right place now and I'm losing weight and avoiding temptation and I don't want to lose that.

I do totally empathise with the deviators but need to stay strong for me.

Happy losing everyone

Hi S2BS... I can completely understand your comments above. I feel EXACTLY the same way you do. My heart goes out to those who are battling, and I wish I could help them to stop their deviating ways and realise the damage that they are doing not only to their bodies and mental state, but mainly that if they keep going down that route, eventually their EP will stop being so effective (I believe).... I know how they feel, ALL TO WELL, and its a dreadful state of mind to be in, but right now, at this point in my journey, I cannot handle an over flow of negativity and I don't believe that we are here to "support" each other to deviate. In fact, I believe that a tough love approach should be taken! Yes an unintentional deviation is a complete different thing - I did that once where I had too many crackers, after forgetting i used them in my meal AND then ate two after my meal, completely forgetting my allowance was over... But literally deciding to pick up that forbidden food and then going off the rails completely is a conscious choice that one make and one shouldn't be "supported" in those times.... Sorry now I have hijacked your diary and I sound EXTREMELY harsh

I am glad to see that throughout, you are staying strong and as positive as possible, and I admire you for this!
Before you know it, you will be at the half way mark and then on the downward slop towards goal, and I am excited to follow your journey!

Happy losing!
