Thanks guys

Someone told me I must be so brave for getting this surgery, the other day............

To me every person on this forum is brave - brave enough to start the journey and brave enough every day to continue it.

All I'm doing is tidying up the loose ends so the journey can continue for the rest of my life - one day at a time. And how lucky am I to have all your support. It means the world to me.

Have a great weekend

Sharon

Hi

Well I have to ring today and find out exactly but the cost of my surgery has increased heaps since seeing the surgeon, because he is really doing an extra procedure.

I came home after a stressful day at work to find the new quote and was so upset. My beautiful hubby just went "don't worry about it - money is not as important" - he is a love.

It has put a little damper on it - but onwards and UPWARDS (sorry little play on words there).

I'll call them today to confirm. Have a good day

Sharon

Yeah Sharon you have a great hubbie there. You know the cost will always go up the more you delay, so best to get it done now and then you don't have to worry about it anymore.. You have worked so hard.. I hope it all goes well and I am looking forward to the details.. WOW 2 kilos of skin, is he leaving you any left? (just kidding)

hi everyone

Have rethought my surgery and have now decided to go with the tummy tuck and breast lift only - no implants. There are many reasons for this - length of the surgery is longer with implants, costs are much much higher, I can be a B cup and then in 12 months decide if I really want to go to a C cup(gives me choices) Recovery should be a little better without the implants.

Anyway I feel so comfortable with my revised decision - I had to weigh up everything and make sure I was having the surgery for all the right reasons. I am going to get rid of the excess skin on both my belly and boobs and have perky B cups. Could a girl really ask for more than that.....

The cost of the surgery did come into it a bit in the end- although hubby was happy for me to do it - I have two kids that go to private schools and do lots of extra activities and would hate for me to think in the future - OMG Where are we going to find money for ..........and then realise it is hard because I spent so much money just on having bigger boobs. This way I don't have to feel guilty for spending so much money and I truly think I will be so happy with my perky b's that I won't give it a second thought.

In the end I know I am making the right decision for me, my family, my health (who needs implants if you can get away without them) and also for my finances.

So now I slept really well last night - a big indicator that this is the right decision.

Only 70 days to go.....

Have a good one
Sharon

Hi there

It is 60 days until my surgery- wow that seems to be going quickly.

Haven't been in here for a while but everything is going well and am starting to plan for the recovery phase. I cleared out the kids bedrooms during Easter and they MUST keep them clean so that Dad can find things when I am out for the count.

I have the day before off so I think I might take the kids to the movies that afternoon to have some fun with them before I can't for a while.

Must get hubby to take some before photos.

Have a great week
Cheers

Hi Aj

I have taken 5 weeks off work, and I'm told that I won't be able to walk up straight for about 3 of those. You have to wear compression garments for a few months I think.

I've got hubby all ready to do EVERYTHING for me - even take the kids to gymnastics.

Have a great day

Thank heavens for those wonderful husbands, Sharon. I broke my ankle a few years ago, and needed help with everything. I don't know what I would have done without my wonderful husband.

Hopefully, he'll realise there are some things he can do that he's never done before, and keep doing them for you

Hee Hee AJ

I might start a list - only I don't have an hour. And Asy will probably smack me for taking up too much space on the thread for such a list.

Let's start with ...........cleaning the toliet, washing and brushing my daughters hair, making school lunches etc etc.

He is pretty good but it will be hard work for him- while I lay on the recliner.

I think I might find it a little frustrating - I might find out that I really am a control freak......

Have a good one

Hi Sharon and good to catch up on your diary my love! So glad all is working out for you even tho the cost has gone up, hmm. Pity about that.

Anyway, i have found now, my weight can go up and down by around 3kg and unfortunatley for me, ALL 3kg goes straight to my belly! Some days i wish i could join you with surgery (boobs ok just tum) but alas, i seem destined to have to work at maintaining a very low weight on the scales!

Mind you, maybe if / when i get a windfall, i can follow in your footsteps! Sometimes i do wonder if i am making it hard on myself as i was accepted as a candidate for medicare surgery (apronectomy) in 2001 when i was 8kg heavier than i am now and that was based on how obsessive i was with dieting so based on psychological reasons. I lost a few kilos then so didnt proceed. Perhaps i can look into that once my one year at goal is up! Or see how i look then anway! Sorry for rambling, its just always been an issue for me, even as a teen i had a flabby tum! Pandora
