My consultant told me to drink 1 litre per 25 kgs of body weight, Louise. Andy has a poll running on what people are drinking in the way of water in the Polls board.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Thanks AJ, that means I have to drink over 3 litres- are people managing that? What is the theory behind such a large amount - is it to fill us up so we are not hungry or does it help shift the fat more quickly does anyone know??

thank you for sharing your knowledge

Louise

Louise,

The program burns fat. When fat is metabolised, it releases stored toxins in the fatty deposits. These are removed from the body via the Kidneys & liver, hence the periodic blood tests to monitor these organs functions.

Heavier people with more weight to lose tend to lose faster in the early days when they have lots to lose. By basing your water consumption (which shouldn't be less than 2 to 3 liters a day anyway) on 1 litre per 25kg it should be enough to keep the toxins flushed from your system. As you lose weight, you can drop your comsumption accordingly but always keeping to a minimum of 2 liters anyway. (It also helps to fill you up but normally that isn't really necessary except for some people who use physical feelings to think that they are full (e.g., bloated stomach from too much inside).

Hi,

ive just joined this forum to get some extra tips and recipes,

my bf actually does cohens, i cook for him so i just eat what he eats.

we did it for 3 months earlier in the year i lost 16 kg, he lost 25kg

he also did it before i met him and lost well over 50kg. he put a bit of it back on after he met me. as i was unaware of the whole cohens thing. so i kinda took him off track..

we are just starting it back up again strictly, so im looking for some recipe inspiration. im a chef. so my bf is enjoying what i cook for him.. i just want to keep it interesting and varied.

ive lost 2.5kg this week... which is great... cohens is great.. apart from not snacking on stuff. you wouldnt even know that you are on a diet.

anyway, ive already found some interesting stuff on the forum.. so well done on creating such a great network.

look forward to finding out more.

missy C

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Cohens. Just got my programme a few days ago and haven't officially started yet. It's a bit scary to stop eating what i'm used to - rice, noodles, fast food, etc Anyway, i'll try my best to stick to my eating plan and lose as much weight as i can. It's great to read and share on this forum...

Welcome, Wei. Start a diary, post often and you'll get all the support and encouragement you need along the way. Good luck.

Welcome, Rue. As Jenny said, start a diary, get a ticker (instructions are here http://newyouforum.com/forum/showpos...45&postcount=5) and post regularly. Use your diary to put down your thoughts. It's mainly for you, but others will read it and support and encourage you.

Default Which clinic?

I have heard about this forum and been told it is very good.

I am about to enrol but do not know which clinic to go to. I am about half way between Gold Coast and Brisb time wise and distance and not sure where to go.

If there is any customers from both clinics could give me a run down of which clinic would be more suitable and why, that would be great.

Hi toocurvy,

Set up a Diary thread for yourself, and ask in there. I can't help you (and, if I did, I might be biased )....

I've heard good words of both Brisbane and Gold Coast - so maybe it really doesn't matter that much - I mean, if you're HERE, you're in good hands anyway

Nah, I'm being flippant - but do set up a diary as MANY frequent that area, so answers will come thick and fast in there,

Koh

Hi
I am getting really frustrated with setting up my personal diary. You say to go to the 'personal diaries forum' but where is this? I think I have clicked on every button on the site and no luck. Help!!

Hi Zammit,

Click on the link below - it explains things pretty good I think.

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showpos...70&postcount=6

If you have problems though, DO keep asking - it may be that WE may need to add a bit more helpful instruction somewhere. So, ANY feedback is GOOD !!!

Thanks for your patience,

Koh

Any chance of an extra button, Koh? I realised that I get to the main board by clicking either the link I've added to my browser (no help to anyone else), or the New You Forums link which is top left on every screen, but not obvious to newbies. I can't see any other way of getting to the main board either with a quick look.

Hi AJ,

Hmm, good point - I guess I'm just so used to this style, I don't see a problem....

They can click on the colourful stuff right at the top - the "New You Forum" banner thing - does the same thing.... Probably the easiest way really.
