Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I had 35kg to lose and I am nearly half way. Now on 16.6 lost and people are already telling me that I don't need to lose anymore yeah right. Imagine what they are going to say when I weigh 68kg.
My blood pressure has stabilised and the doc is slowly taking me off it. I am drinking a half a tablet now everyday and I think this has to do with my dizziness. I am seeing her next week so hopefully I can come off it soon. And a big one for me. I was drinking pain pills on a daily basis and this has all but stopped. I only drink them now if my back hurts to much which is not that often. I think I was addicted to pain pills as I could not go through a day without taking them. I have never admited this before but can now see that it was becoming a huge problem. Cohens has saved my life in so many ways. Snoring has stopped. My partner has also lost 10kg. Can play with my dogs and not just sit on the couch and eat and complain I am tired all the time. No more knee pain at night. Saving so much money that I used to spend on take out (my fund for my new clothes is growing. I have not bought anything new yet but will have to soon). Had a op 3 years ago and used to have severe pain on the scar. This has gone. Sleeping fantastically. People telling me I look taller. Losing my 3 chins On the down side Back pain Having a bit of a skin issue on my face at the moment but hope it will clear soon. I read in one of the threads, and I think it was AJ, who said to use Bio Oil. I have started this and my turkey neck is looking much better already. Started using it on my face and hope the blotches will clear as well. THANKS AJ!! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Oh, new additions to this thread:
1) Being called 'thin' - gosh I've never ever heard or smell that word anywhere near me before in my entire life. 2) People begin to take you seriously because we are darn determined to lose weight! 3) Can choose fashionable clothes over just clothes! 4) Love my 'enlarged' personal space everywhere I sit. 5) Suddenly people are telling me I can afford to eat more than less. 6) Cross my legs as long as I want. 7) People calling me beautiful hahahah - why must beautiful always be associated with slim / thin? Have guys looking more this way than away hahahah - hubby's turn to get worried :P 9) Don't have to worry salesgirls telling me nothing fits... cos everything fits! 10) I can buy special bargains - usually only for small sizes yipeeeee!!! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
oh my goodness, I second all of the above!
Top highlights for me are: - crossing my legs - not feeling like my chest is going to cave in on me when I'm in bed at night (I hear you Nicole!) - Not being embarrassed to walk into stores - no-one is standing there looking at me thinking, 'your too fat for everything in this store, and your making us look bad, leave now!' - Having people notice me when I'm walking down the street - Not being anxious of seeing people when I'm out - Not feeling like I can't go out, as I didn't want to be seen as a huge heffa - Having more room in seats, and not feeling like I'm going to get in a seat and perhaps stand up with it stuck to my bum! Ahh, the list goes on and on... I love this program! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Oh yes!
Not having my fats overpouring to someone else's seat on the train / airplane seat. Not having to feel that I'm the cause of the overload alarm in a lift. Not having someone telling me my weight broke the chair but instead, the chair is of a bad quality! hahaha so so true! Less fearful (still fearful) of the weighing scale! Every piece of clothes looks good on me! Tight fitting clothes are finally in the shelves / wardrobe. Loose ones have to go in the big huge piles! |

Just a "bump" as I refer another new reader to it... It's too good a thread to just stagnate !!

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Hey Koh thanks for bumping this thread..Its got me thinking.....
Some of the more personal feelings being 20+kg lighter... Not feeling guilty around food. When I am eating unhealthy food I tend to always not feel satisfied even though I initially think mmm yummo! I love sitting down with a healthy meal. Food for me has been a punishment really, rather than a enjoyment. I grew up on a farm with parents that ate things from scratch, and that is what I am really all about.. So well less guilt in my head has definately given myself more time to think and plan about the more important things in my life. - Love just fitting into my jeans and feeling comfy in them even when i am slouching around..Cliche one but a big one for me... -At the gym the odd time I have gone seeing my muscles actually work rather than the fat that surrounds them jiggle. -Let me think... Okay another cliche one but when sitting on the plane the belt fits okay and that my arms arent sticking into the people beside me cause I dont fit in the chair properly... - Well the most important is that I may not of been considered for surgery with my back if I was at the weight when I first started and well how much worse may my back be I dont know.. Okay thats just got my rocks in my head thinking about how I feel with the kgs gone and what benefits I have achieved.. Oh one last thing... No rubbing of thighs together to wear out the jeans and yippee I can wear skirts this summer has my legs wont hurt thighs touching thighs... And can I mention not stressing if I am going to have diabetes and or heart disease which runs in my family....Even though they are/were healthy fit people.. More worse for me that my bmi was off the chart.... Okay over and out thats enough for me for now...

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Oh, new additions to this thread:
I am adding in some of my latest discoveries:- 1) Being able to cross one leg over the other without hitting into anyone. 2) Emerging hollows in between two thighs. 3) Face don't look that meaty and features are sharper in contrast 4) Eyes are clearer and brighter. 5) My smile gets brighter. 6) I can use my thumb and middle finger to wrap around my other hand's wrist easily. I think I can start wearing bracelets or bangles!!! 7) Finally seeing my flappy butterfly upper arms shrinking. Shoulders are more define and look great in fitting tees. 9 ) Shorts do not keep running up against gravity because the inner thighs no longer rub against each other. 10) Fingers looking more dainty as they are leaner now.

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I love this thread- great things are happening. I can see my toes, and my husband says I am much more cheerful now. But the hair loss does worry me- will it really grow back after I go off the diet? I admit I would rather be bald and slim than fat and thick-haired. But if possible, I'd like to have a slim body and a full head of hair, please! Also, I have developed these terrible bags under my eyes.

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I was previously taking 100mcg of Thyroxine a day for hypothyroidism. My dose has reduced to 75mcg for the moment, to be reviewed again in another 4-6 weeks.
Feel ordinary at the moment because of the hormonal overload but it is a great thing to know that I dont need as much medication anymore. I will keep you posted as to whether it is due to me being smaller, or whether my thyroid has decided to resume working properly again. That is a little uncertain at the moment- but either way, long term, it is a win. |
