Me too Wendy! And keeping it for more than a nanosecond!

I have done some serious soul searching, not new for me and I realised that two years ago when I was last op, I reached my lowest weight. I felt really thin, was being told not to lose anymore etc and then I got sick which lead to my only deviation on plan. Looking back, if I could have been okayed for refeed after the days needed back on plan it would have made a huge difference. My official goal weight was still 8-10 kgs away. So, I seriously stumbled, enough so I knew I couldn’t do refeed. I had lost over 35kgs and felt like I failed.

So I have learnt to be kinder to myself. My lowest weight then was enough and it is my new goal now. I did it then so I know I can do it again but with refeed and maintaining, both of which will be new for me. So, I want to keep my new goal weight, make sense.

Take care
Jen

Hi Jen, How's it going with you?
Losing over 35kg is not a failure, it's remarkable, feel proud!
Glad that you will be kinder on yourself - and giving yourself a goal that makes you feel good - makes sense to me.
I did reseed but just lost it when it cam to maintenance, so that's my challenge this time, is keeping the weight off long term. Guess it's just about continual tracking and correcting the small gains that we inevitably put on naturally when going back to eating somewhat normally (although we know normal for us, isn't perhaps the same as normal for others). Just cutting out the really bad stuff but enjoying your food off plan should be good, whilst doing a couple of days cohen friendly if we find ourselves a 1kg up every now and again.
I'm determined to learn this time around. So IF i get to my goal, I know I have to put in as much effort in my prep as I would on the program.
Anyway, wishing you all the best getting to refeed.
Marc

Hi Marc, thank you

Don’t say if you get to goal, I have a feeling you’re going to do it.! And how are you going Wendy?

It seems silly now when I look back and think of what I did, I did do a great job, so I’m going to do it again. I’m about 90kgs atm and I know being in the 80s will make me much more motivated. I do like the routine I get with this plan.

Take care
Jen

My NYF Diary
Default Re: Findingme's Diary,

Hi FindingMe,

Had a quick read of your diary and I can totally relate to what you have gone through (or going through) in trying to get back on the bus. We all know its for our own good, but it is really tough. Sometimes, I dont know if its tough because it really is, or its tough because we are making it tough. I've had moments when I started then, I dont want to admit it, but I know at the back my mind-- I know this will work, and when I do it tomorrow, it will (then I deviate).. then it snowballs from there. And each defeat really doesn't help me because it feeds on the other reasons to deviate. It makes it so much harder to reign it back in.

But kudos to you and to us who keep trying. I've tried to get OP so many times, that I ask myself "arent you just fed up of trying? give it up!" But we cant really give up on ourselves can we?

Keep pushing and you (we) will get there!
