Hi AJ

Sorry to hear your retaining fluid again, but as we both know it seems to come off you on a regular basis, so i'm sure it will be gone tomorrow.

Good work on the bargain jumper, but dont go buying lots, coz before long you will need a completely new wardrobe, thanks for always posting in my diary AJ i love your input.

My NYF Diary
Smile Day 5, Week 19

I knew I was losing weight, even if the scales showed otherwise. Today the excess fluid has cleared away and I'm down 500 gms on my low of four days ago.

Sorry that I haven't been as regular in diaries lately. The weekend was busy, then the forum closed down on me last night. I hope to get back into the swing of it over the next couple of days. Once I get behind it takes a while to catch up again, and this new forum takes a bit of extra time while I work it out also.

Thanks, fit girl. My husband would be very happy if I did less. The problem is me committing to too much.

Thanks, Barb. Yes, I've been giving away clothes for a while now, the first time ever that I've done so. This last lot had a few that I was reluctant to lose, possibly because I'm happier about the way I look now. However, they'll be far too big when I get to goal, and I'm never coming back to this weight again.

Thanks, Connie. It's all gone today, plus some fat as well. Today's my winery day, so may be back tomorrow. At $2-$5 an item I can buy a lot of op shop clothes. There doesn't seem to be much in the next size down for me. Must be a lot of size 14s living around here, all op shopping.

Thanks, Stoddy. Great buys in op shops, particularly when you only expect to wear an item for a few weeks. The only thing that worries me is that I'll go somewhere wearing one of my distinctive 'new' items and someone will say that she used to have one just like that but gave it to the op shop.

Have a lovely day, everyone.

AJ

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi AJ,

Good to see the scales go in the right direction again.

You are right about the size 14 clothes - I think it would be the most common size these days. Hopefully that stubborn fat will move quickly for you so your in size 12.

cheers

With regard to the comments about losing too much weight - I got my first comment that I shouldn't lose any more after I'd lost 5kg. At that stage, I was still about 27kg away from the top of the normal weight range! I think it highlights how many of those comments are coming from the other person's issues about weight and body image, rather than anything to do with healthy size.

Hiya AJ - of COURSE you're losing weight! How could you doubt it *LOL* Great loss today - I'm so excited for you. I'm also a little jealous when I read about all the fun you're having in the "op shops" - I WISH we had shops like that. There used to be loads of them around when I was a kid, but haven't seen one over here in years! Happy shopping

AJ, my weekend was like yours, rather hectic. Few bruises but otherwise all right. It's good you are on the downhill slide again. You are most definitely on the right side of 20kg now!

My NYF Diary
Red face Day 6, Week 19

Same as yesterday. Not too busy yesterday, but still didn't manage too many toilet visits during the day, so some fluid's still there this morning. I'm hoping that means I did actually have a bit of a drop in the past 24 hours that will show when the fluid level goes back to normal. I did run the tape quickly around some problem spots and they're all less of a problem than they were last Friday

Another busy day, trying to fit everything in. Gym this morning, have to shop for a gift for a surprise birthday dinner tonight (voucher at the local dress store sounds good), set up a new computer and transfer old data for a client, clean out viruses and get info to set up a financial system for a second client, set up mail merge for a third, continue work on Excel macros for a fourth if time, then attend the surprise birthday dinner (local Chinese) tonight. That's my day, rather busier than usual with clients today.

I'm gradually finding my way around this new software. I can see some obvious advantages and understand the reasons for the change. However, in terms of how I was using the previous one, I have identified five things that are slower for me than the old one. Some I may be able to improve on with a bit more experience, others I don't think I can improve on. I am looking forward to being able to explore some of the new features if I ever have some extra time.

Good answer, Penny I can't wait to see me finish this either.

Very liberating to give away too big clothes, hexi. I've never done it before. Good to be past halfway too.

The fat is moving this week, Tuti. Every time I try on the too small clothes I'm amazed at how quickly I'm getting smaller.

I find that I'm looking at people quite differently now, LiM. Friends I once thought were slim (virtually all my friends are slim) I now see as needing to lose a few kilos.

Many people here are horrified at the idea of buying from an op shop, BFG. My cleaner seems to spend all her time in them, and complains to me about being 'ripped off' if she is charged $5 for items instead of $2-$3 that she thinks she should be paying I tell people that I will only be wearing a size for a few weeks and I have no intention of buying new clothes for each size.

Got my ticker back, Barb. It was there yesterday morning, had disappeared when I arrived home last night. Not sure what happened. I was pleased that the 500 gms was still gone this morning

Thanks, SMS. I'll be pleased to see that 21 kgs tick over, and get right past the halfway point. Actually, halfway is a bit vague. I think my range is actually going to take me to a bit more than 40 kgs, but I'll decide on the final goal when I get down there.

I've had difficulty keeping up with diaries over the past few days also, bitten. I got behind at the weekend, and catching up always takes a lot longer anyway, plus working out how to use the new software and getting it set up made reading all the diaries much slower initially. I'm hoping I'm nearly all set up now.

I hope everyone has a great day. I just love this new icon [set].

Hi AJ,

You sound like such a wiz on the computer you should be a forum moderator!! I think you are doing such a great job and it can be super frustrating when you don't see movement in the scales but I guess as the saying goes 'all good things to those who weight (haha)' I think that the forum will be invaluable in getting through the hard times in the middle but I also think you'll suddenly see a big difference in about 5kgs and then you'll be racing to the finish line.

Keep going cause you inspire all of us!

Talk soon, Steph x

So glad you're moving along this week AJ.
Sometimes I get this disturbing mental image of you and I sitting here on this forum in many years time with our rocking chairs and zimmer frames , putting comforting posts into everyone's diaries like ...
'Don't worry dear, lots of people have had problems with fluid across the years'
'Yes it's normal for some of us to jump erraticly up and down the scale'
'Some of us just lose a bit more slowly than others dear-y, try not to deviate '
'I am going for my 502nd week blood test and I am very hopeful'
Personally , I'm just hopeful my laptop will last the distance !!!

Hi AJ, just popping in to see how your doing. Your day makes me feel lazy. I had pottery this morning and then wnet to an op shop and then home to make lunch and do a little housework.
I found some great stuff at the Salvo's on the port H/Way. I even found kayla a pinafore and top to wear to my cousins engagement and now I just have to make a pair of leggings to match.
Hope your having a good day and didn't get drenched earlier.

So many pages to read in your diary!
First, well done on the under 20kg to loose - you must be super happy with that. I love how patient you are with your loss, again I need to tell you that you are a total inspiration.
And...I agree with everything else you have said that I have missed hehe.

You know AJ....if we're going to be stuck on this forum in a wheelchair why don't we make it a motorised one ? That should speed things up a bit .....one of those ones with a flag at the back....the oldies that get around on them are usually maniacal drivers....we've got one down at our local shopping centre who 'takes people out' on a regular basis.....just mows 'em down and keeps going .....do you like THAT image ???
