Re: 100% Cohens Challenge...
I'm in as well, just read the whole thread so I think I know how it works. Day 6 for me today and deviation free. I'd love a real mango but a dancing one will be just as exciting, bring on the 16th.

Re: 100% Cohens Challenge...
Here we go. I'm feeling a little shaky today emotionally but I'm really firm in my conviction to do this. I have a question, I have to go to a work dinner next Thursday, I've pre ordered a small serve of steamed fish and a small salad but I'm thinking would I be better off just to eat my dinner before I go? I won't be able to weigh the food at the restaurant.
thanks Loulou

Re: 100% Cohens Challenge...
Hey Trips,
Last fortnight's challenge I went 100% all the way! Unfortunately, count me out of this fortnights challenge as hubby's birthday is coming up and we are going away for the weekend. Im going to try to stick to Cohens food as much as possible (and will be taking most of my own food) but still there will be at least one dinner that I dont know how I will go with. Good luck everyone! Nat |

Re: 100% Cohens Challenge...
Hi all,
And congratulations to those of you who have just completed the previous 2 week challenge!! So far I have Nat and Myself. BUT WELL DONE EVERYONE!!! If you can let me know your results here or via email I'll let you all know who has gained a MANGO!! Today is also the start of the next 2 week challenge! Can't wait to see you all successful!!! Lucylou, in regards to your question, I'd think it would definately be a better idea to eat beforehand (if you can) rather than 'guess' at quantities. Technically, that would have to be classed as a deviation otherwise, because the EXACT amounts are just as important as the food itself! And Nat, hope you and hubby have a WONDERFUL birthday weekend away! I'm sure you'll think of some ways to counteract any food deviations! Will look forward to seeing you back here in the next fortnight! And drexyl you are blitzing ahead!!! YOU GO GIRLFRIEND!!! Today's thought is this.... The average pencil is seven inches long, with just a half-inch eraser -- in case you thought optimism was dead. Keep OPTIMISTIC EVERYONE!!!!! Much love, Trips xxxxxxxx |

Re: 100% Cohens Challenge...
Today's been tough, not that I've really been tempted to deviate, I've just been cranky at having to be on an eating plan. It's only Week 2 for me so I'm sure I'll be swinging all over the place emotionally for a while.
OK Trips, I'll let the boss know on Monday that I won't be eating anything at the swanky restaurant, I'll eat before I go and bear the questions of all my work colleagues. "Doctors orders" will be the answer. x Loulou

Re: 100% Cohens Challenge...
Is it possible to join for 5 days? Or is this a 2 weekly thing?
I don't need to be on program for 2 weeks but surely do need a boost to keep deviation free for the 5 days....

Re: 100% Cohens Challenge...
Great going girls and keep up the wonderful work!! Weekends are always tricky so you've done so well!!
Lucylou - I think that's the BEST decision you can make, and while the questions might be hard, this is something you need to do for you. In a few months those same friends will be asking for your secret and you can remind them of this night! Hang in there, the first few weeks are by far the worst in terms of emotions (well I found anyway) and you are doing TERRIFIC!!! Hexi - You are welcome here anytime gorgeous! We would love to support you over the next 5 days to stay deviation free - unfortunately you won't be able to recieve a mango for your efforts (that requires the 2 week commitment) however, if that isn't an issue for you, then please join us for the next few days, and I KNOW you can DO THIS!!! Today's thought is this: "Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful." Author: Joshua J. Marine We can all DO THIS!! Soldier onwards people!!! Much love today, Trips xxxxxxxxxxx |

Ok 3 days down deviation free - 2 more to go....
Thank god I haven't really gone through the detox this time other than being tired and going to bed really early... Just means I am up at 5:30am But the weight is shifting nicely...goes to show really. And it is amazing what a difference 2.2 kilos makes when you are close to goal..once again I am noticing the hip bones and bum bones...I can't imagine what I would be with another 3 or 4 kilos down (and no I am not planning on it)...just want to get back to 58 kilos....

Deviations - PLAN!
Gah! Planplanplanplan. Then check plan. Then check plan. Then check plan.
I have deviated I was staying with my sister over the weekend and I failed to buy enough chicken, hence, had to eat from the meal 2 options twice in one day. Not a biggie but a deviation nonetheless. Count me in for the next challenge. Tamma P.S. I feel great! |

Well I got through a whole day of work celebrations yesterday, a fully catered event for the opening of the new building and then the special dinner last night. I am a bit concerned that this new forum thinks I've been swearing about the restaurant we went to last night when in fact I was being complimentary!
Anyway I didn't touch any of the catered food and went to my meditation centre to mediate for an hour before the dinner. I arrived late and left just as they were serving dessert. Sparkling water and sparkling conversation were all that passed my lips. So half way there. Do we still get dancing mangoes? i don't see anything dancing on the new forum. x Loulou Edited in by Kohinoor: Thanks to your comment above, Lucylou, we have FIXED the problem with the "swearing" - and you can now say "swanky restaurant" without concern (all part of getting to know - and drive - this new forum the way we want it to go). We shot the censor....

Challenge Check In
Lucylou - FANTASTIC effort at the big event. You did so well. I'm so proud of you!! It's not easy to get through a night out, and you DID IT!!! Keep up the wonderful work! And yes, mangoes are most definately being given out to those who remain deviation-free. I will let you know next Friday who has been awarded them.
Tamma - I'm so glad you are feeling so good! And I'm sorry to hear of your deviation. It was a minor one though, and I'm sure you're positively back on track now. Look forward to having you join the next challenge on Friday 30th May 2008. Hexi - Hope things are going well hun, and you have completed the 5 days! I'm glad you didn't have a bad detox, and the weight is moving! I hear you on how much difference a few kilos can make towards the end, but then I guess it kinda makes sense, that when you don't have much to lose, it's going to make a bigger difference when you do lose it. Hope things are better for you and you are finding your groove on maintennace too. And that brings me to today's thought: "The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one." Author: Elbert Hubbard Let go of your fears everyone, and make life wonderful! Much love today, Trips xxxxxxx |

I had the strangest dream, I was putting together a meal using leftovers and there was some rice in the bowl I was eating out of. I ate a mouthful before I realised. My first thought was "Oh no now I won't be able to continue with the deviation free challenge." It made me laugh when I woke up. Luckily it was only a dream and I'm still deviation free, roll on Friday and the dancing mango.

Can i join in??
Hello Trips and the 100% deviation free challenge. Can I join in? Is today the start of a new 2 week challenge?
I have been on the program 100% since i went back to cohens clinic - so past 3 days so far and since i dont have much to lose (been at goal but gained a tad) its coming off slower than i expected! I am 1.4kg down in 3 days (I know i am expecting miracles!) but already i feel as if my body looks and feels slimmer, clothes loser, like i have lost more - so scales showing a lag time! Anyway, since i only have 4.6kg to go to my low end cohen goal of 52kg (i am 159cm) - this 2 weeks challenge will help maintain my focus. And well done to all on this challenge who have gone before and gained dancing mangoes! |
