Well done and well done! I'm happy for you!

Enjoy the trip and the t-shirt - ENJOY them really!

I know what you are saying about joy, happiness, countless events not lived because of obesity.

Not anymore! Never again!

What fish is up there? Hubby is a very keen fisherman [borders on obsessive] and has a great theory about fishing, solitude, thinking, philosophy etc. Unfortunately I'm not into fishing so we can't share this part of his life as much as he wants me to.

Welcome to the 80s!

I have been way too chicken to ask a butcher to mince some steak for me as I feel like they will look at me like Im an idiot but to hell with what they think meatballs sound delicious.

Congrats for making it to the 80s you deserve it!

Hi everyone - You guys ROCK! I consider myself lucky to have you popping in and leaving so much encouragement.

Rora you made me think -

I went back to work with my minced fillet steak story and got the same comment from The Watchers " never thought to ask to have the butcher mince whatever while I wait". If your butcher is not prepared to do this for you - don't shop there! (lucky we have a choice of three independent butchers!)

I went back to the butcher and asked if I gave them an order could they mince other products - chicken and different cuts and explained that I didn't want any fat or additives (cereals, herbs, flavouring) - of course they can just tell them what you want!

Which led me to think how many times do we just accept what is not really what we want because we don't want to be "difficult" and end up being disappointed in ourselves for not asking for what we really wanted!

I tried this in the fishing shop when I wanted a matching rod and reel - let the fishing guy know that it was important to me and hey presto - bit of mucking around but a matching rod and reel is going fishing with me this weekend!!!!!

So ask for what you really want, whatever that is - food products, support, or understanding while you are on your journey - and expect to get it!!!!!!!!!!.....take care over the weekend.........Caro

After all that tough talk I chickened out again at the butchers and stupidly got diet mince which I just read is very wrong , so I will go back to the butchers tomorrow and if they wont give me what I want I will go elsewhere.

I think working in the customer service industry picky customers can be an absolute nightmare so I try to be a good customer wherever I go even if it means not getting what I want. But tomorrow I will try to be a nice picky customer!!

Hi Caro

I hope you christened your much deserved fishing combo... we love fishing in our household!

I recently changed butchers as I asked for the butcher to mince up lean beef with minimum fat as I was on a strict diet from the doctor and the 2nd time around they gave me ordinary fatty mince and charged me the higher price

So I went to the neighbouring butcher and I asked him to mince beef with min fat and it was no problemo and the veal that I bought off him was absolutely the tenderest thing I have ever eaten yummo! So I know where I'll be ordering in the future!

Hi everyone, glad you are doing the butcher thing!

The fishing trip went great with two keepers caught on the new rod and reel, a threadfin salmon and a gorgeous barramundi! I snagged some of the prettiest catfish and a sawfish, which scared the bejesus out of me. I even baited my own hooks after a while, but couldn't gut the fish.............ewwwwwww.........

I packed my weekend food up and took brekky, lunch and snacks out on the boat and stayed strong while the boys broke out the nibbles and beer. At first my fantastic friend said he felt bad about eating and drinking when I couldn't, but I just said "eating what I eat is about me and it is my choice, snack away sunshine, but I will say no if you offer me anything" all sweet after that.

Then when we called in to have dinner with the a bunch of people where we were staying SO (love that man) bbq'd my meat up first thing before the barbie got greasy! I ate with everyone else and had one comment about being the only person with salad (all men!), they reckoned that it was because I was a girl and I was happy with that!

So if I can stay on programme out on a boat in the middle of a river, I can stay on it anywhere! The key is to be organised.........which makes me think about the old saying "We don't plan to fail, we fail to plan"!!!!!

So be as organised as you can it will help you to stay on your programme!!!!.....Caro!

Caro - you are AMAZING!!!

Well done!!! Unbelievable almost and really does ring true that if you really want something NOTHING can stand in your way. Organisation is key too!!! ANd you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO organised!! I know the fishing trip was well organised but do you usually plan a week or so in advance and then go day to day? (Have I asked this before???)

I PLAN (no pun intended) to get myself really organised so that I don't trip up either this week. Perhaps I should get started before I lose track of time reading away on here!!!

Have a GREAT week!!!

Cheers
Jade
P.S. been drinking Green tea with Peppermint - very nice!

Welll lunch today was AMAZING - I used some sizzle steaks (paper thin bbq steaks) and wrapped them around some fine chopped zucchini, cabbage and bok choy, then into the pan and cooked through.........heaven.........

And I bought a belt...........I can't remember the last time I wore a belt to hold up my pants......... I think that it needs an extra hole in between the current holes but the SO's comment " you won't need a halfway hole by the end of the week" and he's probably right.

Take care everyone ....................Caro

Good accidental idea with the frozen yogurt, glad you like the Jalna I love it I tried the yoplait but didnt find it as good and it has 2% fat. If you want it not as chunky mix it with a wisk. I even added a bit of coffee to mine this morning as I saw it on Shukis diary and it was nice for something different.

Good on you with the fishes I think a sawfish would scare the begesus out of me too!

We are both so close to the 70s how exciting!!

Wow, wow, wow - I am channelling the WH, looked in the mirror at my work pants and thought "Oh you honestly can't be wearing those to work" so back into the wardrobe for other pants and straight into the "outgrowing" pile for the old ones, this weekend I'm going to break out the next size down..........wish me luck!!!

Brekky this morning rocked, egg and salsa on crispbreads....my all time favourite, how can the day go badly with such a great start!

An interesting observation, I have noticed that the more weight I lose the less some of "The Watchers" stop to chat, but the more some other people have started to chat, I wonder if my "old me" was a little too hmmmmmmmm.......much.........

So as I am saying goodbye to the "old" me, I am embracing the new me, getting to know myself, meeting some new people, trying new things,I won't let myself down anymore, and no doubt there will be tears, shouting and laughing along the way but I'm looking forward to it........after all this is the quest for Caro..............

Rock on everyone!...........Caro
