Flew into rockhampton this morning. Staying in a hotel room, Had a nice room service meal while I worked - even cohen friendly.
Earlier I walked up to the supermarket to get some fruit and yoghurt - on my way back I had some fellow hang out the window of his 4wd and whistle at me - that took me by surprise, especially as it is considered so politically incorrect these days, then he stuck his head out the window and continue to stare as he went around a round about. That took me back! Ive been having fun trying to slice a mango and eat it with a teaspoon and a coffee cup- they dont equip hotel rooms very well, Fortunealty I managed to rescue a knife back off my dinner tray from outside the door to help. Anyway it tased nice! Jo, no problems with crocs and I hope it stays that way. I told my bf he has to start taking me out more often as I have some nice new dresses I need an excuse to wear, so he has agreed. Kay, its all going well but too hectic, Ive been up since the crack of dawn to catch a flight and Im exhausted after a full day of work after 3 hours of travelling and still more work to do in my hotel room. Cairns next week, hopefully a little more relaxing, the flood levels seem to be settling now, though we did have a quick flash flood at home yesterday- fortuneatley my house does not flood. Im going to try and rent a self contained appt next week in cairns so I can take my scales and everything and eat the same as if I was at home, so I can finally get moving on my refeed again. The funny thing is that now Im here its suddenly not so crucial as i know that once I get to maintenance I still have to stick to very similar eating or I will just put on the weight. Currently I am eating as if I was about halfway through refeed, so Im have a bit of extra fruit, vege and protein without going crazy. Im tending to mainly stick to the crackers. Its such a habit now to just eat this way and like Mette, Im a bit reluctant to change too much. I was so busy today just ruching from appointment to appointment that I missed lunch- very unusual. Have a great evening everyone |

Wow, you got whistled at! You must be looking hot!
I have no problem with men whistling at me, whistle away (although it's been so long I've forgotten what it sounds like...) You're being very sensible with your diet and I think it's extraordinary that you manage it despite being on the road and different places every few days. Have a great day Louise!

Hi Louise,
Wow i am impressed by how well you are doing given all the unusual circumstances. Bode's well for how you will handle maintenance. As you say this is really how we must eat as a base line if we want to keep the weight off - just how it is really. Not to say we can't have other celebration foods occassionally but that is what they are meant to be occassional foods - not everyday foods. Really in times gone by we used to eat much more simply, Now we, as a society are eating processed, celebratory foods every day. So well done - I think you are going to find your equilibrium with grace on maintenance. Shanara

Hi Louise
Wooo a wolf whistle. Bet that made ya smile inside. But can't be encouraging that sort of stuff. It's funny how people react to us now that we are in normal range. One flutter of the eyelashes get the guys running lololol. Not that I do that sort of stuff. Not me. Hope all is going well. You sound like you have the schedule from hell. From all your experience that wouldn't be any problem for you. Shall catch up soon Take care Katie |

Hey Louise
Sounds like you are a very very busy little girl at the moment, running around from city to city. Wolf whistles............from what I have seen honey you deserve them...........but they aren't very PC are they? Naughty chappies. Mustn't encourage them so take off that mini skirt and boob tube and put some proper clothes on. Good work on getting your fella to take you out.......I bet he wants to show you off anyway so of course he wouldn't complain, he will start marking his territory all over town soon. Must keep the wolves away from the door. (And the crocs). They are doing fund-raising at Alex's school at the moment for the fire and flood victims. I was sooooo happy to hear it was both and not just the fire victims. So many people forget that 60% of Queensland is under water at the moment. Take care and don't work tooooo hard Jo

Hi Louise!
Glad to hear you are travelling along ok and just resting in refeed at the moment. Yes, you are right, we have to eat like this pretty much for the rest of our days, and I have to say, I can handle it with the lovely burgen bread and lots of salad and protein on it! Very filling and satisfying! I'm also loving all the fruit! I used to be real slack on eating fruit before I did the program! Interesting you still got the wolf whistle when it is considered politically incorrect. You must have made a HUGE impact on the poor unsuspecting male!! But it's good to be appreciated! hehehehehehehe Hope your travels go well! Vee |

Thank-you Louise for your kind words, I have just ended my 1st official week on the program [one very happy girl!!!!] so am very excited about what the scales will be showing in a month's time!
Hope you are doing OK with all the flooding in the various part/s of Queensland that you travel to. I was speaking with my parents in central Qld yesterday and they are still needing rain on their cattle property..the falls have been very scattered in the Maranoa region lately, whatever happened to the general rain we used to get in the 70's and 80's?? must dash, work beckons... I've gone NO-WHERE and still deviated like a mad cow !!!! It's wonder that guy in the 4WD didn't have an accident !! LILY |

Just got back from Gladstone and had my room service - chicken and asparagus again- yummy. I was starving, they took forever with my meal, I think that made it taste twice as nice due to hunger! Its late and ive only had 750mls on water - the water bottle fell on the floor in the car where I couldnt reach it and I kept forgetting to retrieve it until I was doing 100kms on the highway, so now I have a lot to drink before bed! I met Skinnyminny and some of her friends for coffee - lovely to catch up, I hope I answered all your questions and helped with your decision to do cohens skinnie!
Thanks all you lovely guys for dropping by and continuing to support me. Lily, fortuneately I didnt cause any accidents- he may not have been THAT distracted. That did happen to a friend of mine once in Brisbane he ran into the back of another car whilst trying to get some girls attention. Eve, Im sorry to hear your parents havent had enough rain, we could have sent them some. It was certainly looking extremely green along the road between Rockhampton and gladstone, I was thinking how happy the cows must be. Vee did you ever read the childrens story about the family who went to the wise man because their house was too small? The book went on to see them advised to get a cat, a dog, a horse..........an elephant etc. Of course they kept going back saying no the house was still too small. Eventually he told them to get rid of all the animals. Of course then they were so relived and said that their house was "just right!" I sometimes think this diet is a bit like that. They have us eating so little, so that by the time we get back to some decent quantites of healthy food, we think it is just wonderful! We have been taught to appreciate the simple pleasures of simple healthy food! Jo, I promise I wasnt wearing a miniskirt and boob tube. I had a nice cool summer frock on that came right up to my neck (even loose fitting), just showed a bit of leg I guess. My bf comes from cyprus and I guess has witnessed a lot of moslem woman wearing their headcovering, he is not moslem, but he has suggested (in jest) that he wouldnt mind I wore one of them to keep other mens eyes off me -lol. Its nice to hear that Alexs school is doing some fundraising. I do really feel for those people who have lost members of their family, I can only imagine how they must be feeling. Katie, lovely to see you drop by from the land of refeed. I can just see you out there stopping traffic as you flutter your eyelids! Yeti the good thing with eating in restaurants is that they basically have the same ingredients as I have in my kitchen and how nice to get a chef to put them together for me. I really dont have too much trouble with restaurants- its just takeaway store I would probably have a bit of trouble with. I love to be pampered!!!! You know maybe it wasnt me that fellow was wolfwhisting, maybe he saw the yoghurt I was carrying and knew just how yummy it is and was showing his enthusiasm - maybe I could do a yoghurt commercial! Im looking forward to flying home tomorrow night - back to my own bed! I might go and cut up some mango before it gets too late - have a great night everyone Shanara, I was smiling as I read your post it made me think of the cookie monster who is now so politically correct that he has to tell the kids on sesame street that cookies are just sometimes food!!!! |

Louise, you should be asleep at that time of night! All good little Cohenites know that sleep is key! But then, I've been really tired the past few nights and been out like a light by 11. Sad really, I must be getting old!
Glad to hear you'll be home soon! It'll be good for you to be back in familiar surroundings. How are things with the floods at home for you at the moment?

Lol, I agree with you Mette! I must be really old then, cause I was out like a light by 9.30pm!
Louise, I can't say I've ever read that story, but I get the moral of it! And it's so true! I hope you got some good sleep in last night and that you were not too lonely on the forum all by your lonesome!!! Vee |

Poor Louise
No body to play with . I had to ask the hubby the other night if 8pm was too early for bed............his reply "Not for you honey, night night". I must admit that by the time I went upstairs and got changed and brushed the teeth and visited the loo and read for a while it was more like 9.30pm. It will be nice to keep adult hours again. Take care honey Jo

Hello all you lovely morning people - from the night owl. I wanted to sleep, it was just all that water I had to drink late at night that had other ideas.
Just having a bite of lunch before I get to the airport to catch my plane home..sigh...home sweet home..... Just got a great comment form one of my customers and he would not even have realised I would have taken it as a compliment. Remember our previous discussions about the boney butt club, it kind of fitted in with that! he was talking about some fellow and went on to describe him as scrawny - then he looked at me and said "about your size" I nearly laughed, I was so unaccustomed to such comments, but I said nothing, like I get that all the time - lol! Yeti you obviously left just a bit too early for me! Vee I am always trying to train myself to go to bed early and become a morning person, after all these years maybe I should just give up. Mette I compensate for the late nights by sleeping in when possible, thereby trying to comply with the guidelines. The rain seems to have settled this week, it will be a bit of a shock to the system when I have to put a sprinkler back on. I live near the beach so the ground dries out really quickly JO the funny thing is that I am the one that turns in early in my house, but early for me is different to early for you. Mind you by the time I watch a bit of TV it can ofte be midnight. Well the lunch I ordered just arrived with chips and about a teaspoon of salad- no chips were mentioned on the menu- oh well just protein it is I guess!Actually my angel and my devil were just having a discussion about the chips - but the angel won! Hi Louise!
Glad the angel won. Those chips would have been hard to resist, especially with the lack of salad!!! Loved the scrawny compliment!! I can just imagine you owning that!! Have a good trip home! Vee |

God you're strong. Here you are, looking fabulous, at goal weight pretty much, and you pass on the chips. You are my hero.
Actually, has potato been on your refeed? I haven't heard anyone talk about it... Scrawny is great, I'd take Scrawny too!!

How wonderful to be home, even if just for a few days- and even better still, it is not raining- no rain for 2 days.
Yeti towards the end of refeed they introduct small amounts of carbs and you have a choice between things like potato (not chips)e, etc. Vee compared to someone who is scrawny shows the diet has worked!! lol I bet your getting similar comments yourself these days! must keep working- have a great day everyone!
