Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I have been on blood pressure medication for 2 years. After about 2 weeks on Cohens I was getting dizzy a lot. I have bp machine so was checking and bp had dropped to 100/60. Wennt to Doc and she was wrapped and took me off the bp tabs. I need to check it twice a week. So good luck you should see a difference too. Cheers Bronny |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I was on HBP meds for a decade before starting the programme in Jan 08 (two meds kept it at around 138/90 (still high normal). I was also on cholesterol meds and allipurnol for gout for over 20 years. At the end of the programme my BP is now a very normal 110/70 unmedicated and the doc has stopped all my meds completely. For the first time in decades I'm completely pill free and have been for the past 15 months or so. This programme has probably given me an additional 20 years if I'm lucky!

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Hi Luuee,
AWESOME !!! And that happened for you in just 7 days Hope you have your seatbelt on, 'cos the benefits just keep on coming at ya !!! But then, you wouldn't be taking evasive action, so maybe you don't need your seatbelt I love this thread - the benefits are manifold, and they come from all directions. It's one of my most favourite threads as I get to see all the good that is happening (often unexpectedly). I can only start to imagine how good you must be feeling right now, Koh

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
hahaha koh puppy reminded me to drop my line here.
Well, I received my medical report yesterday. Never have I had such a glorious report of health that I can absolutely so hug and kiss myself for all the wonderful effort put in in the last 11 months. I simply cannot believe my eyes when I read the result. Most memorable of all is the line that reads "Your risk of getting heart related disease in the next 10 years is less than 10%". Wohoo! Can't be any healthier than this. I'm so glad that I've done something right for my own weight. I've got a family history of heart related illnesses. It is now up to me to maintain the course of things to ensure that I'll remain as this healthy in the long run. In addition, when I tried to sign up for a new insurance policy this time last year, I was slapped with a higher insurance premium because of my heavy weight then. It is now time to see what my insurance agent has to say now. Hhhhmmm should they now give me a discount of all my past premiums? hehehehe. |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Well done Flamie. I've been putting off extending my life insurance because they were loading so much extra. Let's just hope I don;t get run over before the end of Cohens!

Hey FYM, don't worry, I think you would be losing so quickly that the insurance company will be running after you to sign their policy, hehehe

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Well, I haven't had access to a full length mirror for about a month so may have to update this but after reading some other posts, it's made me realise my IBS has been really good. Will have to look for some threads dedicated to that one. Although I have to be careful with the diet softdrinks as they seem to have a laxative effect sometimes!!
I have noticed that I don't have cravings - at all. And I have a sweet tooth. I am looking forward to adding more to this as I am on the program longer |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Ive just been reading these posts and people keep saying that they are going down a shoe size, I hope to christ this doesnt happen to me, my feet are tiny enough now!!!!
I dont know if its the plan doing it, or the fact I coloured my hair the other day (brown, so nothing outlandish and didnt dry out my hair like going blonde does), but I have had quite a bit of hair come out in my comb and also quite a bit snap off. |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Have to say Cohens is great for the self-esteem. It's not just losing weight - I've had self esteem issues when I was 55kg!! It's more than that.... Perhaps the dedication and commitment you put in to it, not deviating, a radical change in appearance very quickly, positive feedback from others, fueling the body with healthy food (healthy body, healthy mind) Not sure - perhaps a combination of it all but I know I am happier within myself than I have been for a very long time (?ever??) and friends I haven't seen for a while are saying "you look really happy"....

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
For me so far I have noticed a better mood and a desire to engage with life again - so much so that I drive the 'what shall we do today' discussions - a first in a long time.

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Hi all,
I just noticed recently that THIS thread has FIVE Gold stars - a "first" for this place I think, and it couldn't go to a more worthy recipient IMHO. Or, translated...... BUMP !! Koh PS For newer readers, "Bump" is shorthand for "this is a helluva good thread, and it deserves to be on PAGE ONE again" !!! Which is shorthand for "Go to post #1, go directly to post #1 (and read on down) - do not pass GO, do not collect $200" You know the deal.....

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Great idea Koh - it's such a positive uplifting thread!
My physical changes so far (W6/D1 today): * shoe size - down from 9 to 8, * I have so much energy that I don't know what to do with - I feel I can dig a tunnel ( if ever one was needed ) from Syd to Perth EASY * my MP symptoms - hot flashes and all the others are gone 90-95% - this is the best! |
