Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Apart from that, COLD COLD COLD but it is coming into Winter and they always seem to be colder than the last! Ha ha. I'm noticing that I can smell something and not feel the need to taste it. CONFIDENCE! IN SPADES! And I've only lost 11.9kg so far - I'll be unstoppable when I get to my goal I walk taller, I smile more and I have a much more positive outlook on life. My self-worth has increased because I've proven to myself that I have the willpower to stick to it. xxBB |

Impaired fasting glucose ... take that
Following a small flirtation with borderline diabetes Dr C has persuaded me not to enter a life long relationship! 6 weeks on programme and my blood sugars and liver function have returned to normal. Can't wait to see the look on my doc's face ff |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
i was really concerned about losing all the padding in my face and having it looking gaunt, but strangely enough, even though my face is certainly smaller it actually glows instead of sagging. Skin is great, but I haven't got any 'new' wrinkles and don't look hollow!!
Off BP meds, doc did that cold turkey as i was seriously blacking out. Unmedicated only 115/65 IBS is much better, not solved, but greatly improved so long as I don't eat the egg. Rings are all way, way too big, shoe size down 1/2. Thankfully, doesn't change my goal weight. Can actually feel and see my ribs!!!! Thought they'd all disappeared years ago! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Was so inspired reading all the posts! Can't wait to add my list into the thread.
I am looking forward to having shoulder bones jutting out (I think that's sexy!). I want to be able to shop for skirts and shirts that fit, not buttons waiting to be popped out. I want to be able to chase after the bus/train in high heels without feeling overly breathless (nowadays I just 'stroll' towards and the bus stop/train station and wait for the next one). My wish list is definitely growing after reading this thread! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
WOW, what amazing stories! They have all truly inspired me! I am so excited to complete my journey. I am still a little concerned about the hair loss issue, but my consultant said that Dr Cohen advises to take additional iron & zinc or alternatively a combined hair & nail formula. I will definitely be doing this as since having my two girls and being on 2 shake only diets, my hair has really thinned where as before, it was so thick and healthy. I am also feeling really energetic and thinner. I can't wait for people to start noticing
Keep up the great work everybody! Vic xx |

One of my favorites is...lying in bed and having a concave stomach...feeling my hip bones and actually being able to grab instead of prod them...ditto for my ribs...and sitting with my legs crossed, without my feet and legs going numb...how good is that!!
have a great week everyone! Lesley xo |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Getting near to goal and finally feel I can add somethings to this thread!
- had major problems with the waterworks after child 2 - GONE! Fantastic as this was quietly ruining my life! - Confidence - it's back - didn't actually realise how badly it had gone until I was shopping and was happily popping in and out shops that I would have been too 'ashamed' to go into previously! - Fitness - despite doing heaps of exercise pre Cohen's I was always puffing, now despite not doing exercise I feel lighter and more energetic and I don't puff when keeping up with hubby and the kids! Basically I am so very very happy not to be contemplating a future wondering whether one or more obesity related diseases were going to do me in! Thank you Dr Cohen for giving me my life back! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I will add to this: have not had my usual annual flare up of asthma this winter. I suspect it is due to lack of processed foods! Will be watching now I am in maintenance to see if it flares up.....
My IBS was almost non-existent on plan. I flared up close to goal which was because I needed to start refeed - I did and the IBS went again |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Hi, I wrote this post in my diary yesterday and Koh suggested I post it in here, thanks Koh! So here it is:
Well today is my eight week update and i thought I would use this diary entry to write about how my life has changed in just eight short weeks. I did my cms measurements this week and since I started this I have lost 65cms in total. I have lost two dress sizes and 16.5kgs in weight. So, what I have learned about me: 1. That I can stick to what I thought eight weeks ago would be impossible. 2. I am so much more positive than I was two months ago, I feel more confident and happy in myself. 3. Fitting into smaller clothes makes you feel AWESOME! 4. I can't believe how creative I have become with my ingredients. 5. That mangoes are my saviour! 6. That being more happy impacts on my whole family. 7. Most importantly, I know I can do this and be the size I want to be. Being overweight helped me to hide in life and shy away from things, the perfect excuse for so many things, but now I know that is not the way I want to live my life and certainly not what I want to pass onto my daughter. 8. That next year when I am down at my goal weight I definitely want another child and hope to make that dream become a reality. So, there is me. Happy and in a far better place! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Thanks Annie,
Some awesome thoughts there - you can see why I wanted to have you include them in this thread !! It is a pool of (mostly) positive information that everyone can draw upon..... even if future readers don't happen to stumble over your Diary, they will find THIS thread (I'll see to THAT !! ) Good news needs to be shared !! Koh

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
12kg down, 12 to go.
- I thought I had lump in my leg when shaving, but it was on the other leg too. It was a calf muscle revealing itself, once the fat has vanished! Similar thing - with my upper chest. I thought I had a lump in my chest, but lo and behold, it was a rib. - Heaps of energy. At parties, I am the one on tthe dancefloor (not drinking, and hanging around the food). - watch and rings swinging on me. -dropped a shoe size. -far more comfortable in bed at night, and sleeping like a baby. - skin glowing. - wish i was more "regular" on cohens, as much less regular. like every 4 days regular. That's it for now. Much more, but ready for bed!

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
This thread is helping me so much. Last year I lost 42kg in 9 months and was nearing the end and refeed when my fiance broke up with me and my world fell apart. Its been a year since then and I have gained 18kg and I am so unhappy with how i look. Talk about emotional eating! Reading this thread has reminded me of all the wonderful things I loved about being slim and is motivating me as I start my journey again. I can't wait to feel all those things again. The best things I discovered when I was slim was:
- the unusual sensation of walking without my thighs touching each other because there was a gap between them! I could wear stockings and trousers without the 'swishing' noise, and wear skirts and shorts comfortably in the summer. It was wonderful - being able to cross my legs and my foot would just drop down to the floor instead of sticking out at a 90 degree angle and being in everyone's way. I could even thread my crossed foot back around the other leg again! - looking fab in jeans - having plenty of room in the plane seat - not having gross fat bulge on the inner side of my knees - not being the big one in photos/ at work anymore. Feeling like i'm just like everyone else, i'm one of the girls, I looked as good as they all did, feeling worthy of attention, and being confident. - actually enjoying going to the beach in a bikini during summer. Not dreading that walk from towel to water and trying to hide myself as soon as I could. - my bum being so boney that it was uncomfortable to sit sometimes. Ditto for sitting in a high backed chair as my backbone would stick into the chair as well. - shopping at trendy clothes stores, being able to buy clothes in sale, being able to pick something off the front of the rack, instead of sorting through to the back of the rack to get the largest size. - sitting down without rolls of fat bulging out of my stomach and having to fold my arms around my tummy to try and hide them - being able to feel my hip bones starting to stick out - seeing how pretty I actually am in the face, how big my eyes are, the shape of my jawline, knowing that I am attractive afterall! - getting all the wonderful comments of amazement by people I hadn't seen in a while. People actually saying "don't get too skinny now". Wow, i was actually skinny for the first time in my life! Anyway, there are many more special experiences that I noticed and will notice again and I'll update them when they start occuring again!! |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I lost 20kg on another program before going to Cohen's, but whilst losing only 20kg I found a number of things. MY shoes became bigger, my rings became too big, I became more clear headed that I was able to take on more things and become more confident. Depression gone, and sleeping like a baby and feeling so refreshed.

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
You know, I wouldn't say that I am sleeping better, exactly, but I have noticed two things: firstly, I wake up a lot earlier than I would have before. Still hate getting out of bed, but my body does tell me to do it a lot earlier than it used to. Secondly, I am dreaming more. ...well, not more. It's probably that I am now remembering my dreams. That's...really odd. XD
