Hmmmm...............it would be less painful to just donate blood, but that makes me faint.

It seems really weird now that it is only less than a month away. I am starting to get my list together of what I need to do before I go to hospital, and unfortunately the time I have to do it in doesn't seem that much.

I also need to work out what to take to the hospital.

I know I want to bring home a bag with some good pain relief in it..LOL

Have a great day

Sharon

Interesting about donating blood making you faint, Sharon. The two times my husband has given blood he's fainted. He gave up after that.

I'm sure you'll be given the pain relief you need. Try not to think about possible pain. With appropriate relief it's likely to be much less than you apparently expect.

HI there

well time is ticking away.

I am at a really good place in my head about it all....I've paid some of the bills for it, I am confident in my doctor, my weight is great....and I only have 13 more working days.

I am planning a girlie day out with a lovely girlfriend the day before. We'll be shopping and chatting and then pick the kids up and go to the movies and they can have mcdonalds. I wanted to do something special that night.

Have a great day

Hey Sharon,

Sorry I haven't been in for a while

Looks like you are really organised, that's awesome

Very cool about the burns research thing ...... mine would be no good unless they are researching burns in Zebra's (stretch mark heaven LOL)

Have a great week

Hi there

Well 2 weeks on Thursday - I went and met with the surgeon again yesterday and took the kids with me. My son was so funny - the doctor asked if he had any questions about the operation and He asked very seriously " After the operation will Mum have to be extra careful when drinking a cup of tea?"" Then went on to tell him all about the fishing weekend he'd had. He is so sweet, that boy of mine........

I feel so confident in the operation side of things - the doctor is one of the best, so I am told. I have 11 more working days to go.

Hope you are having a great day.

Sharon

It is getting close, Sharon. You must be feeling excited. Good idea to take the children with you yesterday.

Hi Aj

It is getting close - 2 weeks exactly -

My kids are old enough to understand what all this means so I thought it might make them feel more comfortable if they could put a face to the name - and they both liked him so that was good.

I have paid for it all now - I had to laugh yesterday when I phoned the admissions nurse and she asked if I was over 6 feet -I said I don't even make five. She also asked me my weight and it was so nice not to feel ashamed of my weight or hope my hubby couldn't hear me when I said it.

Only 9 more working days......

Time's passing so quickly, Sharon. Fourteen days only. You'll be packing your bag for hospital soon.

It is now 12 days to go.......

I read lots of the diaries in here and am so fascinated by the process that everyone goes through. In all honesty I can hardly remember now most of the 7 months that I did it, and have just in recent times, forgotten what it is to be an overweight person. I feel that I am ready to shed that person forever now , and by removing this band of skin around my stomache that I might finally feel like the heathly thin person that I now am. I have never felt fully finished after Cohens - I was disappointed with the end "look". I always said I would fix whatever needed to be done and now that is only 12 days away. Brings a lump to my throat really.......

I read all your diaries and see the determination you all have and it reminds why I can never go back to be being big. I now know there are much more important things in life than food - it really is only there to fuel our bodies.

Anyway I am off to go fishing and put out the crab pots. I love fresh crab salad - YUM

You'll be so pleased when the op's over, Sharon, and even more so when you are able to see the final result.

Yes, I agree. It's a major operation. Naturally, you would want it out of the way as soon as possible, rather than hanging over you, in addition to the actual reason for having it done.

Thanks AJ and Fitgirl

I have woken up feeling really sick in the tummy - I think it is nerves starting to creep in. I'll have a cuppa and a shower and see how I am after that.

Have a great day
