Just catching up on your diary, sounds like your having a good tiime with your family. Well done for resisting temptation. I also can sit with my legs crossed now, i always used to sit with my legs open, not very lady like but the thighs prevented that hehe Stay strong x

Hi rosemary, I know how frustrating it is not to be able to weight, but just have confidence that id you are following the program all is going according to plan. Event that crossing the legs is a great sign - something you could consider for the future is taking a tape measure as a second best option when your away for a while.
It could perhaps be best that ehy have no scales as sometimes different scales differ and then it can be confusing. Enjoy the rest of your holiday, make sure you relax and get good sleeps and those scales should reward you on your return! |

Thanks all
Hi,
Thanks for the comments. Mette - Thanks for the encouragement. Eve - I am sure that you will be crossing those legs before you know it. Like you said DF is the way to go. I use to wonder about the saying I have read on here "food is our medicine" but I really have been thinking like that. I just figure this is the way I have to eat to become thinner and the food is what will achieve it so I will not eat the things that are not on the plan. I really feel like it is preparing me for life changes about how I view food. Sam - where have you been ?? I have missed you - I will read your diary next - I see you have lost more weight - Well done. Louise - thanks for those comments. I actually was wearing a denim skirt yesterday with my mobile in the pocket and I had to keep hitching it up as it was falling down constantly - Oh dear what a problem. - I will have to go buy a belt to wear......... Who needs scales to tell about the weight loss situation LOL We had a BBQ here last nite with the usual temptations so I just sat at the end of the table - away from the nibbles and temptations and I had my salad all weighed and ready and I took a small piece of steak - so all was good. The salads were a little tempting as there were some of my favs. But another temptation bits the dust and on from here. Cheers, Rosemary |

Yep Rosemary you are definately losing weight - you have no need to have a set of scales to tell you you are shrinking when you have to collect your skirt from around your ankles

Well I hear from Dad that your clothes are falling off you Aunty Rosemary Dad is really impressed.....he who hasn't really had issues with weight and has watched us battle it all our lives. I think he has a new found respect for us...I had to wonder if he thought I was always going to be his overweight daughter???? Well don't we have news for him
I'm so proud of your DF status, good for you. It's not easy to be when you are away from home. But Majellas is definately the next best place to be!!! Those scales will be nice to you I'm sure!!!! Have a great Sunday and good trip back home Love Jen |

Hi All,
Still at my sisters and there is LOTS of temptations here but I remain DF..... Keen to see those scales when I get home. Jenny - did your dad actually say that ?? I am surprised, I didn't think it was that noticeable just yet. All the support helps though so I will take it as that. I have really adopted the "food is my medicine" attitude. Which is not hard to do as medicine has to be measured, taken at the right time and can only be certain types of stuff. To me that sounds like Cohen food - what do you reckon? So I will be DF and achieve this weight loss. I have a friend who is gluten intolerant and she has amazed me for a few years now and if she can turn the other way when it comes to food - so can I. My only advantage is that I know that at some time I can eat all the other foods that I have turned my back on for now. She won't be able to ever eat some things again. So this is not too bad. I have strongly accepted that if I reamain DF this will all happen faster. So although I do not want to power on to my big 50th year - I do want the time to fly right now. LOL Louise - You make me smile at the possible image of the skirt at my ankles - what a sight that would be. HA Ha I would have to have plastic surgery to my face so that no one would recognise me again if that happened..... Well My sister is making mums recipe of spaghetti sauce - and the smell fills the air for hours, so temptation is here in a big way. She feels bad but it is fine - I just know that I can't have it. Take care and thanks for all the support. cheers Rosemary |

Hi Rosemary,
I haven't visited for a while, but what a pleaseure to hear your news and congratulations on resisting all those temptations. My daughter was in cooking mode yesterday and cooked sausage rolls, meatloaf, chicken pie and sausage casserole. The house was filled with the most amazing aromas but i resisted and just thought about all the times in the future i will be able to have small portions of all the above guilt free. On the program now for nearly 4 weeks and first weigh in for me next Wednesday at the clinic. Keep fingers and legs crossed for me!! So like you i am heading to 50 and determined not to be fat anf fifty, so lets give ourselves a cheer for doing something about it Jeannie |

Hi Rosemary
As you probably know, I'm all about the smells. My mum had a plate of dutch almond cakes (yup, mums dutch) and they were making me drool, but i had a big whiff and eww, they dont smell nice, infact, i dont even LIKE marzipan, i just ate them pre-cohens coz well, i dont even know why... Today at cirque i could smell the seasoning on someones potato chips, BARF... and this afternoon I took a deep breath in from a box of chocolates mum was 'finishing' before she starts cohens next week. Ohhh devine, i miss chocolate SO much. anyway, i''m rambling, i just wanted to say, mmmmm to smells, I'm so glad we're still allowed to smell on the program, it really is quite satisfying sometimes XXX

Its funny that you mention the leg crossing thing, I hope to be able to sit pretty myself before too long!
Good on you for resisting all those temptations. I'm sure it must be the best feeling in the world having to hitch up your skirt all the time ... just a really valid reason to go shopping in my books Keep strong!

Hi Rosemary
CONGRATULATIONS!!! It is just fantastic to hear that you remain DF while at your sisters, with BBQs and cakes littering the place. You are sure to have a great surprise on the scales when you get home and/or a great surprise with the body measurements! Fi

Dad did say that!!!! He is a dark horse also. I don't think he really knows how to convey what he is thinking sometimes!!!! I only realised in a different kind of way last night... that not only is he MY dad but his is YOUR brother (hope that makes sense) and it awesome to have recognition from those closest to you especially when they normally struggle to express themselves most of the time.
OMG if I could only let everyone know that if I was around the aromas of my Grandmas Spaghetti sauce......(drools) as you were Aunty Rosemary it would have been a huge task not to taste. Sooooooooo proud of you....it was super hard for me not to have any at Xmas!!!!! I can't wait till you get home to see what those scales say!!!!! Love Jen |

Pleased with scales !!
Hi all,
I got back last nite and I weighed myself this morning and in the 10 days I have lost 2.1 KGs, official weigh in day is tomorrow so I will change my ticker then. BUT I am so pleased with that result - I was not losing much before I went away and I did have my TOM while I was away so that would have contributed as well. So overall I have lost just over 10 kgs - Of course this encourages me to power on..... Thanks to all the visits to my diary - It was temptation over and over at my sisters but I was stong and I have the results on the scales. Jenny - you are right about that spaghetti smell..... Sam, Daffodil, Hodgje and Fiona - Thanks for all your encouragement, Sam I might have to live on smells for awhile too - not sure if it makes it easier or harder though... Well another week almost bites the dust and I will do my official weigh in tomorrow and update my ticker. I see Sam has put her email address out there for all the facebook users so I would like to do the same - mine is trail98@bigpond.net.au and I would love to add any of you as a friend and share another part of our lives. Cheers all, Rosemary |

Congratuations on your weight loss while you were away, that is great! You will be hitting the 70s before you know it!
Rosemary maybe you need a belt for that skirt if you dont want to show off your nickers! It seems like this cohens diet is responsible for the purchase of a lot of new belts! Im loooking forward to joining in the celebration when you hit the 70s!!! |

Hi all,
Thanks Jenny and Louise for your encourgement. The scales are actually down a bit more this morning and the 70's don't look too far away. We are heading down to our beach house this week end, again I think it is just the two of us so no problems with food temptations there. Off to a friends tonite for birthday drinks. At least we know who the dedicated driver will be, before Cohens we probably would have both drank and then stayed the night. But I know how good I am going to feel in the morning. I don't need alcohol to have fun. Boy I have used that line a lot when my boys were hitting the late teens. I am cruising along well with my food and meal choices as I continue to look for more interesting recipes. Water is definitely not a problem as I drink at least 4 litres a day. Cheers Rosemary |

Hi, Have fun at the beach hut.....one day you will have to take us
Did I tell you that Mel & I are coming up for my cousin Stacys wedding (mums side obviously) on the 4th of April.....so I will get to see you..yipeeeee. Only home for 1 night so will be a flying visit but I so have to see for myself how the cohens magic is working for you!!!!! I hope you have taken progress pics. It is so great to reflect on them. You don't think 5 - 10kg makes a difference but it really does. You don't have to post them just keep them for your own motivation!!! Love Jen |
