Re: The Wedding Countdown....
I have been reading heaps of other posts about accepting this journey and how it's not a race I don't need to bash this weight out in the 12 weeks I initaiily thought it would be, I can do this for as long as necessary. RULES (as of tomorrow) * DO NOT Daily weigh * Mix up my meals (start with number 3 or 2) * This is NOT a race * Only half my crackers on a day to day basis (unless I need more) * Put the emphasis on my measurements instead of the weight * This is about me, noone else I don't need people to notice and make comments on my weight loss (although it is nice) Righto rules made, I want to try these for 1 week and see how I feel on Friday. Again thank you for my visitors it is nice to have the support from you all. Claire and Andrea I am really looking forward to meeting you both on Monday too |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Hi Fiona,
Just thought I would mention that there are others on the forum who have restricted their crackers and fruit in the hope that it would speed up their weight loss only to find that they didn't lose at all. I personally believe that we should eat all we are entitled too, our diet is already so restricted we shouldn't cut out what we dont need to. If the crackers were harmful to weightloss they wouldn't be in our programmes. There have been days when I haven't had all my crackers, but that hasn't been deliberate, just worked out that way, usually because I had forgotten as I was busy. I find the fit of my clothes is the best indication of how well I am doing, how quickly they move from not fitting at all, to snug, to comfortable to too big. Mixing up your meals may help, I know others have tried it. I have always had meal 3 for breakfast, meal 2 for lunch and meal 1 for dinner. I am allergic to eggs and dislike yoghurt intensley and just could not stomach the idea of fish for breakfast. Occasionally I will have my cheese meal for breakfast but find I get hungry again quite quickly so prefer to have it at night. Its great that we have the flexibility to choose which order we have them in. You are right about this journey not being a race. We didn't put the weight on in a hurry and should be thankful that this programme is allowing us to lose it more quickly than anything else we could (and mostly have) try. NOT weighing daily is very liberating! And it gives you something to look foward to. Keep up the great work, you are over halfway now - its all downward from here on in. Andrea |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Hi Fi!
Wow! So much has been going on in your diary! I haven't visited in ages. Far out lady, I don't know where to begin but just want to say that I want you to hang in there and stick to your rules! You are right, this is YOUR journey, and of course there will be highs and lows. Cohens is extremely restrictive and we are very controlled bunch to tackle this form of fat loss. No other programme will give you these results though honey, and what you have done so far is AWESOME!! Forget that 100gram week, I've had one week of 700gram and next week 900gr, but I really dont care, as long as it goes DOWN. I bet you are looking and feeling really good! I too have been having some down days (maybe it's just where we are at in the programme???) I think once Chch warms up and we can get out into the sun things will look a lot cheerier. Can't wait to hear how your week goes, and try not to be too hard on yourself! Relax your way through this journey babe.. x |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Thank you Andrea & This Time for your encouraging words.
WEEKEND - Well it started off badly in the way that I haven't mixed up my meals at all, stil going 1,2,then 3 after reading that people dont benefit from only having half their crackers I haven't restricted myself on that either! Oh well thats two "rules" that didn't happen but the great news is I haven't been on my scales since Wednesday and feel quite enlightened from it! Though it is strange to not know exactly where I am weight wise, but my measurements are wonderful and a real boost, the biggest drop has been around my stomach, a total of 19cms!!!! Which is massve, no wonder I am struggling to find clothes that fit anymore! Not that I am complaining. Had dinner with the family this evening, brought my tea with me & also desert, they had beef, I had steak, they had poached pears with custard & ice cream & I had apple with sprite and cinnamon and a cracker. so not too dissimilar really but damn that custard looked great. Back to work tomorrow and I am really looking forward to my 10.30am coffee with everyone who can make it Be so wonderful to put faces & personalities to people's blogs & posts. See you all tomorrow |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Great news on the 19cm, that IS massive. It doesn't matter if you haven't mixed your meals up - yet - its an option for you at any time. It's just great that we can. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow. Andrea |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Sorry to hear you've been feeling down hun. I won't repeat all the things everyone else has said about the loss and stuff (although I agree with all they've said).
I was thinking maybe do something for yourself and your mood. I had a day to myself last week and it made me feel so good. I cleaned the house from top to toe, then I had a pamper session, waxed and facial and a long shower. Slipping into a fresh bed, all clean and smooth legs on fresh sheets ha ha. It was nice to remove my focus from the weight loss and to something else. Also you feel better about yourself all pampered up, so the weight becomes secondary for a little while. I hope you are feeling better hun. Thinking of you |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Hey Fiona - just doing a diary catch up - babe you are doing well xxxx
With ya rules, I agree with others - eat ya fruit and crackers (if not hungry dont). Thats what they there for. I am only back after being sick last week - but prior to that I had days where I ate all 5 and other days where I only had 3 or 4... Makes no difference. With mixing up the meals - I do it alot myself - I probably have m2 or m3 for brekkie 3 or 4 days a week... And do 1, 2, 3 order other days. To me its just about what a fancy - not sure it makes a huge difference on the scales but it does fill you up longer during the day thats for sure. And a tasty egg salad with salada croutons is yummo for dinner |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Thank you Tacey, (great to hear from you) Sammie and Andrea for your recent posts.
Well today was fantastic, I met with some lovely Christchurch Cohenites today which was wonderful and work was really good too, food was good I am LOVING the grated cauliflower at the moment with everything! Still I have refrained from the scales since Wednesday so really feeling clueless about where my body is at. After speaking with the ladies today I have decided that I am going to go & buy some new jeans that are toooooo small for me so I can try them on each week & see if they fit. I don't have any smaller clothes than what I currently own as I have NEVER been smaler than this, well not yet anyway. Having cravings for chocolate this evening, not helped by the many adverts that seem to be playing on TV tonight! Green tea & peppermint here I come! |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Hi Fiona
I've just been catching up on your last few posts and want to praise the wonders of not weighing daily! I have always been a daily weigher and I have obviously never successfully kept weight off so this time I thought I'd just try not weighing daily and I'm loving it. It is so liberating and I don't have to worry about the highs and the lows. It has been a bit hard finding motivation some days without that daily number so I've been playing with old clothes that don't fit and measuring myself and that seems to tide me over when I need reassurance that the weight is moving. I'm completely converted! I agree about mixing up meals too - don't have any evidence at all to back it up but I like the concept of giving my body a little shock every now and again. I usually have one day during the week when I break from my pattern and then go crazy mixing it up on the weekends - actually really enjoying yogurt and stewed apple for dinner. Your comment about this not being a race is something I'm trying to fight too! We're going away at the end of Oct which will be approx 3 months after I started and I was planning to be finished and on refeed by then. Trying so hard not to think like that though because every time I think about it I just get stressed! Anyway lady - just wanted to comment as I think your rules are very wise - except for the no crackers one, ain't no-one getting between me and my daily cracker fix. Have a good day |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Waterbaby, KiwiChic, Andrea and Katriana thank you for stopping by and your lovely comments
Tomorrow is 1 week anniversary.............................since I last got aqquainted with my scales!! They call out to me every morinng promising that I will be happy with their figure but I ignore them and walk away! Even my partner is shunning them too (he wasn't obsessed like I am though) I feel massive this week (am hoping that TOM is not to far away and that is the reason) it would explain last weeks shoking loss & the way I am hungry and craving sweet stuff so far this week. I had a diet coke this afternoon to try & ease the craving, it kinda worked drinking it through a straw but thta would also add to my stomach feeling bloated & therefore why I feel HUGE! I have decided that after Friday's weigh in (week 7) I will change my ticker to the "new goal" so hopefully it won't seem to far far away and will be a truer indication of the rest of my "journey". Still not up to posting before photo's yet since I feel this way hopefully this will change soon. Again thanks to everyone for your visits, is so motivating to recieve compliments and support from you all. Enjoy the rest of your week team |

Re: The Wedding Countdown....
Thanks Bloss & Tacey for your encouragement for tomorrow I am hoping it is better than today...................................
So stayed at work late tonight because I am finishing off a project for presentation tomorrow & thought I would get some veges on the way hom for dinner & tomorrow & do a proper shop on sat. Well I rushed in to the supermarket very aware of the time (getting late) got all my items & went through the self serve check out &paid for everything with the new credit card.........ahhhh invalid transaction! What on earth it worked 2hours ago, so I put the transaction through about 5 times & each time the "robot voice" screamed out "invalid transaction, declined" then went to the customer service desk to try at their one no still no luck & time is ticking by.I had to have cabbage for dinner, plain sad crusty cabbage! Stink but its only fuel isn't it. Turns out that Kiwibank credit cards are down, I bet it is a rare occurence & the one day that I had chopped up all the rest of my money cards & just had that in my wallet. I was short fuse when I finally gotin the door I can tell you, my dear partner just stayed out of my way until I had cooked my dinner & calmed down! Weigh in tomorrow and I am nervous about it, more so than the massive presentation I have to do! I hope everyonehas had a good week and I look forward to catching up on peoples diary's tomorrow. |
