Default Re: The quest for Caro!

Wow work trip away yesterday which meant a night out of town. I had my meals with me and last nights was chicken schnitzel and salad (it's on the menu at the hotel where we stayed and a Watcher always orders it) so as they tucked into a huge greasy schnitz with a load of chips, covered in gravy with a handful of iceberg and some quartered tomato I asked for a plate and had my lovely thin chicken breast with spicy cracker crumbs and a wonderful spinach/rocket/cucumber salad.

I would once have had the same hotel meal as the others and cleaned up every single bit of it!!! This time I couldn't believe it..........the smell was awful, I could actually smell the oil/fat in it and the chips smelt the same.......oily!!!!

The Watcher commented after finishing most of it that she would have preferred my meal - go figure!!!!!

But I am loving the new found honest confidence in myself - not that I wasn't confident but before but I always felt a bit out of place. If I am honest I would say that I forced myself to at least present a confident facade (fake it til you make it!!)and it worked - most people who know me would describe me as confident/ outgoing - most people wouldn't know that I have been plagued by the same demons as many of you - I am the biggest person in the room, my pants/shirt/bra (insert clothing item) doesn't fit properly, that chair is too small to fit into, I don't want to get up in front of everyone, are they thinking that I am too fat (I know most people don't think like this but you understand self doubt).

But I realised whilst driving home that I fit completely into the car seat!!!!....... this surprised me and I ended up smiling to myself all the way home....... I am loving this!

I hope everyone is as pleased with their progress however fast or slow it is at the moment, as the SO says to me .......you are doing well because you are doing something..................!!!! Take care and keep that in mind!!! Caro

Oh Caro - I just want to give you big kiss! Thanks for your last entry, it really struck a chord with me.

Deep down, I suppose I am disappointed in myself for my weightloss being so slow (comparing my journey with everyone else constantly!) but what you just wrote:

"I hope everyone is as pleased with their progress however fast or slow it is at the moment, as the SO says to me .......you are doing well because you are doing something..................!!!!"

and how right is your SO!! As long as we are doing something about the unwanted weight we are doing well!!!

Thank you thank you thank you babe!!! (And pls thank your SO too!!)

I love those moments that only the people on here can really know how significant they are like fitting into a car seat, comfortably crossing your legs or finally not feeling like the fat person in the room.

You better get used to that smiling because there will be many more significant moments to come at the rate you are going hun!

Keep smiling Caro, because soon it will be more than just fitting completely into the car seat, it will be a tiny seat on the plane that is extra roomy, or a ride at a theme park, those tiny size 10 shorts... You're doing great, I'm LOVING your enthusiasm.

oh and SO is right... and that is definitely something to get straight in your head as early as possible... the battle is fought not only with the body but with the demons in your mind.. so keep on fightin fightin!

Hi there Caro, just a quick note so that you can see that I actually did register I tried to read all of your diaries...they are so funny and inspiring. I am so proud of you and 'all' your achievements...I always have been. I am so happy that you are feeling great, getting support and supporting others..I love you. x As soon as I figure out how to work the forums properly (and without a 3 year old trying to get 'on the bus' with me) I'll start posting, everyone seems lovely and truly motivated. I cant wait for chips and oil to smell gross

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, that's my sister!!!!!!!

Awwwwww tearjerker alert - my big sister has been the biggest influence in my life, she has taught me so much, shown me so much and been there right beside me the whole way - even when I didn't want to hear what she had to say she said it anyway (and even when I hung up on her she always rang back!!!) and then cried with me because she had to say it and she knew it hurt.

I LOVE YOU MANDA and like I said saved you a seat on the bus next to me - and I'll even give you the window if you want it!!!!

Default The quest for Caro!

Hey C-Jaye, thats great Amanda has started the program, what a great journey to share together. I must say, both of your posts were very heart warming - I felt the love!!! I don't have a sister, and I think your relationship sounds lovely. Chuckelled at the comment that you wont be grounded for reading Amanda's diary - liked that!!

I just checked you out ha ha!!! Thanks for popping up your pics, it is lovely to put a face to a name and you have a lovely friendly face- I promise not in an awkward way, just truthful I guess!!!

Your doing really well C-Jaye, keep up the great work, and thanks for popping in and saying hello in my diary, I do appreciate it.

Lisa

Hey gorgeous Caro! You are just so positive (jlou said this about me, but girl, I've not nothing on you)! I really love reading your posts and think you rock!

Um, I asked my clinic about allspice and they said it was a big NO... I was having it in much the same dish then checked with the clinic as I'd read about no fennel. I posted up a big list of yes and no herbs/spices but can't remember where... ARGH! Sorry honey!

Saying that, it doesn't seem to be affecting you too badly! You're doing awesome! Oh, and going down a size. I wish I was as organised as you (one in, one out). I've just kind of got everything shoved into the wardrobe... bit of a mess in there at the moment...

Love SO's comment - he's a keeper! Made my nod and feel all 'ohhhhh'. He's right though. It's better than sitting back and doing nothing.

And YAY, Amanda is here. Good on you! You talked about her being an influence on you, well, maybe the tables have turned, or it just works both ways. Take some credit honey, it's brilliant that she's here!

Thanks for that WSM, got the recipe out of my clinics information booklet as a curry powder recipe......oh well must be a bit out of date up here, nothing new there.....no biggie, will just leave it out!

And thanks LJ, my sisters and brothers all rock! I thought I would sneak the photos up as I'm not a photo person - I am usually right at the back hidden behind as many people as possible but this is about changing and I am going to be accountable, and how good will it be to look back on those happy snaps!

So this week was my 6 week anniversary and the stats so far are:

Week 1 -14.4cm -6.8kg
Week 2 -11.8cm -3.4kg
Week 3 -5.5cm -.9kg (think TOM was responsible here)
Week 4 -3.5cm -1.4kg
Week 5 -7cm -1kg
Week 6 -9.5cm -1.9kg

Total - 51.7cm and -15.4kg

I totally missed the 50cm lost because I just didn't add it up right, but the SO figures that he has been celebrating every cm so far so it was celebrated!

I hope everyone is celebrating their achievements as well! It is great to be making a positive lifestyle change and losses make it even better no matter how big or small............Caro

Roll on weekend, feeling a bit flat here at the moment I think it's the unseasonal rain - it shouldn't be raining in May here, so I have a date with the SO, my jammies and the recorded shows from this week starting at 5pm today!!!

But upside of the strange weather was it rained on the clothes that were on the line last night and my two new pairs of work pants were out there!!! So at 2am when we heard the rain I said to SO - well what am I going to wear now? And he reminded me of a pair of dress shorts that are in the wardrobe (me shorts - work!!! Don't think so Tim) - "Wear those they look good" and promptly went back to sleep!

So I got out the shorts and they look good, fit well and are dressy - seriously I used to look at women wearing them with cute heels and feel bad about not being able to as well!! So this weekend I'm into more vacuum packed bags for more work wear!!

Or maybe another weekend with my jammies, my book and the hammock!

HI Caro, love you too x

Its about time you offered me the window seat Very proud of you ...... and now me too. Your photos look great, loving the hair too. I have always seen the 'beautiful' you, I am glad you are finally seeing it too. From now on you can stand in front of me. I miss you. I have loved my first week and managed a party for the other Aussies at our house and a shopping trip to Santa Clarita today....I took my own lunch at your suggestion. Next week we are on holidays in San Francisco... and I am already thinking about packing my own esky I have almost managed to read all of your diary....'do you have time to do any work"....all of the tips and recipes you have put in there are going to be a great help to me. You are very inspirational. So far in 7 days I have lost 11 pounds (I know I should not have weighed, but I just took a peek honest), thanks Caro.

Love you, Amanda

ps...stop writing nice things about me....

What a weekend, sooooo relaxing I could have been comatose! It has gone from hot with unseasonal rain to 18 degrees and freezing cold (26 degrees is cold here)! The Dry Season is here and I was wearing a jumper (that previously didn't fit) at 0900 on Sunday - looking for some thick socks!!!!!!

The WH came home from 2 weeks away last night and was soooo surprised she almost couldn't speak - and then again this morning when I was dressed for work - "new work wardrobe - OMG I go away for 2 weeks and everything changes"!!!

I have a work trip away this week - people who haven't seen me since I started so that will be fantastic, can't wait to see their reactions!

I made soup yesterday - zucchini and chicken - maybe a little too much chilli but fantastic - Microwave a cup of water with herbs, spices, zucchini and a skerrick of chiken breast until cooked, blend with a stick blender and add remainder of cooked chicken breast! This one gets the thumbs up from the SO and the WH! Next time cauliflower!!!

So today I said goodbye to my 16 workpants - I hope they bring as much happiness to the new owner as they did to me!! I even took a moment in the post office to send them off with thanks and happy thoughts!

There have been a few unhappy events on the forum of late and it seems that quite a few people are dealing with a lot of things out of their control - I am always inspired by those who keep going during trying times! I hope everything gets better from here for you all...... take care and remember you only get one life so live it to the full........Caro
