Hey Peter,
I my consultant is Kaz (karen) too. I think I spoke to her just after she spoke to you on Tuesday night. She is great

I sense quite a bit of competition going on between the boys. You might have to join the chicks with the biggest loser challenge. Maybe some pics??

Well I have achieved goal 3. Under 90kg. I weigh 89.8kg!

When I look at the ticker it is a bit surreal. Being in the eighties is like being "back in the 80's" it is that far ago I cannot remember! Yet I feel like I have only been on the diet a month not two months? And having only 13.8kg to go seems like a walk in the park. Went I get in single figures that will be mind blowing.

FYI Here is my journey of gain. All lost in only 8 weeks.

A professional but part time Aerobic Instructor I was 75kg, lean and hard. Not much muscle but could do 30 push up in a minute. 2 classes in a row. Even made the finals of the NSW Mid North Coast Championship.

My real career was and is, construction and design. I started to gain weight around 1991 when I commenced a 3hour a night for 3 nights a week for 3 year course at TAFE to get my builders license. I remember eating Hot Roast Beef Rolls covered in Gravy at 9pm in the break and thinking "I better not have too many of these".

By end of course in 1993 I was around 85kg. Wife said I was getting chubbish. I ridiculed her saying it was my study and my new business and I could get a job back at a Gym and lose it in no time at all.

Business boomed and so did I. By 1995 I moved to Sydney and those yummy cafes. Working long hours I ate out almost all the time. In 1996 I rejoined a gym to stop the rot around 90kg but it simply held the ground. By 1997 I moved to State Government and flying here and there, a lot of site visits, etc. I was fixed at 95kg and despite my best efforts at the gym only once got down to 92kg on very demanding Liver Cleansing Diet. However I carried my weight all over and was still fit so most people didn’t think as me as fat, including myself. Wife however had concerns and saw the reality.

Then in 1991 I went back into my own business! Out went the gym. I moved to 100kg and stayed there until 1995 when wife gave up work due to car accident and I had access to the car. Gone was my only exercise of walking to clients etc... and on went 12kg to what I was when I started Cohens.

By now I was too busy and too unfit to work out at the gym and wife seriously worried she would get a call I had just had a heart attack.

So thankyou to Asy, Kristine, Baloo, Less Fatty and others here for your support thus far. I still have a way to go but I know I can do it and it is second nature to eat right food in the right way so I know as well, that I will never regain what I have lost.

Full diet updates to come but I needed to post this achievement now whilst fresh.

Regards, Peter

Great stuff Peter. The 80's were certainly a great decade but I reckon the 70's were even better.

So, are you wearing acid wash stretch jeans know that you're in the 80's ? Got you flares ready for the 70's ?

Again, congratualtions. You've done brilliantly.

Actually, yes. I am into size 36 jeans that are so old they are washed white like acid wash. Not stretch though.

When I hit size 34 I am into archived Country Road Chino's, not thats an 80's look.

But size 32! I dont have any of them kept.

Well done Peter for making it to the 80's.

You have travelled there so fast - sure you don't have a time machine?

Cohen Date: W10D1 Tuesday 1st May
Today's Weight: 89.4kg (-0.4kg)
Total CMs (updated Tues.): 3.21cm week 56cm total

Breakfast: 8:30am Yoghurt & Apple in Diet Sprite
Snack: Crackers
Lunch: 2pm Turkey & Chicken Soup
Snack: Crackers
Dinner: 7:30pm Steak with Squash
Supper: Apple
Fluids: 2.0l water, 2 decaf coffee ,1 decaf tea, 1 real tea
Deviations: Nil but not enough water

A satisfying loss of 0.4kg.

Updated CM as well however my wife failed to realise you DON’T measure from the end of the tape. So essentially the CM are a rough guide only. I guess the tried and true method of the clothes you can wear or how baggy is what really matters. Need to but some size 34 jeans! I have no behind anymore.

Cohen Date: W10D2 Wednesday 2nd May
Today's Weight: 89.2kg (-0.2kg)
Total CMs (updated Tues.): 3.21cm week 56cm total

Breakfast: 8:00am Scrambled Egg with Mushrooms & Tomato & 1 Cracker
Snack: 1 Cracker
Lunch: 1:15pm Roast Chicken & Green Salad & Crackers
Snack: 3:45pm Crackers
Dinner: 6:16pm Beef & Bok Choy Sitfry
Supper: 8pm Orange
Fluids: 1.5l water, 3 decaf coffee, 1 decaf tea, 1 real coffee
Deviations: Nil but not enough water

A smaller loss of 0.2kg.

Could be salt retention as I used the 100ml dash of pre-made stock in the chicken/turkey soup yesterday but it was shared 50% with wife and twice the volume?

Not feeling hungry as such but because it is cold my body is craving warm liquids like soup. The green salad for lunch was decidedly uninspiring. Also the cold means you don’t feel the need to drink as much. As of 7pm I am only 1.25l and will need to work late on the extra 0.75l just to make 2. If my counsellor Kaz is reading this I know I should do more water.

Maybe tomorrow will be better news?

Peter

OK, as an exercise: no real coffee today and min 3llitre of water. Was the plan yesterday and what a difference it made. Kaz was right. 0.6kg off.!

Considering yesterdays deviation this result is even more spectacular.

So will do another 3 litre today, and no real coffee or tea.

Well a rise. My weekend of bending the rules bent too far.

To make it worst on Sunday I was almost tipping in to 88.4kg so the rise is actually closer to 0.4kg. Could be the fat in burger but probably losing count and spacing of crackers.

Today I feel a little hungry so the carbs must be biting. No change for three days. The rule of four days stalled appears likely.

I need to refocus for the final stretch.

I will commit to pure Cohens all this week.

Goal to lose 2kg in 5 days. Average of 0.4kg a day.

My goal this week was to lose 3kg in 5 days and stick to pure cohens no deviations.

One day gone and one 0.4kg down.

As for CM I went down 1cm on waist but UP 2 cm on chest?

My chest has been weird for weeks now. No pun intended.

Fiirst it went up 4cm and I thought it was wife measuring wrong with the tape end, which it was. Then I also thought it is the way I hold my chest. However, I think, my chest may be changing in shape and actually growing more muscle. The only exercise I get is lifting my 12kg daughter a lot.

Any other guys experiencing this?

Peter

I personally think it is a change in shape, or should I stay a gradual return to normal. I really feel my overall posture has changed, they way I walk , my shoulders are held more back now - or should I say less hunched. With 20KG less around your middle and internal organs it makes sense your body can hold itself differently.

Thanks LF. My adviser Kay agrees with you.

And I thought my sore back was bad posture at the computer. It is actually good posture coming back, so to speak.
