Thanks AE, AJ and Tracey, you are all such lovely people!!

Week 7 day 7

Feeling pretty good again today. I tried a different mix with my yoghurt today, had paw paw in it with sugarless liquid (4 drops) and my crushed Salada crackers.
It was pretty good!! It made a nice difference.
It's even a bit cool over here in Brisbane, and so I have also resorted to drinking hot water and lemon juice (from allowance) as my morning drink as well as just
the plain water.
I took a sneak peak on the scales this morning and it looks like no shift from last Friday, so hopefully I'm in shrinking mode!! The tape measurements should
clarify that tomorrow.

Yesterday I spent some time with my brother, he is looking so good now after dropping just over 33kgs by doing Cohens. He is a great support and inspiration to me
as well as this forum. I still keep learning every day about new things or different things.

I have a busy day today, so take care all and have a great day!

Vee

I hope you have a good loss somewhere tomorrow, Vee The scales should show something for the week too.

How long has your brother been on Cohen's?

Hi AJ

He started on 11 Jan so 16 weeks tomorrow. His wife did it as well, and is looking fabulous. She is only 4kgs away from refeed!!
Not quite sure of her total loss to date. But they have both done so incredibly well!
They are good role models!!

That's the day I started, Vee. He's certainly done well. It must be a help having family doing the same thing and able to encourage you.

What a coincidence that that is the same day you started!! Yes, AJ it sure is great having some close family support like that.

Week 8 Day 1

Well today I got on the this morning and no movement, stuck at 104kgs! Measurements were down some, lost 4.5cms, and that is mostly off my hips.
Oh well, it's one of those weeks!! I'm not so upset about it as I thought I might have been. I'm sure there will be movement next week.
I do however wonder if it's because I've had a tsp of psyllium husks the past 2 days to help with the BM!

I had a shocking night's sleep last night, so think I will take it easy today, even though I have heaps of study to do.
It's a long weekend this weekend, so hopefully I can catch up on some sleep then.

I joined the 20kg challenge, as I think a bit of extra motivation and competition can never go astray.
It got me thinking about how far I've come in these 7 weeks already, so thought I might post my before and now stats
just to reinforce that.

Start stats Today Difference
Starting weight: 116.6kgs 104kgs 12.6kgs
Starting neck cms: 35cm 34cm 1cm
Starting 1 arm cms: 47cm 42.5cm 4.5cm
Starting chest cms: 111cm 108cm 3cm
Starting waist cms: 102cm 91.5cm 10.5cm
starting hip cms: 143cm 130cm 13cm
starting 1 thigh cms: 82cm 79cm 3cm

Mmmm, I'm certainly glad that I've dropped that weight and shrunk that much!! Better off than on!
I think after I've completed week 8, I might post some pics.

Hi Vee,
Well done on your weight loss you have done amazing, and what
great support you have from your brother and his wife, and hasn't
he done well also. Having some-one losing weight helps both of you,
I would like my sister to this with me but she isn't ready yet, so I will
ask her again in a little while, I can't force her, but I know it would help
her she would have 10 kg's to lose.
Have a good day
Cheers Jenni

Don't worry about the lack of weight loss, Vee. You can't expect one every single day. The only effect a tspn of psyllium might have is to keep some of your water back (to swell it up), so it could be that. It could be that you didn't sleep well, and your hormones didn't get their chance to work, it could be that your fat was melting away instead, or it might just be that your body is having a pause. I'm on Plateau Island at the moment, you can check on what's happening in Irene's bar with me The cm loss is more important anyway.

Good losses so far. Doesn't it feel great to know you're winning the battle?

Maya told me that 11/1 is a really lucky day to start, all those ones

Thanks Jenni and AJ.

I am happy with my results so far, and funnily enough AJ, I'm not too worried about no loss last week. I figured (after reading on this forum) that I would have lost cms, and that was the case, maybe not huge numbers, but I lost cms!!
So I figured that the weight would drop in the next week again.
I've come to terms that this is going to be a journey for at least 6 months, and I'm not looking for an overnight cure to fat!! I know that doesn't exist, even though I have wished fervently for it for many years!!! AJ, your great attitude to the stubborn fat shifting has been quite an eye opener for me, and I like your approach, so I figured I would adopt it, if that is ok. I guess that is why I was not so upset by no kg loss this week.

Jenni, you go girl! Looking good in that dress in front of your ex! Won't be long and he will be seeing a whole new you! That will feel so great!!

Tonight I cooked the crumbed calamari for my dinner. I've never cooked or prepared calamari before and it was pretty yum! I had lemon juice sprinkled over it! It made a lovely change from chicken and steak!!

I also got a couple of kgs of chicken to mince up so I can make quite a few batches of chicken nuggets, as I find them so yummy and so easy to take for meals out or for a quick feed!

That's it for tonight,
Vee

Vee, I think we all start off wanting to see a loss every day, then become much more accepting of the pace our own bodies want to lose weight. This is stage 1 of a lifetime journey. Admittedly, it's the strictest and we would like a bit less restriction sometimes, but it's giving us the opportunity to become accustomed to eating this way, which is the basis of the way we need to continue. If we can't stick to this regime for a few months, how will we be able to stick to something similar for the rest of our lives?

Thanks AJ, Bitten and Stoddy!
It's great that you visit and read my diary! I'm enjoying yours as well!! Love seeing how you are all going!

AJ, I hear you, and I so get what you are saying about this being stage 1 of the journey. I like the restrictions on this program, as I find it makes it easier for me.

Thanks Bitten, my brother and his wife certainly are cohen stars, they are looking sooooo good now!! My SIL has passed down all the clothes she no longer needs, so I'll have plenty when I get down to that size (all 16s). They are not very far away from refeed, so it will be interesting to hear about their refeed journey as well! I've already had a peek at Faithy's and Hexi's refeed journals - more liike a good read.... and it all sounds so interesting!

Yep, Stoddy, my pants are falling off and I've had to drop down a size... had to go and buy some as I didn't have any smaller pants.
I've been given quite a few size 16s, but that is a bit too soon to fit into, I have a way to go before I'll be able to get into those!

Week 8 day 3

Have to say I was feeling rather grumpy this morning. Another night of not very good sleep! Think I'm going to have to take drastic measures to remedy that!
I spent most of this morning separating out meat bought during shopping yesterday, and parcelling it all up into measured quantities and even making 4 batches of chicken nuggets for convenience when I need them. Boy, it all takes quite a bit of time, and I don't really find it an enjoyable task. That is the only thing I find it so time consuming, but on the other hand, by being so organised, it means better success on the program for me, so it's all balanced out!

Vee

Hi Vee

Thanks for your visit to my diary.

Congratulations on your loss - must feel great. Clothes are a bit of a challenge, aren't they - it's so nice when you can fit into something smaller, but it's a pain having to spend good money on something that you hope won't fit you for very long.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble sleeping. Do you have any remedies in mind? I'm OK unless I have caffeine - I seem to be much more sensitive to it on this diet.
I don't mind the weighing and parcelling, except that I have been known to give the dog the little extra bits, and now all my weighing is done with a panting and hopeful nose nuzzling my knee. She's actually on a diet too after her recent vet visit, but she definitely has less self-control than me (I, for example, never go through the rubbish bin!).

Good luck with the sleep!

LiM

Week 8 Day 4

Not much to report today. I decided to have a go and try black coffee with out anything else in it. It is bearable, can't say I love it!! So long as it's the Moccona Indulgence, only 1/2 a tsp so not too strong. I initially thought I couldn't have any caffeine on this program so I have been totally without for the first 7weeks!! I don't think I particularly missed it! I have enjoyed the occasional diet coke in the last week though! That and sprite zero is what has kept me going!

Thanks for dropping by LIM
I think the only solution to getting better sleep for me is moving into a place of my own, but it's rather complicated, so will have to have a serious think on it.
We also have a dog who loves the little extra bits, and she is there everytime she sees me working with the food to prepare it for the week. She LOVES me being on this program!! :lol

Hey Vee!!
I also like the restrictions on Cohens and i really love not making decisions. Trying to work out "good" vs "bad" food in the past stressed me out and the guilt of making wrong choices haunted me so i find the lack of decision making on the program really liberating!

Good work on the dropping pants, and i also look forward to seeing your pics soon!
Take care.

Week 8 Day 5

A sneak peak on the scales this morning has shown a 1kg drop from last Friday! Wooo hooo!! Happy about that of course!!
Can't wait to be under 100kgs!
I was rather surprised by the drop of a kg, as my sleeping still sucks! Last night woke up around 1.30am and couldn't get to sleep
anymore, so just lay in bed and dozed a bit till 7ish. It's pretty frustrating as it is when we sleep that our bodies are busy getting rid
of that fat. I can only assume this is happening for a reason and wait to find out what that reason is, as I'm sure it will be revealed
in its own sweet time!

Lately I have found I have been procrastinating with a lot of important things in my life. Funnily enough, not with this program,
and for that I'm grateful. It's probably because this forum is here that I've felt so motivated and I have learnt so much from everyone
here. I've been procrastinating about what to do with my living situation, about my studies (which are important as they will lead into
my future job, which will be my livelihood). So I need to find out why I'm doing this. Guess it's probably a form of self sabotage,
just for a change it's not the weight issues that I'm sabotaging!

Hi FBB, TraceyC and Connie, thanks for dropping in and saying hi!
Indeed Connie, having the meat all prepacked is definitely a strategy for success on this program, because it is so worth it when it can just be grabbed.

Have a great day everyone!

Vee
