Thanks AJ and Louise, today I feel MUCH better am pleased to say. Guess we all have those days that are less than wonderful . Just helps me to get it out in my diary, even if I do seem like a big old whiner .

I had an early spring cleaning session today getting rid of old toys, then we all took the dog for a nice walk to the park. It's a lovely day today so was good to get out in the fresh air, can tell spring is almost upon us on days like this. I was tempted to weigh this morning, just felt like I could do with a bit of a motivation boost, but I resisted, will try to hang out until Thursday.

This morning I made bunny rabbit shaped pancakes with blueberries and strawberries for eyes & mouth for the kids - was so cute they loved them. Made a big bear face for dad he thought he was very special.

Hope everyone is feeling especially slim today and having great losses.

Suzie

Your diary is here mainly for your benefit, Suzie. Put down whatever you are feeling and get it out. If you are feeling low, it might help to have some cheering messages. We all have days like that, and can sympathise.

Hake is okay, In. I must look out for that.

Inn, I didn't think we could have the commercial frozen fish??? I was under the impression it had to be raw and fresh from the deli. Most of the commercial packets like I&J, Birdseye etc are precooked and my plan says we can't have precooked anything.

Maybe I'm wrong, hope I am coz I have some yummy I&J 97% fat free hake in my freezer right now that I love but haven't been able to have! I will post on the Cohen's discussion board and see if anyone can tell us. AJ do you know the answer to this one?? I'm sure those packets you can buy are all precooked, they wouldn't be raw.

Louise, I love cooking for the family - it can be a hassle time wise in the evenings but on a lazy Sunday morning it's fun for me to do something different. I actually got the idea for the animal shaped pancakes from a dvd I watched yesterday called 27 Dresses with Katherine Heigl in it - good girly movie. I really wasn't tempted by the pancakes, sure they would have tasted good but I remember the bloated sleepy feeling I get after eating them so was a bit turned off by that. Just had my yoghurt and black coffee, happy with that.

Must go do some ironing, the joy......

bye

Suzie

It's raw when i look at it. I don't think it matters if it is frozen- just have to weigh it when defrosted. Which can be a pain. But it's ok to have frozen prawns calli etc. Just defrost measure and cook.

hummm, I had another look, and sure it's ok. if it is plain and no batter, sauces etc. We can have tin frozen etc, as long as not cooked.

But ask the clinic to be sure.

Yes, Suzie, must be raw, but I think it's okay if it's frozen, and with nothing added. I bought some frozen green prawns last week, and discovered when I got them home that they are marinated. I bought more today that are not, and DH will happily eat the marinated ones.

DH does the washing and ironing in our house.

Default Week 2 Day 6

Thanks AJ and Inn, I will have to check out that fish as I really didn't like the fresh hake I bought from the deli....our cats have been eating it instead .

Question about digital food scales....I am frustrated with mine as the weight seems to change on them sometimes. Example is I'll weigh my chicken to the exact gram, bag it and put in fridge (not freezer), then when I get it out the next day or that evening to cook I weigh it again just to make sure it's correct and it is a few grams less or more than original weight, so frustrating! They are quite good scales from Target, cost $40 so shouldn't be having this problem. Does this happen to anyone else

Anyway, yesterday was a good day, quite busy. I had to go to a fete committee meeting at the school last night and when I got there they had a couple of bottles of wine cracked open for everyone, pleased to say did not touch a drop. Plus it was red and I like chardonnay so wasn't too hard to resist .

Hubby said on Sunday he can tell that I'm losing weight already so was happy about that. I can't tell by looking at myself but definitely in my clothes, my jeans are starting to hang in the crotch area....not a good look. But I'll have to keep wearing them for a few more weeks until I can fit into my size 12 pants - belt may be in order.

AJ you spoiled thing!!! Hubby does all the washing and ironing at your place - send him round please?? I blame my MIL for hubby's lack of domestic knowledge, he is the youngest of 7 (so baby of the family) and has never ironed a shirt or cooked a meal in his life (apart from a chicken tonight dish once a year)! Before we moved in together he used to eat meat pies for dinner every night, very gourmet LOL.

I got him to give ironing a go one time but it was too painful to watch....the shirt was being tortured so I stepped in. I vowed that I will teach my sons from an early age how to do things for themselves so their poor future wives don't get stuck with everything!

Better go do something productive, hope everyone has a lovely day.

Suzie

Hi Suzie

I've been away for a few days but I'm back. Good for you for sticking with the program, sometimes it can be a bit tough and the emotions...oh boy! We used to keep them at bay with food and these days there's nowhere to hide!

You're in for the next !00% Cohens Challenge which starts this Friday, great to have you with us.

x

Thanks Loulou, looking forward to the 100% challenge - another way to keep me honest and on track .

I've been really busy the last couple of days and am loving it. I'm gonna try and keep it up coz then I have no time to even think about food and it also stops me worrying so much about the little things .

I've decided to go into my clinic for weigh ins every fortnight just to keep me accountable etc and tomorrow is my first fortnightly weigh in. I made the appointment for 6.30pm and I'm thinking I should have made it for early in the morning now as I would weigh less then before all the water.....oh well, the first time I was weighed there it was in the evening so suppose it doesn't matter. I'm still going to update my ticker going by my scales as I hop on in undies, Lord knows I don't need the extra kg's from jeans and jumpers as well!!

I can't wait to go shopping and get some more prawns, bit sick of the chicken and I'm not a big beef eater. Might try the calamari as well, feels like a real treat for me to have seafood as I normally only prepare it for special occasions so I'm loving it.

My parents will be visiting from the coast at the end of the month and I haven't told them about my diet or that I've lost any weight so I'm really looking forward to seeing them and to see if they can notice a change. I think they will notice because last time I saw them my mum said "oh you've lost weight I can see it in your face" and that was after I'd only lost maybe 3kg if that. If I lose 6kg this month (fingers crossed) I will have lost another 9kg since last seeing them so that would be great . I know they were concerned about my weight a couple of months ago as I was just getting bigger every time I'd see them, it will be nice to show them I'm doing something about it.

Better go, I can hear hubby snoring on the lounge so must be time for bed.

Seeya

My husband took over the washing and ironing when he retired and I was still working, Suzie, and I've never taken it back. For years, I washed and ironed a dozen shirts a week for years. He took over after most of the ironing disappeared.

Do you take your protein out of the bag before weighing again? The weight would then drop if some fluid has leaked out during defrosting. A new battery also might help. My scales seem to move around a bit if the battery is getting low.

Thanks AJ. I don't think I need a new battery as it's brand new It could have something to do with some of the juices being left in the bag I suppose - good point.

Default Week 3 Day 2

Well I weighed yesterday and can move my ticker down another 1.4kg this week, very pleased with that .

Inn, yes you are right, it's easy to do something little and stuff up isn't it? Always have to be vigilant that we are on track 100% - I read my program again last night just to make sure I'm good. I don't think I stuffed up too badly though, just 1g here or there with the protein weighing was frustrating me as I want it to be exactly right.

I wore my jeans yesterday and don't think I'm going to get much more milage out of them, they are hanging off me. It is great to see but tricky coz I don't think I'll fit into my size 12's yet so I'm in between sizes . Might check out my wardrobe today to see what I can put together.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and shed some fat while we're at it.

Suzie

Good loss, Suzie. Congratulations. Checking out the wardrobe is worth doing weekly, as you will find that if you wait too long you will be to small for something you've never worn.

Great loss Suzie

I love trying on my old clothes once a week, always something else fits it's amazing. I wore my size 14 jeans for the first time in years last week (they used to be my big jeans!!!) and my Hubby said I'd left it too late, they already looked too big for me. I think it's just because my bottom disappears quite quickly when I lose weight, I've still got plenty of tummy!

All the best for the 100% challenge too.

x

Default Week 3 Day 4

Thanks for the encouraging words AJ, Inn and Loulou. I hadn't actually tried any of my smaller clothes on yet, thought it would be to early in the game for that. I didn't have time today to go through much but did try on one top that was given to me a couple of months ago and it was way to tight around my upper arms and now it fits! It's amazing how quickly the dress size goes down isn't it? I could not even wear my jeans about a month ago and now they are too big, crazy stuff and i'm loving it.

Loulou, my bb's have been the first to go which is always the same for me . But the rest of me is catching up so can't complain about it.

I went to the shops today to get some birthday pressies off layby and walking past the clothes I was thinking to myself I won't look now but in a few months watch out coz I'm going shopping BIG TIME!! I warned hubby as well. It will be so nice to be able to buy short sleeved tops and fitted clothes and know that I look good in them, last summer was horrendous. I actually had a panic attack because I was in there for so long looking and trying on so many clothes but they all looked hideous or didn't fit, it's just the worst feeling. So next time I go clothes shopping it will be a whole different story for me and I'm so looking forward to it .

Anyhoo, I'm still 100% on plan which I'm proud of. I do have fleeting moments where chocolate or wine pop into my head but I switch that off pretty quickly. Have had a couple of late lunches this week so in turn have had dinner later which is a pain but other than that no drama's on the Cohens side of things pleased to say. One thing that is bugging me is my fingernails.......my God, they are SHOCKING, they are paper thin and splitting where the skin is underneath so a bit painful. I bought some Blackmores Hair,Skin and Nails today so hope that will help but it says on the bottle takes 12 weeks to work....I don't think I'll have any fingernails left by then .

Better go, we are just about to watch a dvd. I hope everyone is doing well and feeling slimmer by the day.

Bye

Suzie
