Default I Am New To This! 1 Week Down

HELLO - I have just completed week one of the Cohen program. And am a bit unsure of Why I'm doing this (writing in the forum I mean)?!!! I have posted photos - just awful. But enough to inspire me to continue on the program for the 18 weeks I am allowing. I find that I have days where I'm not hungry, and then others where I am positively famished, and having eaten all my fruit and crackers by 4pm, I'm really struggling to just have a small meal at dinnertime. I'm doing ok with the 3 ltrs water, no probs there, but still have carb cravings !! When will this stop?
My purpose is to lose the 18+ kg I need to lose, and complete my refeeding by Xmas, as I'm hoping to fall pregnant again before the end of this year... so hence the bub's bottle on my counter.
Anyway, I think that's all. Would be nice to meet some people who are also just starting.
Thanks

P.S My profile pic is of me when I was heavily involved in body sculpting in 2004, before the birth of my daughter... so that's where I'm aiming to be back at by Xmas.

I've post in your other threads already, Ruby. However, I have similar food experiences to you. I go from breakfast to lunch with no trouble. I usually start to feel hungry mid afternoon, and have fruit and crispbread then. I usually feel mildly hungry from that time on until bedtime. I also have fruit and crispbread at the end of dinner. It may be that it's an old memory. I used to start snacking late afternoon, and through the evening. Try to spread your food out so you regularly have the same foods at the same times, and at the times you are most hungry.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.
What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/
Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi New Ruby,

I like your thinking by only "allowing yourself" 18 weeks on the program. Gives a sense of urgency right?

I started this week too...and am going through the same things as what you are describing.

I would love to lose all my weight by Christmas, but I think mine will more likely be by the end of Jan. But, hey, set your mind to something and who knows what will happen right?

Hi New Ruby,

OMG, it would be fantastic. I know you know what I am talking about!! I wish I had done what you are doing (losing weight before you have another baby). I didn't do that between No1 and No2 kids, and am paying the price now...three years later!

Do you think 7 kg is too much for a first goal for month 1? I am worried I have set my goals too high....

Hi guys,
Dont set yourself up with "amounts" to lose by certain times. Just stick to the program and let your body do the rest. Stress will lower weight loss and being disappointed will increase temptation to deviate. Keeping busy helps so maybe in the afternoons set yourself a chore or something to do. Just for the record - 7 kg in a month should not be too hard - but will depend on your body.
This program really works so good luck guys - relax and enjoy the journey

Jayne

Thanks Jayne,
for the words of encouragement.
I guess we each do what works for us. Personally I like the 'challenge' of meeting deadlines and achieving/ exceeding goals... hence my personal 'goals' in my signature.
I set myself 7 kgs in 3 weeks, and look to be on track (losing 4.5kg in week 1 and 1.4kg in week 2). So it would seem that this is a reasonable goal for the first month Chailee.

Hey Ruby,

How are you going with it all? I snuck another peek at the scales today (note to self: stop!), and I was happy with what it told me. I had wanted to do the monthly weigh ins, but I can't help myself I am afraid. At the very least, I need to get back to the weekly ones.

I am sticking to this 100% and am excited by the possibilities....who would have thought that getting down to 63kg could even be possible!!! Especially after 2 children. Well....I have to get there first, in fact, I have to get under 90kg first, and then reassess my goals. Really, my goals just fall in 5kg lots. But my first is above that, as my first goal is to get to 85kg. Can't wait.....

I agree with Jayne, Ruby. There's nothing you can do to speed up your losses, all you can do is slow them down. If you are not achieving your time frame you are likely to stress a bit, and this is one of the things that slows you down. Having said that, your goals certainly look achievable.

Thanks AJ,
Yes, as I said, I guess we do what works best for ourselves. I know this program will work for me because of the 'plan' that I have to follow. No deviations means for an easier time for me. And yes, I too believe my goals are realistic and achievable. Hence I have also tried to ensure that they are structured (the how) and measureable (the losses of kgs and cms), and therefore also time-lined (as per signature goals). So I know this will work.
cheers

Now that I'm not so new any more, I've decided to stop writing in this thread, and just post my thoughts in my diary, and my measurement/ weight loss results in AJ's thread...

So signing off from here now.
