Default Yoghurt

OMG - I have just tasted the Tamar Valley Natural Yoghurt and it is FABULOUS!!

I have been looking for it and a couple of others since it was recommended on this forum.
For anyone who doesn't have a good relationship with yoghurt (this is me too) - it is a great option. I am converted.
I have been having it with Mango in it in the morning and blending them up - and it is so so good. I was using the Jalna Green Lid Fat Free and I was really really struggling. I have compared the two 'nutrition information label' wise and there really isn't too much difference. It is fat free with no preservatives.
I just thought I better put it out there for those that are struggling with yoghurt.
I found it at Woolies - finally!! It hasn't been on the shelves (only the little Tamar Valley flavoured tubs have been) - so perhaps it's worth asking if it's coming to your woolies soon.
Happy Yoghurting to you all...........................

Hey WB

Yes, I am also a Tamar Valley convert! Isn't it just so creamy and delicious??? I can only find it in Foodland at Munno Para and I buy about 6 or 7 tubs as they have quiet a long use by date. I'll keep looking at Woolies but haven't seen it so far...

This is also my absolute favourite... with just one lil tab of dissolved Sugarine, this makes my breakfast a treat every week day It is hard to find though (have just one supermarket that stocks it locally).

Thanks for the tip Wannabeslim!
I've been looking for it at Woolies too, but so far they have not had it at all. I've made do with the Black Swan Greek No Fat yoghurt, which is also lovely and smooth and creamy. I too am not too taken with the Jalna no fat one.... so until I find the Tamar Valley one, I'll be having the Black Swan one!

I totally agree!! I have been looking for it since I started Cohens and I have finally found somewhere that stocks it - just a pitty I found it so late in the journey - not to matter, it will be my regular breakfast anyway!

Default Yoghurt

Hi everyone...

After experimenting with a few different natural yoghurts, im happy to report I have struck gold my friends.

Tamar Valley No Fat Natural Yoghurt. Its about $3.00 for 500g from woolies and it tastes sooo good. Much better than others I have tried and it has also been given the green light from my Cohens Consultant.

Hope this helps if any of you are struggling to find a 'normal' tasting yoghurt.

Hi Sparky,

I have only found the Tamar Valley flavoured yoghurt at my Woolies...I've been having the Jalna green lid and adding a sweetner plus cinamon. I may have to go to a bigger store to find that elusive Tamar Valley.....on the prowl now...

Oh my gosh sorry sorry everyone for basically repeating the first post in this thread - my computer must have been playing up yesterday when I wrote this because for the life of me I could not find any thread already about yoghurt, and when I wrote in it, there were no previous comments. Silly me!!!

Suzie Q im from South QLD and they are available at most woolies here. If your current woolies doesnt stock them, perhaps try requesting that they bring that item in (it will only benefit them if it sells well)???

Default Yet ANOTHER yoghurt question!

Hi everyone

I have searched through the forum to see if there were any posts regarding the yoghurt I bought but couldn't quite find any.

Yesterday I bought 'Yoplait Yoplus Trim.' It is in a green tub. No added sugar and less then 2% fat. However, it has gelatine and thickener - does this matter? I did see some posts regarding 'Yoplait Yoplus' but there is an ORIGINAL one (blue tub) and also a TRIM one (green tub), which is the one I bought. Could anyone tell me if this is acceptable? I bought the trim one as the original was more then 2% fat.

I have been on Cohen's 2 weeks and during that time I was buying a yoghurt called 'Slimmer's Choice.' Its 100% natural, less then 2% fat and it says no added sugar, however, the sugar content on the back says 10g per 150g serve. Now correct me if I am wrong but I thought that might be a little high?

I am in New Zealand so am unsuccessful with being able to buy many of the Yoghurt brands that I have seen mentioned. I would love to know if either of these are ok or if anyone has had these varieties throughout their program?

Thanks everyone, just wanted to clear it up.

HI Hayley

Have you checked with your clinic? They should be able to advise you of which are best.

Have you seen this thread - it may add soon light for you or it may be that it is all about Australian brands that you don't have.

Hope some New Zealanders can shine some local knowledge.

Shanara

Since Gelatine is an absolute No-No, I'd say that yoghurt isn't allowed.

Sorry.

I just got off the phone from my consultant and she said her and the other women at the clinic all have the Yoplait Yoplus Trim. Arrrgh now I don't know what to do... The other yoghurt I was having 'Slimmer's Choice', has no thickner or gelatine, but has a lot more sugar! What to do??!

Ring your consultant back and tell her she's wrong.

Or give me her email address (via PM) and I'll tell her.

Asy,

The the yoghurt that I have been having during my 2 weeks on the program is called 'Slimmer's Choice.' I doubt that anyone in Australia will be familiar with it but here are the facts, it would be great if you could let me know what you think.

Slimmer's Choice
Unsweetened
100% Natural
No added sugar
No artificial sweetener
0.2% fat
10.1g carbs (sugar) per 150g serve

Ingredients:
Skim milk
Milk solids
Cultures

So long as that's the full list of ingredients, it's fine

Enjoy.
