Are you waiting for Diary Approval?

Hi there,

We have SEVERAL members who seem to be waiting for "something to happen" re Diary Approvals. The problem we (Admins/Mods) have is that, if you haven't set up a Diary, then we can't approve it and move it.

Be sure to read post #1 and #3 in that thread.

In short, we don't start diaries now - you do !!
(In earlier years, that job DID fall to Asy - it became too much, so the system has been changed. Please ignore ANY old words that say WE start your diary for you).

If you are an older member returning, please note that "things have changed".

If you haven't started one, we have nothing we can approve, or move...

Even the odd PM we send, or message to you, seems to be overlooked in some cases. So, if YOU are "waiting for something to happen", it might be time for you to make something happen....

I did the diary request the day I started, 29th May, because I had to wait for my program so I could get my Number. I know it takes a couple of weeks but I was wondering if it has been recieved and waiting for approval? I will keep waiting

But if we have started a diary in the New Diaries section and filled a request form then we should just sit tight? Or bombard you with Pm's and queries

Yep, got it in one forfreddie.... The GOOD thing about what we do now, is that YOU start your diary (in the past, it was up to an Admin to do it) - this new way, your diary will simply be moved when the time is right. But prior to that, you can still interact with others - works well !!

For now, just go on, use your diary, and know that it will magically "appear" in the Personal Diaries one day (with a "redirect" in New Diaries, so you know it has moved). There'll be a few happening any day now....


And Jazzi, yep, you're fine - and your day will come...


For all - we don't put up a list of "received" approvals - but, if YOU notice others seem to passing you by, do ask. Usually a 2 to 3 week delay is about normal..... I recall just ONE instance in the last 12 months where someone had completed a Diary Request and it was not received... so it can happen, but not often.

So, if you have done a Diary Request, and a month has gone by, then by all means ask.

Meanwhile, you HAVE a diary, so you can enjoy being a member of this great place - enjoy !!


Meanwhile, I am chasing those who HAVE done a Diary Request, but HAVEN'T started a Diary !! It's a bit hard to promote a Diary when it doesn't exist !! Is this YOU?

I might need to update that comment of mine, Winkie - 'cos the ONLY Diary Request I am seeing from you is dated 2 Feb 11 - there are no others (I looked back to Sep 10). Maybe there have now been TWO instances.... Sorry - you have been "unseen" for earlier moves.

We don't like to "empty out" the New Diaries section, as it is a nice place for new members to settle and make friends - hence the 2 to 3 week delay. I did note that you have been in New Diaries longer than many - but, without a Diary Request (until last week) your Diary move was never considered. You're right up there now though....

Sorry to be a pain.. I started a diary but I didn't put Gina's diary as the subject line. Can this be changed? Instead it says " I'm ready to lose" I should have written that bit in the welcome spot!! I've stuffed up already but let's hope I don't stuff up on the diet!!

Yeah, for now, but not for much longer...

My month's absence didn't help a lot (sorry....) but I am getting back on track, and you (along with others who applied in early August) are "front of line" for the next tranche.



And for any others viewing, even if you have applied 2 or more weeks ago, don't get too concerned - for these reasons :-

1. When Admins are "not around" (for various reasons) things slow up a bit. The good thing is, with the current system, you CAN still start your diary, make friends, etc and be "part of the community".

It didn't happen that way in earlier times, when Asy started ALL diaries.... i.e. you got a new Diary only AFTER you were Approved. We have changed our thoughts since then... and it works MUCH better this newer way.....

2. When new memberships slow a bit, we don't rush to Approve/Move Approved diaries anyway. Having a number of "old hands" with a few weeks under their belts in there too is a lot more welcoming, right?

3. Having a Diary still in New Diaries doesn't prevent you from making friends all round the place.... so go looking, and make new friends anyway.

Time for an update - it has been a slow time, due to a slack hushpuppy

Anyway, for those who might be anxious, tonight I've been able to approve/move a bunch of diaries. Right now, I've handled those who applied in July and August, and I'm moving into early September....

Keep in mind, that we don't want New members to come to an EMPTY New Diaries section, so I usually stop when there are 10 to 15 members left in there. Don't worry - your Diary won't be Deleted (though "old words" might hint at that).

Our way is to ONLY allow people who have their own Cohens Plan to have a diary. If you have applied, and quoted your details, we WON'T be deleting your Diary. And, once the puppy stops sleeping, he'll get around to you too. It might take 4 weeks - or more....

But you can still post, and make friends, and walk the walk - in fact, it is EASIER in New Diaries, as you don't have to look too far to find YOUR diary. Once in Personal, you might need to search in pages 2, 3 or 4, as there are so many more peoples in there.

In short, relax - we won't be deleting anything when WE are the problem... Hope that helps,

I have an hour or so available right now, so will be moving some members into Personal Diaries. Don't worry if you aren't moved this time - I am facing a backlog of over TWO MONTHS worth, and I always Approve those who requested first.

With luck, I'll be able to Approve all of September and October's requests today - but, que sera sera....

Have a read of this whole sticky (go back to post #1 and read on through...)

Soon, you will start to see members being "Moved" into Personal Diaries. If it is not you, don't worry - your time will come. Just keep using your Diary - you won't lose anything when Moved either....


Later:- Almost finished October... I'll catch them up in a day or three, then start on November requests. Meanwhile, there are one or two Requesters who haven't started a Diary. if this is YOU, I can't Approve a non-existent Diary, so please start one (see the stickies up above).

Only time frame is when Koh gets time to do it so just keep diarising and we will get to it. We are aware there is a backlog but just can't get to it, sorry. All mods are volunteers so we do the best we can.

I haven't been into the clinic yet to discuss going back on the program, and I can't find my old program. Does that mean I can't have a diary yet?

Hey AE...

The mods can turn that thread you started called 'step one' and change that into your diary when the time comes and you have your plan number.

Apparently you do need the plan number to start a diary

I'd say you should treat that thread as your diary for now, if you want!
