Default Excited, Yet Daunting

Hi Everyone - This is my very first post. I have just received my program. Doing lots of reading at the moment and have organised my start date for 29th March. I guess I'm normal in feeling this level of apprehension.....I have a fair amount to lose, 74kg! But based on everything I have heard and read about the program I'm excited at the journey that lies ahead and more importantly the different person I will be in 6 months time!!!!

Good luck!

Hi there Gstring!

Welcome to the forum and the Cohen's family!
You can betcha you will be a different person by the end of this journey!
The great thing is that this forum is a great help in dealing with all the changes you go through!
It's so exciting embarking on this journey and knowing you are doing something so good for yourself!
A tip is to make yourself some smaller goals to focus on rather than overwhelming yourself with the total amount you will lose! It helps to make the journey a little easier and more quickly achievable!

Have a great journey!

Vee

Welcome Gstring *GIGGLES*

Welcome to the best place on earth for support during your journey, you will find info, recipes and friends who will get you threw the next few months.
Like you i had a lot to loose 83kg to be exact but i have been on Cohen's now for about 30 weeks and glad to say i got about 23kg to go so the only advise i can give you as a sister Cohenite who had a lot to loose is just stick with it, be 100% and because we have a long journey it helps to mix you food around that way it doesn't get boring (we all know what happens when we get bored with things lol) and that weight will just melt off to the sheer amazement of your family and friends who will not recognize you in a few months

Hey Gstring - yep I also had about 70 to lose when I started 8 weeks ago (about to have my second weigh in today so looking forward to moving my ticker)!.
My advice would be to stick to it 100%, stick to this forum 100%, and allow your body to lose at the rate it will (inspite of what your clinic may say) - mine implied I could lose it in 6 months but that is not going to prove to be the case and I have to adjust my expectation and realise that whatever the time frame it is still quick in comparison to anything I have done before.
I am really please with the changes already in 8 weeks as I know you will be.
Congrats on a great choice!

Hi G string,

Welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on making such a big decision as embarking on Cohens. Yes, it is a committment and at times can be challenging but i have a feeling you will rise to the challenges and be standing in front of the mirror this time next year and like who you see very much.

Don't be daunted by how much you have to loose. Quite frankly, my experience of people on the forum is that usually those who have most to loose just knuckle down and get on with it taking one step at a time and loving the process and how their body feels when they are on programme. I am sure you will too.

This sounds like a diary starting in this thread so if you would like me to move it to the new diaries section and change the name of the thread to - G strings diary or what ever else you would like to call it let me know. I have magic powers and can make that happen ... lololol. Just joking but i can do that for you.

Enjoy the journey,
Shanara

Love the name Hee Hee. I'll giggle every time I read a post from you. I'm a newby too - yet to have first weigh in. I've got about 48 to lose so we'll be sharing the journey for many months to come. Good luck.

Oi, settle down, you lot

Nothing wrong with "G string" as a name..... Signifies the third string on most guitars.... E, B, G, D, A, and E - sounds good to me. Harmonious even? (Well, no, not really - a strummed guitar with no fingers on the frets selected sounds AWFUL!!)

Are you a muso perchance, Gstring?

Hi G-String,
I hope your 1st day went ok. I too have a lot of weight to lose (73kg) and the thought of that made me sick when I first heard it. But I am not letting that get me down. So once I started, which was only a week ago, I've been 100% focused and lost 7.2kg in my first week!!! So good luck with your journey and make sure you keep us updated on your progress.
Mel
PS I'm in Brissy as well so maybe we can be Cohen Buddies since we have the same amount of weight to lose and live in the same city...
