Chocolate!!!!
Any suggestions to stop this horrible habit. Sometimes I even manage to "walk away" for some time, but always end there. Vicki |

Hi Vicki
You're not alone! I absolutely love chocolate but the most amazing thing has happened since I've been on Cohen's because I no longer crave it. It's the first time on any diet or eating plan that I haven't had chocolate cravings and you may find that when you've been "clean" for a little while you will also find the cravings disappear. Yes, the first few days are hard but when you get into the "zone" things start changing for the better. You may find that if you continue to struggle with the chocolate cravings, taking a magnesium tablet will help. Prior to Cohen's I found that if I was consistent with taking my daily magnesium I didn't suffer from the "need to have chocolate". Well done for the times you do manage to walk away from the choccies. No one else notices every time you resist the urge but you do, and your body does and will be happy you did. Keep going and before you know it you will have a new habit Good Luck. Louise |

HI Vicki
Didn't know we were allowed to swear so badly in here ........isn't that what the c word is? There is something in chocolate that makes our body think its getting iron - or that's what i have read somewhere so perhaps eating more red meat and eating spinach and parsley will help. have my times of being a hopeless chocoholic yet funny thing is ..if i can stay away from it the cravings get less. Since I started Cohens have not craved chocolat - which is not to say it wouldn't be nice. Yet I have just said to myself - no - you are not having it - end of story - so far so good. Someone in here suggested that chocolate nad cakes etc is just poison for our bodies ...that works for me. Keep up the great losses. Shanara

I used to eat chocolate, it too helped me cope with stressful situations- it hit the emotional spot but also the hips LOL
The first week or so was the hardest not to think about eating chocolate, I no longer crave for it. I said to myself it's not on the list so no way, I also stopped buying chocolate for my kids so I couldn't sneak any or have it for temptation- now it doesn't bother me. Good luck |

Throw out any you have in the house. Don't allow yourself to buy any more.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time. My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight. What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/ |

Yep, chuck that chocolate out! I'm a chocoholic myself (currently in remission)!
This program will prevent cravings initially, but they will come back because it is an emotional craving. Doing this program will mean you will have to face the emotional reasons you have for eating. It is a wise idea to start practising strategies for the times when you may get those cravings, so that you can resist the cravings when they do occur. The Beck Diet Solution is an excellent tool in putting strategies in place as well as addressing sabotaging thoughts. I got mine from www.fishpond.com.au . You can even get it in cd form, which makes it great for listening to on an ipod etc. You will have to decide that there is no room for chocolate on this program, there is NO CHOICE and stick with your decision to not eat it and lose your weight. You will have to decide which is more important to you. Vee |

Yeah, I am a chocoholic too. I have thrown it all out. As the Beck Diet Solution says, it's either wasted in the trash, or wasted in your body....

Hi Vicki
I struggle with the same problem, I could NEVER EVER walk away from choc, and if i did walk away i would jst end up eating even more later. I find myself constantly think about chocolate and get extremely depressed when i know that everyone around me eats it on a daily basis. I think it's just one of those things that we are going to have learn to live with, we are not blessed with the ability to be thin and eat what we want, but we are blessed with the knowledge that , no matter how good it tastes, it is damaging for our bodies and it's a lesson that we , as cohenites learn to accept earlier rather than later! And i know in the case, no one can tell u that moderation is the key, cause there is no such thing as "just one bite".. maybe it's best to completely cut it out of ur life and never have just one lick. Quality food should be the only thing entering our new and healthy and slim bodies, they deserve the treat Chikita |

Hi Vicki
i am a big chocolate lover too and thought i would never manage on Cohens - however surprisingly the cravings have gone away! but as Vee says we are left with the mental cravings. One thing I have noticed about myself is that at times I have been very overweight and not caring, i have started to look at the shelves of chocolate bars thinking, I can have any of them I want. I realised that this behaviour is like a child, and that just because I couldnt have as many choc bars as i wanted when a kid, doesnt mean i should buy them all now! I have come to the conclusion that I need to grow up! We all have different reasons for overeating but underneath it can be a feeling that for whatever reason, we shouldn't be deprived of the comfort that comfort-eating gives. good luck and stay strong!! hmmmmm..choc..it's a dream. And yes..you are right..the craving does go away but it's the idea of having it that's even worse. At least with the first you had an excuse....Tonight my in laws gave some pastries and i realised that i didn't really yearn for them but wanted them just because they were there. But i told myself that maybe i can have in 2 months when i'm done but in moderation of course ..so i abstained...yay
