Default It's been 2 Months

Hi all,
This is my first time posting. It's been a 2 month journey and I've lost about 10 kg so far. It's slower than the average but any weight loss is great for my body. Thanks for this lovely support group. I feel so encouraged everytime i read the posts in this forum.

Hi Setapartgirl

I hope your screen name doesn't make you feel less a part of the NYF team - welcome to your first posting and congratulations on 10 kilo's that is absolutely fabulous - I bet you are really feeling wonderful. Dont worry about speed you are in this to win it right so no matter how long it takes - you will get to your goal because everyone loses at different rates. As long as you continue to lose you are on the right track. Well done on coming out and joining the posters with a journal.

Have a great week.

Hi Setapartgirl! Congrats on your success - 10kgs in two months - that's awesome. Slow and steady wins this race my dear besides, it's a marathon not a sprint! I don't know where I'd be without the beautiful people on this forum the support is so valuable because we're all in the same boat. So good on you for starting a post, have you started a diary yet? I find this helps me heaps especially when I think about being naughty and want to pig out on something that's not in my program! LOL! I also use the diary section to ramble on about my thoughts, feelings and emotions because this journey is not without it's challenges. So please, by all means, feel free to check out the diaries and start you're own, I love reading and posting on other people's threads and it always makes me feel better to say something positive and encouraging to someone else. Anyway's, I don't want to hijack your post so I'll get going. Looking forward to reading more about you and your journey.
Hugs
Andie

Hi Tes and Andie,
Thanks for the encouragement. I definitely feel like a part of this NYF team for everyone is so supportive.

Just went for a retreat for 2 days and have not been able to fully stick to the programme. Will have to make up for in the coming days ahead. I look forward to reporting better news next time!

That's great that you're feeling better, I try to be as inclusive and supportive as possible cos I am living the struggle everyday (I'm a self confessed food addict - Hi my name's Andie and I'm addicted to food! LOL) Just remember not to beat yourself up too much when you deviate, otherwise you may end up in a negative spiral and that's much worse as it can lead to more difficulties. The important thing I was told by my clinic, was that if I am in a situation where I can't weigh my food etc that I stick to the concept of protein and veg combo, but watch out for those hidden nasty sugars and such. This journey is more a mental challenge as it is a physical one however, there are some really exciting benefits in store for you! Can't wait to read more, let me know when you get your diary up and running.
Hugs
Andie

Hi Scruffy's Mum,
We're all here to encourage each other, so let's persevere on!

Btw, any ideas on how we can fill in the hunger pangs without the crackers? I've been succumbing to a sore throat and the crackers are not helping.

10kg in 2 months is not so slow dear. Well, Andie is right... it's not a sprint though. What important is you get to end of your goal no matter how long, just keep going! Welcome to NYF and hope you'll have fun and encouraging stay here.

Hi I lost slower my first time too but I didn't realize I was deviating because I was not following the 5 hour window between breakfast and lunch. I never cheated not once the whole time I was on plan or refeed so almost 4 months yet my blood work came back that I had deviated. In corresponding with my online counselor the 5 hour window came up and that was it! It doesn't seem like it would be a big deal but it was.

You are doing great! Keep up the great work. As long as it keeps coming off, that's what matters

Hi Andie,
Thanks for stopping by. This week has been tough as I had a number of lunches at work and a mother's day dinner. But thank God that weight loss continued to happen, albeit more slowly. Am sitting here at my computer now thinking about what to cook for dinner as I'm starting to get bored with the recipes that I know.

I'm heading for hols in 2 weeks time, and I'm starting to get a bit stressed out as the common street food seems to be laden with carbohydrates. I will continue to pray for strength to hang on. =)

Hi Setapartgirl,
Don't stress too much just follow the concept of protein and vege combination, steer clear of grains and sugar and you should be right.
Just make sure that you don't eat too much as eyeballing portion control is hard!
The downside is that you might not record a loss while you're away, upside is that you might not have gained either.
Fingers crossed for you darl. If you get really concerned, call your clinic, this is what mine told me and it helped calm me down.
Hugs Andie

Hello Setapartgirl

I am in the same boat as you. My weight loss is very slow. How did you know that you deviated based on the blood test? Mine just says that a few reminders and I thought that did not really mean I deviated but mostly that my counselor is just reminding me.

For going on trips I bought a portable weighing scale. I get so anxious about gaining and so I bought it. Not sure if that would help you but that is what i did.

Yunik

Hi Yunik,
I didn't know about deviation from the blood test. It's just what I had been eating. Will try your idea of bringing a portable weighing machine around. Hopefully it'll help me control my eating somewhat.
