Default My journey is almost done! Love this AMAZING program!

Hello everyone!

I have been on my Cohen's journey since the beginning of September 2014 and have gone from 125.1 kgs to 71.3 kgs... I have been keeping a diary of my Cohen's experience on the froum that is accessed through the Cohen's website... I wish I had known about this one from the beginning... hahaha

I thought I would add in the link to my diary so far for anyone who is interested in having a look... http://www.cohens.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=561

I am now onto the last 6-7 kilos before I can start refeed and I must say I am finding these last kilos incredibly hard to shift... it's like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but it is just out of reach! I am determined to make it to the end though!!

I am looking forward to getting lots of inspiration from the diaries on this site... hope you are all going well and powering ahead on this weight loss road!

allie

Hi everyone!

I'm not sure how I am feeling today... a little disheartened and deflated I think is the best way to describe it...

I contacted my consultant yesterday as I am nearing the end of my extended support contract (extend for the 2nd time) as I wanted to know what the next steps would be. I have 5 weeks left on my current contract and I was told that if I am not able to lose these last 6 kilos by the time my contract is up then they won't be able to order my re-feeding program Unfortunately there is no option to extend again... on 3rd September 2015 I will have been on the Eating Plan part of the Cohen's Program for 12 months and that is the most you can do and still be able to receive a Re-feeding Plan...

I am feeling so disappointed and a little angry (at myself mainly) because I don't want to have come this far - from 125.1 kilos to around 71 kgs and not get to the main goal of learning what my body needs to maintain the new me for life! My consultant did say that they can give me guidelines on how to introduce additional foods over a 3 week period but it will not be a program specifically designed for me...

Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely determined to lose as much of these last 6 kilos as I can in the next 5 weeks but if I don't make it to 65 then that's it! (65 kgs is 2 kilos above my Dr Cohen goal range of 60-63) I mostly blame myself because I have had slip ups along the way and I feel that if I had been able to stay 100% on plan for the entire time I would be on my re-feeding plan by now... it is just so upsetting that I may not get the chance to truly complete my Cohen's journey when I have come SO far....

Anyway, time to pull myself together and keep on tracking... fingers crossed for me everyone!! The count down is on!

Hi Allie

Your story is so inspirational, you've motivated me. I'm just starting (for the 2nd time) and I know I have a long journey ahead of me.

As far as getting to your re-feed program, why don't you use this as a last ditch attempt at reaching the finish line, up your water intake and stick to plan 100%. I know how difficult it can be, but turn this negative into a positive and use it as a motivator. You can do this.

You can get there - try to think about the last bit as a pregnancy - can't drink alcohol = can't eat off plan....

It's such a short time - and you are so close.... Refeed seems to be such an important part of the journey from what I've read and heard.

Thanks so much for your lovely words of encouragement after my meltdown last week - you guys are such fantastic support

I have managed to turn my brain around and look at the disappointment I felt last week as a positive... these last 5 kilos are now a new incentive to be completely focused on reaching the ULTIMATE goal - obtaining my re-feeding program... so I am over the moon to report that I am now under 70 kilos!!! OMG - I could never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would where I am today!! Totally gobsmacked!

I am feeling much better this week! Had an appointment with my Cohen's consultant this morning and she really did help me to put things into perspective - she also believes I can make it but she did give me more information about the "stabilization instructions" they offer if I am not able to get my personalised re-feeding program. I am not so worried about it now, which is a good thing!

I have my final ever Cohen's blood test tomorrow and then a weigh in on 18/8/2015... keeping my fingers crossed for a 2kg loss by then!!

YOU CAN DO THIS. I wasnt going to post on anyones diary because Im feeling quite deflated with my gain but I wanted to tell you that Im supporting you from the side and I really really want you to get to the end.

You can make this happen - the most important thing is keeping your head in the game and the food and water stuff will follow!

Hi Tes,

Thank you so much for your kind words... sometimes the 'end' can seem like it is so far away but I am getting there slowly.

I hope you are feeling a little better today and getting back on track... you also CAN DO THIS

Oh wow Allie! You're going great guns babe. And the losses! 125 to 70 what an amazing effort. You are an inspiration to me. I started at 131 am at 108 and need to get to 75/80. It's a slow learning journey with some hiccups along the way but definitely worth it and you're reaping the rewards.
Well done!

Hi Everyone!

Had my second last EP weigh in today and am pleased to report that I am down another 2 kilos! Getting sooooo close to re-feed now I can smell the new foods hahaha... My consultant told me this morning that I will be able to order my re-feeding plan when I hit 66 kilos so I have my fingers crossed sooo tight that I reach this by the 1st Sept which is the last day to order my personalised re-feed program before my 12 months on the eating plan are up! Just gotta keep plugging on!!!

These last few kilos are the hardest to shift by far!! The way my wonderful Cohen's consultant describes it is that to lose the last few kilos to goal weight we are trying to shift the oldest fat in our bodies, we have been holding onto it for such a long time that our body is reluctant to let it go but if we persevere it WILL let it go - and it seems she was right!!! I would NEVER have ever imagined or dreamed that I would look at a set of scales and see my weight in the 70s let alone the 60s!!! When I first saw thr goal weight Dr Cohen had set for me I thought "I am not even going to get close to that... it is ridiculous"... how wrong was I!!

Hang in there everyone... this program is very strict but sooooo worth it in the end!!

allie

Hi Allie

I can relate to that! It felt much easier to loose 34kg than it is now to shed the last few kgs. I have some advice for you, I'll pm you.

Have a great day.
