How close to your goal weight were you when you started feeling really hungry?
For those of you who have finished or are on refeed, how close to your goal weight did you get before starting to feel really hungry again? From what I have read (and from my consultant), feeling ravenous is a sign that your body has used up most of its fat for energy and now needs more calories. I have 4 kg to go and dreading feeling hungry again like I did in the first 3-4 days. So far I have been fine. I have the odd 'hungry day' but nothing that a decaf coffee or glass of water won't fix. I am wondering it myself because I sometimes feel hungry but it is not always. I always wonder if it was due to TOM, PMS or simply because of my mind tricking me. I am also not sure if I am visualizing my current physique objectively. I know a lot of people around me has been telling me I look ok now but I still think I have excess fat. I don't trust my parents' feedback because they are so used of an overweight daughter for too long.

hi mum,
I never really got the hungries but I stopped losing weight until I went on refeed and then i lost a couple more kilos down while on refeed. |

Hi Mum ..
I had various stages over my program time that I felt hungry.. but THAT hunger I experienced was about 3 kilos above my goal.. I hung in there for another 1.5 kilos.. it's important to understand that not everyone experiences this & not only that, you MUST understand the difference between feeling hungry & that I want to tear off my arm & eat it .. |

I have had periods of excessive hunger through out the whole program, usually they last 2-3 days then I am right again. If I get this and think I can lose a bit more I will wait a few extra days to see if it goes away .... if it doesnt go away I will start refeed. I think if I am pretty close I will finish and start an exersise program because maybe it will be just toning I need.

Im really interested to weigh in on this topic also. Im getting close to my range (56-59) and while im hungry, i dont think its gotten to that "i could rip my arm off and eat it whole" stage. I think i still have a little bit of fat on my stomach and hips (but that could be me still seeing "the fat girl" in the mirror). Its so hard cos my mum is now saying she thinks ive lost enough and that she wants me to stop. Ive tried to explain that there are signs for when im ready and everything but she just thinks its getting dangerous. Should i hang in there for a little bit longer or start re-feed? As much as i would love to hang in there, i am ready for larger quantities of food!!! Any comments are appreciated

I have just started my second week and I am finding today really hard as everyone at work is trying to offer me cupcakes!!!! Feeling really hungry no where near as much as first week.

Firefox, i have sent a couple of emails to them (im a distance customer) and as i spend all day at uni i cant call them. I havent heard anything back as of yet.

At about 4kg above goal I was burst into tears, tear the couch apart and eat the stuffing hungry... It was awful! It was one feeling I will NEVER forget ....

Thanks to everyone for your replies. Shell, as usual you have provided another thread link that has answered all my questions...and more!
3.5kg to go, not hungry yet (hoping I will be one of the lucky few that don't experience this) but having sleepless nights. If I wake up at 3 or 4am it takes me a good 1-1.5 hours to get back to sleep. So basically I am tired during the day. Hopefully will reach goal weight soon so I can start refeed. |

Mum of 3 - What time do you go to bed? Lately I am waking up at 4+am to 5am daily. Yes, i am tired but it is easily remedied with STRONG coffee.
