Default Anyone tried just 3 meals a day, 5 hrs apart?

Just wondering about new ways to mix it up, keep the program new and different. Has anyone experimented - or does anyone actually do this - that is, just have 3 meals per day with snacks incorporated into them?

So, breakfast with crackers and or fruit
then 5 hrs minimum
lunch with crackers and or fruit
then 5 hrs minimum
evening meal with crackers and or fruit

So no actual snacks, just 3 larger meals spaced out say 5.5hrs apart?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Who knows, maybe anyone who does has faster weight loss, or not? Any opinion welcome. Pandora

Hi Maggie Pan,

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what Faithy did - check out her diary to be sure..... And, yeah, she did pretty good in the "losses per month" too. Could be a good experiment...

Thanks for that Koh, you truly are a wonder! And yes, Faithy does mention the 3 meals a day only pretty early on in her diary. I might well give it a try -something different cos i can! I want to nuke away all those old beliefs i have about low blood sugar cravings late afternoon etc etc - its all just a habit way of thinking i can get through it and experience something different! Many seem to face this, Pan - have you tried the "bigger meals earlier in the day"? (The old "meal mix-up" - seems to work for some). Others find chromium tablets and/or an extra vitamin also helps somewhat..

Good idea "keeping it fresh" though - whatever works within the rules is all good eh? You could run out of time to try ALL of the variations though you'll be done so quick.....

I did that almost entirely while on phase 1 of the programme heheheh. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Hi Pandora

I have been on the program for 8 weeks and i do only have the 3 meals a day I just have the fruit and crackers (if i want them) with my meal and it seems to be working for me ie:approx 20kg in 8 weeks.

Hope this helps

99% of the time I have my crackers and fruit with my meals rather than inbetween.

Hi there!

I'm on day 2 of week 2, and I'm going that route... 3 meals a day, add ur crackers/fruit to make it a bigger meal. Or have the fruit as desert. I've lost 5.5kg in my first week.

One question though. I don't always eat my 5 crackers a day as per allowed. Would that be a problem?

Charmaine,

You are supposed to eat all fruit and crackers for the first ten days, then it's up to you whether you continue eating them.

I am doing this also...I find crumbling my crackers through my meals give them a nice crunch - also crackers by themselves aren't that appetising to me! I am yet to try any the great recipes on here but there are several that incorporate fruit into the main meal so I going to give that a try soon too. Mango chicken springs to mind - yum!
