Default HGH and excess skin

Hello everyone,

I have just started Cohens and I'm a bit confused about something - when I signed up for the program I was told that the Human Growth Hormone basically repairs the skin tissue??? so you don't end up with excess skin after you've lost a lot of weight, however, a few days ago I was perusing the forums and came across posts where people were talking about having tummy tucks to get rid of the excess skin.

Can someone please explain what happens when you lose heaps of weight? I have 70kg to lose and I was excited about this program because I thought I wouldn't have any excess skin, but now I'm not too sure.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Cocopop!

There are a lot of people on this forum that have lost 50+kgs and have had no probs with excess skin.

Yes, it may go a little loose for a while but it all shrinks into place. From my own personal experience, I have a bit of soft skin on my arms and on my tummy and upper thighs but week by week its tightening up and Im really not worried.

Correct me if Im wrong but as far as I know, only one person on this forum has had a tummy tuck.

I really wouldnt worry about you ending up with heaps and heaps of excess skin.

Hope this helps,

Nat

Hi Cocopop,

Asy and Faithy have both finished, and both lost around 90Kgs - go check out their diaries.... I know both ladies, and they both look pretty good to me.

As I recall, Asy said it kept on tightening even after finishing - she finished around mid 2007. Faithy has just finished in the last month or two.

Who knows - maybe they'll check in here - but, if not, do check their diaries.

Oh, and hey, welcome !!

Thumbs up

Mate trust me ....... drink the water, eat the food and most of all follow the program 100 % and your skin will come back with you as sure as the sun comes up each day - you have about the same as me to go and I can assure you after 40 weeks and 66 + kilos lost - there was no loose skin - and you really need to think of the benifites to your health generally - the good quality food that you consume will ensure your body repairs its self as you loose the weight - so stick 100 % to your plan and let nature take its course - the reward is so good - and so long as you stick with it and give your body time it will be as good as you will feel .........super good to what you feel like at 131 kg ........ 61 is so very much a new you that you will have forgotten this very post with the elation of getting to look so good in such an easy way .........trust me ...... I speak from experience big time !!!

Hey Cocopop...

As Koh said, I've lost 90 kilos & I have no issues with my skin.. but I have to say in all honesty.. what's a bit of loose skin compared to fantastic health..

I say there's probably 1 to every 1 or 2 or maybe even 300 people who have decided they need to get a tummy tuck.. perhaps even 1 to every 1000?? I dont know.. but the facts are the HGH does wonders for our skin..

I look at the MASSIVE jeans I use to wear.. I hold them up against my body & I am blown away that my skin shrunk back that much.. it's incredibly awesome..

But regardless, to me, the issue of 'what if' with our skin is NOTHING compared to what being overweight or obese can do to our bodies.. to our hearts & other major organs & also to our quality of life..

Default Thankyou!

Thank you all for your replies - my HGH faith has been restored! The thought of the excess skin didn't put me off doing the program, I was just wondering about the conflicting stories.

I didn't really pay any attention to the names on the posts, so it could have been the same person talking about it in different threads.

Anyway, thanks again for the advice - it is so motivating being able to "talk" to people who are succeeding and who have already reached their goal - such a long time to get there, but really just a drop in the ocean of life!

Hi cocopop,

I am one who probably will not be able to go out in a bikini or even a one piece without surgery to remove my 'apron'.

I have lost a total of 50 kilos over the last 5 years. My problem is that I had an emergency caesarian and then another one within 2 years and a 3rd 4 years later. the result was that I have had no feeling below my navel for about 13 years now. My stomach is receding but I doubt it will go away entirely (I am almost to refeed now). I would love it to go away but as there is tissue damage there I think I will probably need surgery.

My arms, legs, breasts, back etc have no real saggy skin at all it is all in my belly.

Thanks Connie - you certainly have done a great job in the weight loss! I see from your ticker that you must have started Cohens well into your weight-loss journey as you didn't start here with 50kg to lose - what made you come on board 1/2 way through?

I remember my consultant saying that the HGH continues to "shrink" the skin for up to a year after re-feed, so maybe we'll be seeing you in those swimmers yet! Regardless, you look fantastic - and swimmers are WAY over-rated anyway!

Hi all,

I'm also concerned about excess skin, 74kg to lose. This seems to
be one of the only places that I've seen out of hundreds that say
its possible.

I've just seen Faithy's Today Tonight spot & its inspiring.

I still have a lot to read & understand about this method of weight loss.
I'm looking forward to it tho.

Happy Friday All

Cheers Harlo

Hi Harlo,

Just to help, I can say that I personally know both Faithy and Asy (along with many others on here) - and their results are nothing short of amazing !!

To get an idea of their successes, do check this :-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/view.php?pg=nyf_hof

There have been many others too, who have seen for themselves that this way does work as stated. Since you seem to have "read around", you have likely already seen that already.

And, since you mentioned "skin" (and the likely results), I wanted to add this link too :-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=259886#post259886

Apart from that, Harlo, I just want to say "Welcome" !!

Join in, find some others who are walking a similar walk, and draw on their successes. In time (and it won't be too long), you will be the one providing others following with the good vibes re "how this just WORKS"

Hi Koh

Thanks for the links and advise.
For along time I've used the excuse of excess skin (the risk & cost of op's) as a road block
to prevent me losing weight.
It's nearly unbelievable the results people have got & in the time it took....I'm truly inspired.
I'm planning to make an app tomorrow to start this program
Again, thanks for the encouragement.

Have a great weekend

Cheers Harlo
