Default Heat 2 of Cohen's Sprint: Shell, Cait, Kym, Bibabs, Damble and Heavenlylamb..

Others are welcome to join in as well! The aim is to add a little competition and accountability into our weight loss journey. For some, they are still on the program. Others, like me, have finished and need a little "refresher".

Here are the rules...
So, we start on February 2nd, and the winner is the person with the biggest % weight loss, and most number of days without deviations at the end of February. I think its easier if we have a fixed timeframe and a definite end date to keep us on the straight and narrow. We can always start another Sprint at the beginning of March! Of course, there is no prize for the winner - just bragging rights.

So, if you are prepared to break the Cohen's rule, I think its best to weigh every day and record your daily loss. If not, maybe stick to once a week, just to keep you motivated and on track. Below is a "template" that I've modified from the New Years Sprint, which might be helpful for recording your progress. I've added "days without deviation" because I know that will be a big issue for me, and also goal weight at end of February, when the Sprint will finish.

Day:
Start Weight:
Goal Weight at end of Feb:
Today's Weight:
Loss Kg:
Loss %:

So, if you can weigh yourself tomorrow morning, and add your figures in, then we have everyone's starting point and we can work out who wins the race!! So, get your veges chopped and your meats weighed, and lets get started!!

Start Weight: 81.5kg
Goal Weight at end of Feb: 75kg or lower
Today's Weight: 81.5kg
Loss Kg: 0
Loss %: 0
Days without deviation: 0

I had a few "last supper" days the last few days... chinese take away, battered fish and chips, kahlua, ice cream etc etc... so I think this starting weight is about 1kg over what I actually weigh. So, I think I'll see a bigger loss over the next couple of days. But probably also some major sugar craving!!
So, here we go again......

Well, I'm off to a good start with my egg and veg for breakie. I also had a bit of a blow out yesterday. With mudcake for morning tea Loved every crumb of it! But no more naughties...... as I know I'm gonna drop 6 kilo by the end of the month.

I really need this sprint with you guys as I've become very complacent with my eating and have been on/off the plan for a few weeks. So lets get this weight moving!

Got through my first day back on the program without deviation, although I was climbing the walls in the evening, which is when I normally have my pig out. Good loss, but coming on the back of several days of real overeating, so I was expecting a good loss initially. But I managed to hold out even though there are chocolates on the dining table.
So, here we go wtih day two. I'm going out today, and will probably be eating lunch out, so that willl be my first challenge.

Well it looks like heavenlylamb and I are off to a even start! 900gms down each is a great boost to my motivation Keep it up! BTW....where are you others who said that they'll be in on the sprint? Hope you can jump on board with us too.

Struggled a bit with a rumbling tummy craving for something sweet. That damn mud cake earlier in the week. Other than that, I managed o.k and really didn't feel hungry.

Have a good one,
Damble.

Shell, I've been calculating : 100 divided by Starting weight x weight lost. I'm pretty sure that's right.
Good luck all.

Well.............not looking good this a.m. I am up 400gms from yesterday. I thought the 900gm drop was too good to be true the day before. Oh well, just keep on track and things will move again.

Have a good day,

Well, I didn't manage lunch yesterday without a deviation....... I knowingly and willingly ate way more chicken than I needed. actually, when i was doing cohen's previously, I wouldn't have counted this as a deviation, but who am I kidding!! But, on the plus side, I avoided all cakes, bread, chocolate etc etc.
I still had a small loss today, and I can begin to feel some bones in my hips again which I haven't felt for a while.

Hi Guys did not have access to my mail over the weekend but here I go:

Day1(Sat 2 Feb)
Start: 76.5kg
Goal end Feb under 70
Today (4 Feb) 75.5kg
Loss 1,0kg
Loss % 1.31%

Days without deviation 2

Either my scale is acting up or my body is, becaus Sunday morning I registered at 73.5kg ie 2 kg lower than today and I certainly had NO deviations. So maybe just a bit of water, will see how it goes the rest of the week.

huge loss yesterday!! (Keep in mind that this is my first week back on the program, so I am expecting quite high numbers this week... it will settle down over the next couple of weeks. )
I could feel it just melting off me during the day... it was a very wierd feeling!
Today I have business lunch and dinner appointments, but we are going to places where I can manage reasonably well. For lunch I had a beef salad, and we are going to a fish restaurant for dinner.
My clothes are already fitting SOOO much better, and its great to not have that "80" figure on the scales... I don't want to ever be there again. When I started, at 117kg, I thought that if I could stabilise at 80kg, I'd be pretty happy... but I don't think so. I still felt so fat and heavy. So, I'm really looking forward to being in the mid-low 70's again!

Nearly 1 kg in 1/2 week seems pretty good to me!! It is one of the disadvantages of weighing daily that you can't expect big movements on the scales every day. If you find it discouraging, it may be better to weigh weekly, or every few days, when you are going to see bigger movement. I find it helpful to get the feedback each day, but i know others struggle with doing that. But you have 3 days of no deviation, so you are certain to continue to see movement in the scales eventually. Remember also that there is normally a "season" of weight loss, followed by a "season" of centimetre loss, so you may be losing centimetres rather than kg!!
The most important thing is to keep going and take heart in what you've already achieved!!

I think, so far, I'm the only one who has deviated... a few people started late, so they may not have posted their progress yet.

I went out for business dinners for lunch and dinner today. I did pretty well at both meals... had the beef salad at lunch, and had steak and salad at dinner... avoided the bread at dinner, which looked very yummy. I definitely ate more beef than my allowance, but I didn't eat until I was stuffed, like I did the other day with the chicken...... so I'll need to decide overnight whether I consider it as a deviation or not!! Normally, I wouldn't unless I ate the wrong food, or clearly overate.....
But in the interest of the competition, maybe my competitors can decide.... Deviation or no deviation!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't have any more dinners/ lunches out this week, except Thursday night. So I have a few days now to really get a move on. Next week, I have a few days of meetings, with lunches and dinners for 3 days!
