Lightbulb focused for round 2!

My story started back in 1998 after my first pregnancy. ..I gained 40kg/88lbs! I worked so hard at the gym to the point of pure exhaustion, with very little return, actually 5kgs in 12 long months! I gave up and resigned myself to being FAT

Fast forward to 2007. I watched a friend of mine shrink in front of my eyes and she looked so healthy, glowing.. I had to know her secret.... Dr Cohens was the answer and I made my appointment with the local clinic within the day of finding out. I then waited for my eating plan and had bloods taken. From the moment I started my healthy eating I knew this would work. It did, I lost 30kg in 5 months (inc. Refeed). I was so happy to be healthy and damn I looked amazing!

I kept that weight stable until I fell pregnant at 40! My baby is now almost 3 and I'm unhealthy, sad and wanting to change!

Pulling out my eating plan from the filing cabinet I was determined to do this a 2nd time and this time it's for keeps!

I started on Friday 3 April 2015. Weighing in at 65kg. I'm 15kg overweight..The journey begins, I'm excited as I know there is light at the end of the fatty tunnel and I will dig my way out!

Hi

Welcome back - first step to becoming healthy again and you have taken it - that is amazing you must be proud of yourself.
Getting the head in the right place first is key to succeeding with any goal you are trying to achieve. 15 kilo's is very doable and you will, after a couple of kilo's down, be so excited you started this again.

I also have a 16 year old a 7 and 9 year old - so I know how that baby weight can stick. Mine was actually post baby weight - I put on lots of weight after just sitting around feeding etc and that's the weight that stuck.

I hope you have great success - good luck

Just weighed myself after my DS woke at 4am... to find I've lost 1.8kg in a week. Although I'm happy with a loss I was really hoping to see a bigger number looking back at me from the scale :-/ more water here I come!

Oh no way - very well done 1.8 kilo's is fantastic - where else do you lose that in one week ? not everyone loses at the same rate so don't compare yourself to others - the guarantee is if you stay OP you will definately lose - sometimes you will lose big and sometimes small. This week I lost nothing but honestly im not worried I never deviated - it could be Tom it could be water retention cause its hot - but what I do know is that I haven't deviated so it will show the drop eventually. Enjoy celebrating the loss it really is fantastic!!!

Hi there - welcome back for round 2! I'm back for the second time and hoping it will be my last - too many health issues for me being big so in order for me to get my health back I'm fully embracing my new lifestyle change.
Congrats on pulling your old plan out of the filing cabinet, I'm using my old plan too and I am certainly happy with my results so far. I often wonder why it took me so long to get back to it, then I woke up to the fact that I was punishing myself and hating on myself - which didn't help anyone, least of all me! So, I've given myself an attitudinal adjustment and here I am.
Good on you for making the decision to get back on your program, you will start to see the results sooner rather than later and this is what helps us stick to the program.
I wish you all the best.
Andie

Hi Andie wow 19kg lost you must be stoked! Well done to you for having the courage to undergo Cohens for the second time too! I know what you mean about getting upset with yourself for putting weight on but you and I have done the hardest part...committing to a healthy lifestyle and positive change power to us! I've felt absolutely worthless for so long and like you kick myself for not taking up Cohens again sooner...but there must've been a reason neither of us did before. Maybe we weren't mentally able to. Everything happens for a reason and I am happy that I'm here and able to share this journey with wonderfully strong women like yourself. Here's to success!

Thank you Andie27, Tes & Cumulus.inc! It's so amazing that we can all share in our struggles and successes 😊 it certainly makes a big difference in my journey. Knowing you are all going through the same process to health as I am is inspiring and I absolutely love reading everyone's posts, you all motivate me and to be honest I don't want to cheat as I would feel like I'm not just letting myself down but all of you awesome people too! cumulus, I know what you mean about cravings grrr...but hi-5 to you for keeping strong, you are amazing! Tes, agree totally a loss is a loss no matter what and we should all be proud of ourselves for having the strength and belief in ourselves to put ourselves first, our bodies must be loving us so much for the healthy choices we are making! Andie27, I'm so glad I am helping even if in some small way to distract you from frustration, sometimes reading another's words can help, you guys help me too!looking forward to Friday...weigh day woohoo...bring it on! I will be measuring on Friday (first time, I forgot about doing that last time) those figures don't lie no matter what your mind is tricking you into thinking you look like through the mirror! One thing I've noticed is how clean my teeth feel at nights end...it's amazing, no furry teeth...Bonus! Thank you again for your support it means the world to me 😀
