Freeze Kiwifruit while its cheap!
I have become quite fond of kiwifruit smoothies for my breakfast during the winter - they are as follows: Kiwifruit (fruit allowance) Yoghurt (Allowance) a good swig of Sprite Zero (for sweetness and to thin the smoothie) Kiwifruit have become incredible cheap at the moment, so I experimented last weekend and froze an allowance to see how it would go - I chopped it into small pieces and froze. When ready for my smoothie I put it (still frozen) in the blender with the yoghurt and sprite zeroi - it was FANTASTIC - better than fresh!!! I think it is the ice which makes it fluffier! It was a BIG hit with me, so I thought I would share! I have just stood at the sink and weighed out 16 bags of my allowance, will purchase some more in the next few days! Enjoy |

Re: Freeze Kiwifruit while its cheap!
i tend to do this with mango. When they are in season i buy them by the tray and freeze to get me by when they are not around. For some reason i had never thought about doing the same with kiwi fruit.

Creamy Kiwi Fruit Ice
I puree kiwi fruit, bag and freeze. I then blend frozen kiwi fruit with youhurt & a sweetner. Yummy ... almost as good as ice-cream. |
