Default Smoked fish

Hi,

New here, on the diet for 3 and 1/2 weeks now. Total lost 6.7 kgs.

I was wondering if we're allowed smoked fish...readily smoked...and except for smoked salmon...is there any other we should avoid?

Hi Sid,

Sorry but no, we are not allowed readily smoked fish. Its cos of the preservatives, etc that they use. Also the readily smoked fish has lots of added flavours. If you check the lable, 9 times out of 10, its not a natural smoke but smoke flavour added.

Smoked salmon is definately out. Firstly salmon isnt allowed on the program, and secondly it contains a fair amount of salt.

Although, I dont see why you wouldnt be able to smoke your own fish if you have the equipment to do it with.

I did considered that, but think it needs to be checked with Dr Cohen. I suspect that some of what's in the smoke may interfere with the diet.

Started 11/1/08. Lowest weight reached 63.8 kgs on 10/11/08 and 40 kgs down. Thank you Dr Cohen.
Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Default Fish Recipes

Does anyone have some simple fish recipes. I'm not much of a cook and need some ideas pleeeease.

I sometimes do a fish stirfry. Slice the fish thinly, slice cabbage or chop bokchoy, a bit of onion, any other vegetables you fancy, maybe salt, and I add a little (not too much unless you like it hot) chili powder, or 1/2 tspn Clive of India curry powder. Stirfry in a frying pan sprayed with oil until the fish is cooked.

Have you looked in the Recipes thread, or on the main Cohen site in their recipes?
