Default Refeed Food Combo's and Recipes

Shell just gave me this idea....

Maybe we can list some 'combos' of what we can combine for yummy meals...

Veal Parmigana Combo
*when able to mix proteins and add old protein*
Pick your original meal option with cheese (meal 1,2 or 3)
Add in the 'old protein' to this original meal (veal)
Use your 3 crackers instead of bread for the crumbs
Cook the veal as snitzel with crackers and melt the cheese over the top and your off!

Tuna and Cheese Combo
*when able to mix proteins and add old protein*
Add old protein 'tuna' to an original 'cheese meal' from your eating plan
Have the tuna and cheese melted on toast!

Reef and Beef
*when able to mix protein and add old protein*
Add old protein 'prawns' to an original 'meat plan' from your original eating plan
Have the steak with prawns and mayo on top!

Steak and Egg Breakie
*when able to mix protein and add old protein*
Choose meal one - egg
Add your old protein 'steak'
*or when able to add a reasonable amount of new protein add 'lamb'

Pork and Beef Goulash
*when able to mix proteins and add new protein*
Choose your original meat meal from program
Add a reasonable amount of 'new protein' pork to this meal
Cook the goulash (as in recipe book)

Okay...I'm working on one. So what about an Eggplant Parmesan...maybe even an Eggplant/Chicken Parmesan.

I'm winging this one:

Pulverize one toasted piece of bread for beading on eggplant and chicken. Fry it up with oil spray then bake it in the oven until cooked through...personally I would cook the eggplant much longer because I like it soft. Place in a baking dish...put melt mozzarella/ricotta mixture with herbs over the top and pour some blended tomato (allowance) over it. Bake...sounds kinda yummy to me.

YUMMO PARMA!

steak or chicken- allowance
crumbs- part of allowance
mozzarella cheese- allowance
sliced cooked tomato

cook snitzel with spray oil, top with cooked tomato and mozzarella cheese.
put under the grill until cheese is melted- browned is tastier!!
Serve with remaining veg allowance

Default Banana French Toast

1 slice bread
1 banana
1 egg
Pinch of cinnamon.

Lightly beat the egg, cut up the banana and mash it with the egg and cinnamon.
Soak your bread in it on both sides and fry in a non stick pan with just a hint of oil. If all the banana mix doesn't soak into the bread pile it on top of the bread, it'll set a bit and then cook when you flip the bread over.

This is heaven.

Have your veggies first. I prefer sauteed spinach with a bit of balsamic.

Default Fish Pizza with cheese

For when you can mix proteins and add old protein.

Use the fish pizza recipe in the recipe book as one of your cheese meals and after the pizza has cooked for a while arrange sliced mozarella on top and grill until brown and bubbly.

Default All kinds of muffins

Once you can have bad fruit go the bananas. After a day of 3 slices of bread I decided to go back to 1 slice a day which left me with 6 crispbreads to play with. I have a Bamix drymill which pulverises them into flour. I mix 4 allowances of pulverised Saladas with one mashed banana and either mango allowance or pineapple allowance or blueberry allowance or...you get the idea.

I use the silicone mini muffin pans and bake for about 15 minutes. These are great with yoghurt for Breakfast and then you have enough for a snack (or two) through out the day. Brilliant. Who needs biscuits!

Default Lamb Pizza plus more

I've been using a lot of lamb mince, get the lamb straps, sometimes called back straps, they're very low in fat. Either get the butcher to mince them for you or mince them yourself. I've been adding the lamb mince as new protein in with chicken mince for AJ's Chicken Nuggets or with beef mince for bolognaise and Shepherd's Pie.

Today I had more new protein than old so I used the fish pizza recipe in the book but swapped the tuna for lamb mince, mixed it up with a couple of pulverised Saladas, some garlic, pepper and salt and pressed that into my little flan dish I use for the fish pizzas. I cooked that for about 10 minutes then piled the veggies on top including new veg thinly sliced eggplant and cooked it for a while longer until the veggies were soft. Sprinkle with some basil and oregano then top with your cheese allowance and cook for a while longer until the cheese is melted and browned.

If you don't want to cook your pizza for that long you can pre-cook the veggies and turn them into a pizza sauce then spread that on the pre cooked lamb base and the cheese goes straight on top, you could grill it then if you like to melt the cheese.

I will definitely have this meal again.

For dinner I made Connies' goulash which you'll find in the recipe thread and it's a great recipe to use up bits and pieces of protein you have left over. I used beef and lamb plus a little bit of lamb mince to make up the required amount of new protein. Also added some cooked potato for my carb.

Enjoy.

These are great ideas! Can't wait!

Is there anywhere else on the forum where I can get some refeed recipes? Need some inspiration!

Hi francesca

This is the only place I found for refeed recipes which is why i posted mine here. Why not do a bit of experimenting and post the results here?

Thanks Loulou - yes, I'll definitely see if I can come up with anything and post the good stuff here. I am going to try your muffins tomorrow morning!

I have a question about the great recipes Hexi posted. I'd love to make the veal parmigiana and the tuna cheese toast, but I was under the impression that we were not supposed to add anything (protein, vege etc) to our cheese meal (i.e. Meal 1). My consultant said I should split the increases between Meal 2 and Meal 3. Is that right?

Or can I go ahead and have tuna cheese toast? If I can put some add ons at Meal 1, does this mean that if I have say "add 60g old protein", I have to put +20g on each meal? I can't lump +60g with Meal 1, right?

Skinny,
Maybe I was a bit luckier than you as I had the choose of cheese for either meal 1 or meal 2. So I was able to have the cheese as meal two and then add the new protein to it.

Hi Francesca,
I had a "parma" with my cheese meal during re feed-cheese allowance + new protein.
I also added "new" protein/veg to any meal I wanted, depending on what I was eating, I don't think it matters where you have it.
I know I had to have allowance amount of yogurt-no more.
