I wasnt sure if there was any such thread so i thought I would start this one myself.

For thoses whom have not yet completed the journey what ails do you hope to be rid off once you have completed the journey. Once you have completed the journey please come back and let us know if it has worked.

Thanks Connie, that was a great help. It gives us a better insight to the true benefit of weight loss and what we have to look forward to.

Default Change of thread

Since this thread already exists how about we change it to what we hope to get out of weight loss both medical and personal, then as things happen we can mark them off.

what do you think?

Hi I posted this in the PCOS thread,
I have recently visited my gyno n he did an ultra sound that showed i no longer have PCOS.....
I have suffered the symptoms all my life, I am longing to have another baby n now i have the chance to fall naturally.
So im now living proof that weight loss CAN cure PCOS.
Happy loosing all..

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.
What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/
Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Self-respect cannot be hunted. It cannot be purchased. It is never for sale. It cannot be fabricated out of public relations. It comes to us when we are alone, in quiet moments, in quiet places, when we suddenly realize that, knowing the good, we have done it; knowing the beautiful, we have served it; knowing the truth, we have spoken it.

Such a good thread..

What do I want to get out of weight loss?

Medical
To be healthy
To be fit
To not feel like each breath may be my last
To walk without being in pain
(Have now received all of the above YAY)

Personal
To feel attractive
To feel confident & comfortable in my own skin
To look amazing in whatever I choose to wear
(I now realise that some of those really dont have a lot to do with weight loss, but I had hoped it would help )

hey rue..
im just about to start my plan so now is a good time for me to post something. mine are very similar to yours, lets see....

-Bye bye to PCOS!!!!
-excess hair to just leave me forever!
-fertility to never be a problem, once i start trying..
-i can buy that sexy pair of designer jeans and ask if they have a smaller size hehehe... with any piece of clothing..
-for when i go shopping to not even want to try something on because i know its not going to fit, or to not end up buying a stupid t-shirt because i know it will fit and atleast ill feel happy because i bought something..
-for when its time to dress for an important night and finding it hard to look my best, so that usually ends in me crying and not going...

The above must be gone, and will be gone by the time im done!
Youve all heard me and youre all my witnesses!

Laura

the more I read about you RUe the more we have in common,

Health wise
I was to rid of PCOS so we can have more children (like 4-5 more)
I don't want to be on the diabetes next top hit list
Or heart dease for that matter.
I want to have the energy to play with my childrenall day every day
and certainly the whole numb hand thing you speack of.

Personally
I just want to buy clothes from a normal store and not have to find "fashion in the plus sizes or maternity.I would like to buy a bra that I don't have to order from a catalog and pay over $100 a bra cause you can't get it from a normal store.

Buy togs that fit too

Default numbing hands

hi

Rue, just a quick question. You said you wake up with numbing hands. Have you seen your doctor about Carpal Tunnel. This is one of symptoms. It is probably only lack of blood supply, but best play it safe, especially if you do repetitive work.

Great thread

Katie

Hi Rue
heres my list!

* no more panic attacks associated with health fixations
*hopefully this will also end my insomnia
*the aches and pains after a day in the garden
*fitness to play sport again
*confidence to get in the pool with my kids
*give my kids a photo with their mother in it to
*Pride and self respect.
*and of course to shop for clothes at the front of the shop - not the section pushed way up the back. To express myself physically who I really am - not how I have to be cause I'd look bloody rediculous and the sizes just aren't there!!

Default Things I want to get out of weightloss

My list has similarities to a lot of other people.

I want to be rid of asthma
I want to reduce my risk of diabetes/heart disease
I want to be able to tie my shoe laces easily
I want to be able to make use of a very large box of almost new clothes that fitted me only 7 yrs ago.
I don't want to feel ashamed of my size, I want to wear clothes that make me look goo instead of hiding myself.
Instead of looking at other people and thinking they look good, I want to look good.
I want to increase my confidence (which will take more than wieght loss, but thats a start)

The most important thing for me is I want to prove to my mother (and siblings) that I can do it, over the last 5 years I have been trying to lose weight but when I was living with her she did everything in her power to make it difficult for me.
This is what I want to do and they wont stop me.

With all of the above I will be able to be a better mum to my special girl (and maybe get her a sibling eventually).

Good luck everyone

E
