Default JUST got my program...

... and I already have questions.

There was a menu plan included. Several blank ones and one already typed out. With the typed out menu, do we have to follow it for the first week or is this just an example? Because there are some foods on there I dont like.

Also I dont like fish. I can handle some of the blander fillets occasionally but really dont do seafood like prawns and calamari. Is it ok that I dont eat the stuff I dont like throughout the course of the 6 months as long as I meet the requirements (allowance) of each group with other items?? Or for instance, If I really like one thing for breakfast like the yoghurt with fruit can I have that every day for breakfast (being the creature of habit I am) or is that not ok?

Im sorry about the questions, Im trying to ask them now so that I can avoid them nasty deviations.

Hi Brook and welcome!

I'd say that was just an example menu they gave you. You can have the same thing every day if you like it really doesn't matter. As long as you choose a line from meal 1, meal 2 and meal 3 each day you're okay. You don't have to eat the seafood either, just an option if you like it.

I loved having my yoghurt every day for brekky but now that the Vaalia isn't allowed anymore I've switched to an egg and veg as I hate all the other yoghurts.

Good Luck!

Suzie

Thanks for your quick reply SuzieQ!

I was going to stick to the Yoghurt for brekky because I didnt think I could imagine the whole Vegies for brekky thing. I may have to look at a couple of recipe's to give me some ideas though.

Hi Brooke,
Welcome to the forum.
I used to have egg & lettuce for breakfast, quite filling if you don't like the cooked veg option.
Be careful of the amount of times a week you are allowed cheese- a few get tripped up on that one.
Good luck.

Hi Brooke,

There is a great recipe for egg "muffins" in the cook book. I make 5 of them on Sunday and freeze them just taking on e out each night for work the next day. Good breaky veggies if you like them are tomatoe (carefull cooking with these as they are watery and also your only supposed to have half per meal) zuchinni, mushies, asparagus, spring onion, parsley. Or you can make a ricotta version if you feel like mixing it up a little. I think everyones plan is different on the cheese thing. Mine says I can have it every day but try to keep it at 2-3 per week.

But as you are a creature of habit the youghart is really good. I cant eat it as it makes my skin flare up (excema)

Good luck and never be afraid of asking questions. You never know who has the same question that needs an answer.

Welcome, Brooke. You can have the same thing for breakfast every day. However, some have found that changing breakfasts around a bit after a while speeds up weight loss. Just a hint for later on.

Also, you don't need to have Meal 1 for breakfast. So you could have a Meal 2 for breakfast, Meal 3 for lunch and Meal 1 for dinner. You don't have to eat anything you don't like.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi Brooke,

Welcome. I have a breakfast that I love to have 3 times a week.

It is 1 flat mushroom, peeled, about 40g. I put a little spinach and mozarella cheese on this and with the rest of my vege allowance I put tomato and sometimes onion onto two crackers and then top with the rest of the mozarella allowance. Then I put them under the griller until the cheese is bubbling and going golden brown. I sometimes put spinach onto the cracker as well.

Very Yummy

I think you'll find it says you can have it ONCE a day. Try & limit it to 3 times per week.

The wording changes the meaning quite a bit

The majority of people's programs will state the same, unless there is some medical reason for them not being able to eat cheese. Only the amounts will differ.

Yes sorry Faithy I should make myself very clear. Although my consultant has said I can have it ONCE daily I have taken advise from others on the forum and limited cheese to 2-3 times a week but only ONCE a day.

Good Luck

That part of the program confused me too. Everything else in the program is so very specific and very precise. Im not sure I understand why its telling us to "try" and limit it to 3 times a week.

That's interesting Ronky & I have to admit that surprises me.. the reason we shouldn't have cheese more than 3 times a week is because of the high salt content in cheese.. which yoghurt doesn't have..

Many people have tried having cheese more often than mentioned in their programs & at first hasn't had too much of an impact, but later on it does.. it can slow down weight loss & can cause fluid retention..

I would be more inclined to follow what your program says.. stick to cheese no more than 3 times per week & the other mornings I would go with the egg option..

Anyway, I hope you have found some interesting ideas.. doesn't hurt to play around a little to make things more interesting..

This is the info I got from Faithy and it makes a lot of sense.

Good Luck
