Hello from a newbie
I started Cohen's last Thursday and I have to say that apart from a headache that would kill a water buffalo, all is good. No cravings, not hungry, and I have a feeling that I am eating more than I was before. I am going overseas in 5 weeks, I have spoken to the ladies and we pretty much decided that another detox will be inevitable. I would be thrilled just to get rid of this headache. No panadol, asprin, nurofen are not working I am totally looking forward to small pretty undies, and to throwing out every item of clothing that I own. Sound a little excessive?? Nope, that dream alone will keep me on the straight and narrow. I look forward to reading and sharing your goals and dreams.

Almost happy?
You cheeky little thing, you have weighed yourself already. I refuse to for at least a week. You are doing very well though, hopefully I will have done as well (fingers crossed).
I have to say that I am feeling surprisingly well. The headaches have finally gone. I am still not hungry but I was cooking dinner for the rest of the family last night and was feeling envious of their roast potatos. My husband has offered to cook dinner from now on so that I don't to have things waved in my face that I simply can't eat. Even my son is happy enough to not eat desserts anymore, what a kid!! I am hoping to be 10kg down before we go, fingers crossed. It is going to be so hard, we are going to Kuala Lumpur, so that means lots of rice and noodles. Not for me!! But I just love eating new things overseas!!!!!!!!!! I have my whole family coming to my house for Christmas this year so I am hoping that I will feel happy enough in a swimsuit. At the moment I get out of the pool when my sons friends come over, I don't want to scare them. I am thinking that maybe I have too many stretchmarks to wear a bikini anyway, they look like snail races. Nice to hear from you J

I thought you had to wait 1 month for weight in, or is it an individual decision? I am tempted to give the scales to my HB who can hide them away nice and high (he's 6'6"). And to give them to me on my one month anniversary. BUT, it would be nice to see a number going down too...hmmm.....I think I will put the scales away. If I am doing it right, the number will go down regardless, and how wonderful would it be to get a great big surprise!!!

The program recommends weigh-in only once a month due to the cyclic nature of this program. The body does not lose weight and lose cm's at the same time. It's just like when you were growing up. You got taller for a while and then you started to fill out for a while. Dr. Cohens feels that is it easier on your mindset if you don't weigh daily or weekly as you will also have plateaus now and again through out the program. Some have stayed the same weight for a couple of weeks or more (Fotohijinks comes to mind).
If you weigh weekly or daily and see no movement or even occasionally increases in weight, one tends to get worried and stressed. Stress can cause weight loss to slow down as well, thereby aggravating the problem. So, it is really up to you. I, like AJ, am a serial weigher (although AJ is worse as she weighs morning and night!). Both of us are very analytical and my chart you can see in my signature (kept on my own website but viewable by all here). I'm finished and just over two months past refeed but am still keeping my charts and daily weighings for statistical purposes. So, if you feel that you could get discouraged then I would recommend that you don't weigh any more often than weekly and maybe you will be better to just let your clothes be a guide as to how successful you are going.
