Question Help please re making batches of meals

I've read a lot where people do this so it's so much easier to grab something on the go if needed etc.

Just wondering how you do this though and know the right size?

Or do you make them all individually?

Wanting to do a huge cook this weekend so I'm more organised so that I only need to cook for my husbands dinner as mine will all be ready!

Definitely have to make everything individually ! dont guess sizes and try split yours out from his.

I did this for two weeks. It took up my whole sunday making 3-4 lunches for myself. It was great to have something to warm up for lunch.

But now what i do is cook our dinner each night . BF has the same as me but a triple size portion and there is more or less always enough left over for my lunch. So i make our dinners in seperate pots and then before i go relax i cook up the left overs for my lunch the next day and put it in the fridge. So at least lunches are grab and go.

I found it too much of a mission to try make all lunches and dinners for me and him pre made. I get overrwhelmed in my tiny kitchen easily

Hey BB...

Mmm, some people do batch make their food... I am kind of against it. haha. Your portions cannot be guaranteed! Food changes when it's being cooked... so weighing something before cooking will be different once it is cooked... So even if you prepare your allowance x 2, cook it and the divide it evenly, how would you know you are getting exactly the right amount. It's impossible!!! Let alone mixing protein with veg, cooking and then somehow magically dividing the protein and vege evenly... Impossible, I tell you!! haha. Not many people do do it and there is a reason. It's is not 100%! No way, now how!

I will bulk chop vege and store in the fridge, I will also bulk cut and weigh out portions of protein and freeze... Then it's as simple as grabbing your protein and adding pre-chopped veggies and off you pop.

Also when you do go into a mad prep run, you tend to get so focused, time flies and you get into the swing of it. It's not as hard as it sounds

This week I have been heading out and about quite a lot so I've been cooking 4 meals on nights where I was in - 2 x "meal 2" and 2 x "meal 3". I weigh all four meals out individually and then just cook one after the other. As they are small I find it doesn't take me too much longer than just prepping one meal.
It means I pretty much eat the exact same meals two days in a row which is a little dull but worth it! It means I don't need to fuss about anything but breafast for 48 hours

I batch make meals but what I do is cut the veggies, cut the meat, then weigh out each meal and cook them individually. It's pretty easy seeing as they are small portions too, they don't take too long to cook so it's about the same amount of time as one big meal. I also make batches of things like meatballs and tuna patties and strategically place them on the oven tray in groups so I know what the separate portions are- if that makes sense

I have it organized how Lil does. Even Now. Nothing changes really in maintenance. Meat all weighed out, marked weights and name of protein in freezer, chopped, grated, or sliced veggies in containers in the fridge. Always feels like such a chore refilling the containers again, but it is no big deal. Only as big as I make it. The vegies always seem to stay fresh for so much longer prepped and everything gets used before the next lot are bought.
