Default Mincer or Food Processor. Whos got one?

Okay Guys let me have your reviews on the mincer you have, if you have one.

Being a single bloke I dont have a food processor but have a galaxy juicer. For the life of me I tried mincing but I crapped myself cause i thought it was going to break

Anyone have a food processor or other appliance that they are happy or unhappy with? Would love some comments.

I get my meat in 5kg lots and they wont mince becuase its a big industrial type

Cheers
J

Hi LF,
I used to buy the better steak and my butcher would mince it for me with all the fat removed- very easy!

Hi LF

I have a Sampson slow gear juicer which minces, crushes crispbreads, does the lot. It's much cheaper than most of the geared juicers you get from the shops, cost me about $300 from memory but that was a few years ago, the first price I was quoted was over $500 but they brought the price down because the demand was so great they could get more of them made for a cheaper price. amazing I know, almost unheard of!
Do a search for Sampson juicers ansd see what comes up. I'm not a rep I just love my Sampson.

Hey LF,
I have two...I have a breville food processor which I just love but even more I love my Kendwood mix master (cake maker as the kids call it ). I have the mincer attachment for it which is great. You can also buy a hand mincer if you want, I found one on Victoria's Basement.

http://www.victoriasbasement.com.au/...roductID=50813

Good luck with it, and congrats as well for your results so far.

Thanks guys for all your help
Lucylou I have a galaxy which is identical to the samson!! I must be doing something wrong when mincing. Do you cube or have strips when feeding the juicer?

Hi LF

Are you using the mincing cone, the one with solid sides? If you use the juicing cone then you will be well and truly stuffed! I use the mincing cone and then just the drum cap, no nozzle, otherwise it will back up. I can throw anything into it as long as they fit in the top doesn't seem to matter.

A food processor minces very well. However, as Andy says, a Thermomix is the best kitchen device in the world. If you have one, you hardly need a kitchen.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

The fridge comes under the hardly bit - they are very good though and it minces and grinds to perfection in seconds. It cooks and mixes in seconds and does lots of other things.

I have a big and small food processor. I use the big one for large amount of meat and the small one for single amounts and crispbreads. I bought the small one a couple of years ago at big W for about $20. Best $20 I spent. When you have finished it is also great for making pesto.

The thermomix sounds like an unreal appliance however I could not afford one. I bought a mincer through ebay, it also makes sausages (for the distant future). It cost me $100 and $24 for postage. It is a Kitchenpro Maxim model. Very easy to put together and easy to clean, not very big and is therefore easy to store.

Thermomix is available through a finance company (subject to approval) for less than $14 a week over four years, or whatever shorter period you choose. Many families can save more than that by not buying many of the processed items they currently buy. A local accountant (no children at home but they entertain a lot) estimates they are saving $40 a week.

It really is worth having a demonstration. You won't be pressured to buy (well, shouldn't). The only item for sale is the Thermomix, so no smaller items being pushed for sale. Invite in a couple of friends, you get a six course meal tasting what's made in the demo (usually sorbet, bread rolls, beetroot salad, hommus, risotto and lemon custard), it's a social occasion, the food tastes fantastic and you get to see an amazing machine.

If you are interested, PM me your name, address, phone number and I can pass them on to head office who will arrange for someone in your area to contact you (if there is someone in your area). If anyone at the demo does decide to buy one, I do get a small commission for passing the name on.

Yes, Chailee, it's expensive, but worth it. You can save it's cost in a couple of years. Also, it's a lot less than the $5000 flat screen TVs that apparently are almost walking out the showroom door on their own. Also, the $14 a week is through a finance company at their exorbitant interest rates.

Be sure to buy your lotto tickets.

Oh AJ, you have started an entire topic of conversation here - I don't have a flatscreen...but apparently, if you have NO money, and need to complain on Today Tonight or ACA about the price of petrol, then you need to have all the gadgets in the world behind you in the lounge room.

No wonder the world is in such a mess financially!!

Ah, but I digress....the machine looks fabulous, I watched a few YouTube videos of it, and it certainly looks like it makes life easy. I can only wish right?

Chailee, put it on your wish list. I'm trying to let as many people as possible know about it because I think it is such a great device. For me, being able to make almost everything that previously I bought pre-processed was the selling point, for my husband it's that everything that's made in it tastes better, for others it may be the savings in time, or money. It does cost a lot, but if you know about it there may come a point when you can justify buying one.

It's what's in people's value systems that determines what they buy. For some, they'd sooner have a great TV and economise with everything else (like petrol and food). Others put overseas holidays above owning a home. Everyone on this programme has put becoming slim ahead of $750 worth of something else. I have a Thermomix, a massage bed and a really big indoor spa, but not a flat screen TV and it's a long time since I had an expensive holiday. I'm not passing judgment on anyone, just saying that everyone prioritises and spends their money on what's important for them.
