I'm starting soon
I have not started the programme yet but am getting eveything organised and the money together. I am getting excited but scared at the same time about doing it. I have tried alot of other things that have not worked and since having my daughter 18 months ago there is more weight and now a baby belly to loose (i will be shocked if that actually goes!!!!) I am in Tassie, is anyone else? Any tips for me before i start things rolling? I really want to get stuck into it so i have lost some weight by christmas and summer. I did not even go swimming or wear summer clothes last year i was so ashamed i lived in my jeans!!! Not this time!!! I am fighting back!! |

Hi Tassiegirl!!! Gotta love the boxing dudes! Sounds as though you're in for a GREAT summer (and congratulations on your lil girl)
I too had to wait a while before I started Cohen's, both to get the $$$ together and to convince myself it was right for me. The more I read, the more I was certain it was a GREAT decision and well worth the initial outlay. One thing I've read so many times is the number of people who've tried everything else and never been able to achieve the results they wanted to, and yet who have had AMAZING results with Cohen's I'd encourage you (if you have time) to read through some of the member's diarys in the "Personal Diary" section of this forum and see their journies in black and white. So many of them are SO inspirational and I promise that your belief will go through the roof! A lot of people do the "Pre-Cohen's" program before they start (including myself) which is just a bunch of guidelines to follow to help your body get ready for the changes in your eating habits and to get the weight loss started before you even receive your plan. I will dig up the link for you It's so nice to have you here and I assure you that finding this forum and deciding to join in is a great decision too

Here's the thread It's GREAT!
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3465 I'd also suggest starting a diary of your own I did that even before I'd gotten my program organised and it was a great way to meet some lovely people and write down all of the things that I wanted to keep firmly in mind to help me be strong and focused for when I did start. ENJOY!

You have made the right decision and I remember feeling soooooooo nervous about this program knowing that it was probably going to work and for me that was something i couldn't believe...i didn't want to build up my hopes in case i failed...
But I succeeded....I have never been a small girl always weighing 80 kilos plus - max weight 117 kilos in Jan 07 after having my second baby... This program is the greatest gift you can give yourself...so get excited this is going to work and yep set up a diary and get it started...i did that too and it was great to get me reved up and focussed... As for other tassy people I don't think I have come accross any yet and I have been on the forum since October last year...but put a post in the Get Together thread calling all tassies...there may be some

Thanks so much for the great posts and support as i only posted a little while ago. Yeah i have been looking around the forum and it just makes me want to get it started and start the journey to "fabulousity"!! Yeah i just do not want to get my hope up as i have done it before only to fail and put back on what i lost if not more. I think some of my family are giving me money for my birthday 22nd which is on the 23rd September of which will go towards the programme then hopefully it wont be to hard to get the rest together. I just hope the program is not to ard to follow as i work 45 hours a week, work 1 hour away from home and have an energetic buddy to go home to. Is it time consuming? Can my partner still eat some of the foods i will be making as it would be easier to be able to cook the same for both of us rather than a separate meal just for me?

Welcome, Tassiegirl. There was at least one other Taswegian I remember from a while back, but I think she's dropped out. As hexi says, there may be others.
I cook much the same meals for my husband as for myself, add extra carbs to his, such as corn, potatoes, rice, etc. He loves the food. However, because mine must be precisely weighed, I have to use two pans for everything. It is a nuisance, and even cooking a batch of something for myself, each meal must be weighed and cooked separately. I also didn't believe that I could succeed and get to the point I'm now at. I tell people this is both the most difficult and the easiest diet that I've ever done. It's difficult in the sense that it's so restrictive. Having accepted that I wasn't going to deviate, it's the easiest. The 'trick' is not to deviate. A deviation can slow you down for up to a week, and more importantly, can be difficult to get from, and makes the next one easier. It really is worth doing. If you can't start immediately, doing as Lulabelle suggested and doing pre-Cohens will have you losing weight before you start your own programme. AJ

Started 11/1/08. Lowest weight reached 63.8 kgs on 10/11/08 and 40 kgs down. Thank you Dr Cohen.
Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time. My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight. What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/ |

Welcome Tassiegirl!
I'm a victim of post-baby-bulge as well! My daughter's just turned one and I realised that my belly wasn't going anywhere in a hurry. I'm only three weeks in and I can tell you that the belly disappears surprisingly quickly once you're in Dr Cohen's good hands. I was really surprised by the results myself, and my friends have said that the losses I've had are most apparent on the tummy and face areas. I second Lulabelle's recommendation to start with pre-Cohens if you need some time to put the money together to get a plan. I lost more than 2 kilos doing a modified pre-Cohens programme (even though this included allowing myself a cheat day, having dessert some days, etc!) so you will definitely see results very quickly. Do come on board when you can - us soon-to-be yummy mummys must stick together! |

Hi Guys
Thanks heaps for the support and ideas. So where would i find this "pre Cohens" diet? should get myself started so i am on track when i start. I decided it was time to bite the bullet and i am going to stick to this plan 100% its time i do something for me as most of the time i don't even exist in my own life!! gotta love kids and working hehehehe. I am worries that i will loose weight and have heaps of saggy skin! Do you really not excerise on the program? just seems strange! Am looking to start a diary soon, i read the others and looked at some of the photos i think they are amazing!! This forum makes me so excited and more motivated than ever! Spoke to my family last night and they said they are going to give me the rest of the money i need for my birthday which is on the 23rd Sep so hopefully i will have the ball rolling in the last week of September BRING IT ON is all i can say |

This is the link to the Pre-Cohen's guidelines - http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3465
And yep we're encouraged not to do any exercise that we don't normally do in our life already... my consultant told me that it was because your body releases various things when you exercise which can interfer with what we're trying to accomplish and also because since we're living on so few calories, exercising could make us feel more tired and more hungry - no thanks *laughs* She said it was okay to do non-strenuous things like stretches, yoga/pilates, and very light free weights (I asked specificially if I could do these things as I want to tone up also)... but nothing that gets you to the point of being puffed or tired. Just gentle things here and there. Exercise is something I plan to incorporate into my life AFTER I finish my program though and I think most people do, as part of their new, healthy lifestyle So glad it's all falling into place for you and that you have made the decision to do this, for yourself!
