Thumbs up Ms. Jiggles' Diary

Hello,

It is Friday night, Halloween. Tomorrow when I wake up, it will be my first Cohen Day.

I will have to face the scale and do my measurements to update my weight.

I have my meals planned and everything ready to go.

And I've decided to just go for it and get through what will be a tough first week.

Thanks for all the info I got pre-Cohens.

Ms. Jiggles

HI Mrs Jiggles

Congratulations on taking the big step.
You never know you may fly through this first week with grace and ease - some do.

I wish you the very best on this journey and may it be painless.

Blessings
Shanara

The first step is always the hardest but the start to a fantastic journey of learning. Congratualations. Just take it one meal at a time and you'll be through the first week before you know it and from there it's downhill all the way! Smaller and smaller and smaller

Talking Day 2 Begins

Thanks to all of you for all the support and encouragement. I really appreciate it!

Day One is in the books! It went well. I became hungry about one hour before my meals. I felt unusually warm..and my head felt a little hot..hard to explain...and I felt dizzy only twice and only for a couple of seconds. By the end of my evening I felt a little more tired than usual and a slight headache coming on. I took an aleve and went to sleep earlier than I usually do but slept very very well! Today I awoke feeling very refreshed.

I ate a totol of 6 oz plain yogurt, 2 apples, one orange, tilapia fish, turkey breast and lots of spinach with a little balsamic vinegar for flavor and also a little salt and pepper and paprika, and saltine mini's, making sure not to go over any allowances. For beverages I had 2 liters water, 2.5 cups black coffee, one can sprite zero. All very delicious.

All in all........I didn't pass out or feel sick like I thought might happen.

I have now eaten breakfast and have half my water down. Slight headache, but should hopefully pass...it is very mild.

Woo-hoo!

Ms. Jiggles

Well done! Day One is Push Off day and you will be in the swing of it by the end of the week.

Make sure you start the multi vitamins and the oil capsule from the very beginning. The oil capsule is important to stop your face and feet from drying out. Your program will list the oil capsules which you may have.

I have been taking a daily fish oil Omega 3 capsule for more than two years now. I am very fair and have always had dry skin, not realising that one capsule of oil per day would relieve that. While I was in UK I didn't have the multivitamins or oil capsules and came back with much poorer quality skin and hair then when I went (5 months). I also found that the week I started the oil capsules I didn't lose any weight, so do start these from the beginning so that this is just part of the program.

My program allows One capsule per day of:

Evening Primrose Oil, or
Omega 3 Oil, or
Flaxseed Oil

Cheers
Kristine

Good work on getting through the first day, Ms Jiggles! The first few days can be a bit rough, but the happy hormones kick in and it gets a lot easier!
Take care and have a great week!

Like any journey it starts with that one first small step forward and very soon the days and the kgs will be away behind in the settling dust as you build up speed and momentum and very soon you will head over that line to the new you .......... but your away and on the track ..... go ...go go...... full steam ahead !!!!!!!

I hope it's all going well for you by now Ms Jiggles. I'd suggest increasing your water a bit. The Australian clinics say 1 litre for every 25 kgs of body weight, however Dr Cohen has clarified that you should drink 2-3 litres a day unless it is hot or you have exercised. However, it might be worth increasing water closer to three litres a day as you have quite a lot to lose at this point and it helps with removing the fat and toxins. Another advantage of plenty of water is that it helps keep your tummy feeling full.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Talking Oil not in program..

Kristine: My program doesn't say anything about oil capsules. In fact it says to avoid all oils. They only suggested the daily vitamin, which I am taking. Not sure why I wouldn't be told about that.

Andy: Your posts are so positive!! Thank you.

AJ: My program says to drink 48-64 oz of water but that I should try to have at least 2 Litre a day. It didn't say anything about body weight.

Thank you all for the tips! I think I will go re-read my program again...just to be sure and I will let you all know.

Thanks again! BTW--Day 3 is going great...lots of energy and no headache today...just neck tension.

It's excellent that the detox symptoms are almost gone, Ms Jiggles! It's a good idea to re-read your program at least once a week.
My program says the same as Kristine's with the oil capsule. I've only just started taking the primrose oil today. My skin was starting to get a bit dry, I don't know why I didn't start taking it before
Stay strong and keep smiling!

Ms Jiggles, I've been taking a multivitamin, plus magnesium (stops leg cramps), zinc (hair and nails, plus immune system I think), fish oil capsule (similar to the evening primrose). All are mentioned in my programme.

The programme doesn't mention body weight in relation to water, but many of the consultants do. Go with Dr Cohen's recommendation, but try the higher level.

Talking Day 5

Day 5 went great. I am not having headaches or dizziness. A bit hungry about one hour before eating.

Acne flare up is occurring....probably body releasing toxins.

I looked at my program again. No oil capsule mentioned...only the multivitamin. Must be based on the blood test whether they recommend certain vitamins/supplements. Another bit of proof that this is a personal diet!

Can't wait to reach the one week mark! BTW...I am drinking about 2.5 L of water...I will work on 3, but that might be pushing it right now.

Hi Ms Jiggles

Congrats on picking the best diet ever! You won't be sorry. But I'm sure you have figured that out already. (I just like to state the obvious)

Reading one of your previous posts, I did a double take at the 6oz of yoghurt but then realized you are in the States. It just sounded too tiny LOL (I get 175gm)

Good luck with your journey.

Katie

Hi Mrs Jiggles

Sounds like you are getting into the swing of your Cohens programme - good on you!

I was surprised that your program doesn't mention the oil capsule - maybe check with your clinic. Mine is always pretty quick to get back to me when I email them.

You seem to have moved through the worst of the detox.

Have a great Cohens day.
Shanara

Talking DAY 7

DAY 7 begins well. I am feeling good! No weakness or pain. The hunger is still about one hour before eating and I can tolerate that. Otherwise, I feel content with how I feel and very happy that it was not as bad as I thought the first week would be.

Tomorrow I will do a one week weigh in and see what the first week losses are. After that I will probably just weigh in monthly.

I am also noticing without dairy, carbs and sugar in my diet that I have less allergies, less stomach issues and less bloat and other t.m.i. things that I am glad to not be dealing with.

As for clothing...the waist of my pants are not so tight and I feel like I have more thigh room. Maybe I already am in fat loss mode!

Gotta be "settling" to notice that (if you had any "Cohens concerns" at all). Sound like it'd be worth doing Cohens just for THOSE gains !!

Re "in fat loss mode", I've heard that kicks in for real around week 3 - but your EARLY days (weeks 1 and 2) will see larger than usual drops, so you will likely be delighted tomorrow....

And, of course, we all want to know how you went Do you have a "hope for" figure?

Talking First Week Losses

Day 8 and I am down 6 pounds!! (2.72 kilos)

I did my first ticker change! How exciting is that?
I also took my measurements and they are down, too. I didn't do a total as I don't want to get too impressed with numbers but my clothes feel so much better after one week!

A silly thing to report: As I was grocery shopping yesterday, my left shoe felt loose. I thought to myself that that was odd and I wondered if my left foot had lost size. When I got home, took my shoes off, looked at my shoe.........the short little side zipper was unzipped.

Btw..**warning--T.M.I.** I might have missed this in the pre-cohen's research, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that b.m.'s are not as often on the program. I was not worried until day 5, but the consultants said it was the norm to only have one or two a week and then I found Andy's thread and read that and then I felt better about it. Day 6, b.m. came naturally..

I'm glad the first week went as well as it did. I forgot to mention that there were cookies and other goodies in the office lounge and all I did was smell them. They smelled so yummy but not one taste...even when a co-worker said that one bite is ok. I was not tempted at all to have any. I was pleased with the smell only. I told myself that someday in the future I could have one and be happy with a small amount and at that time I will be fit and it would be a choice I can make then. Right now my choice is to finish Cohen's without one cheat!
