Default Sandie's Diary

Thank you Asy.. I have been on the program for quite some time, but have not posted. I will admit to literally stalking the forum though. I am not much of a diary keeper. I have though visited the forum on a daily basis for a very long time. It has provided me with many answers and has kept me motivated throughout my journey. I have followed many of your journeys. Now that I have put fingers to keyboard, I may even find it easier to do the diary bit.

Wow Sandie

Welcome to the forum. You have been a dark horse. 55 kgs - go girl. Seems we had about the same to loose but I take my hat off to you. Much further along than me. Hopefully I shall follow well in your footsteps.

I am pleased you decided to chat and keep a diary. What did oyu start your Cohens journey. Me October last year.

Your photo looks very healthy! There is a glow in your eyes.

Looking forward to sharing the next part of the journey with you.

Shanara

Default Welcome Sandie

Hi Sandie,
Great to see you start a diary. I feel that you have deprived us of seeing your weight loss journey - You have done wonders. We have similar amounts to get to that low goal amount (but WOW you have lost heaps) so lets do this together and reach each goal with confidence.

Cheers
Rosemary

Thank you all for welcoming me.
Ah a little about myself, I am a wife, mother and grandmother of 5, who works fulltime. My journey with Cohens began around. I happened to watch faithy’s story. A big thank-you to FAITHY!!!! At this stage I had completed the process for lap-banding surgery. I did a search on Cohens and could believe it Darwin actually had a clinic. I made an appointment, put aside some initial concerns, cancelled my surgery and here I am, 55kg lighter.
I haven’t had too many ups and downs, probably easy to say now, because I’ve past them hehehe. It’s easy and it’s not, I just find staying focused makes it bearable. There is light at the end of the tunnel, there are more good days than bad and already I’ve had several new wardrobes.
I have read many diaries and have followed all of you in your journeys in the background. One thing that amazes me is my view on my goal weight. The good doctor has set it at 56kg. When I first started I thought NO WAY now it seems more like, hmmmm that’s reachable.
Asy – The forum, thank you sooooo much, my saviour can’t say much more than that.
Michelle – I’m going to try the diary thing, come on and join me.
Sharnara – Looking forward to sharing the remainder of my journey with you.
Rosemary – It’ll be great to have a reefed buddy, I hope can there together.
Moe – Thank you, faithy is my inspiration. No pressure to faithy!!
Maria – I think it time for a diary, earlier didn’t seem quite right for me. I now look forward to it and bring on the 60’s.
Let’s go girls !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Sandie,

Hey, welcome, Sandie - I'm glad you've decided to join us, and I look forward to sharing your successes as you slide down that "last third of the journey" (this is where it gets really exciting).

And only around 20Kg to go now... It must seem like a doddle compared to where you started - and you know it will happen too, 'cos it has been, yeah?

Hehe - I'm sure you'd have read Faithy's diary - she didn't join until she'd already lost ~50Kg. Are you two "two peas in a pod"?

Take care, and keep on rocking,

Koh

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

Red face New challenges for me

Thanks Koh, yep definately on the down hill run now. Slowing down a bit on the weight lose front but hey as I've said before "took me a while to put it on, it's not gunna fall off overnight'!! I'm a patient person and love a challenge. I'll be the winner in the end. I owe faithy sooooo much, she's amazing!

Last night I played my first games of Indoor volleyball. Loved it!!! I played with my daughter and nieces, did I show my age??? Hell yes, but had a ball, kept the other teams amused at least. I'll be back next week for sure.

My weight lose has slowed, why not sure following the program 100%. I haven't been in the 70's for a good 20 years!! I'm not stressing too much, letting my body do its stuff. I've been weighing pretty much daily and that is getting at me a bit, so decided this morning to only weigh on Mondays for the challenge, NO more than that.

Hoping everyone has a great Cohens day!

Hi Sandie!

Congrats on coming this far and losing 55kgs!! AWESOME achievement!
Cohen's is definitely a better alternative to lap-banding!!

Your losses can slow up when you reach the fat stores that have been there the longest, as they are harder to break down and shift, it takes a bit longer. As you know, though, with this programme, persistence pays, so stick with it and keep on keeping on! You are doing magnificently!!

Vee

Hi Sandie,

Great to see you are keeping up with the diary entries. Well done on your volleyball game.

I am a daily weigher as well and sometimes it is not to our advantage thats for sure but then I think it does inspire me more than not.

Good luck and I am sure those kilos will drop off when they are ready.

Cheers Rosemary

Hey Sandie - welcome and great to read about your success so far in your new diary. You are going so well and think Vee has a great point about reaching older fat stores and also I think it makes sense things will slow down the less we have to lose (body probably just trying to hold onto it more for survival reasons). The program works though so hang in there.

Indoor volleyball sounds like a hoot and how cool now that you can do it and enjoy it. Way to go!!

Cheers - Kay.

Default BOREDOM!!!

Thanks everyone for dropping by.

This week has brought a few challenges, work has been extremely quiet, so I've been a little bored and gee has that made me hungry. Usaully I don't have time to think about hunger, I usually have to make time to eat !!!! So the water intake has been upped which is helping a little bit. Six months ago, I would have argued that I ate when bored, this week has made me really think. As they say everything happens for a reason.

Loses are still down but am hoping that they will pick up soon. I would love to be finished my journey within 12 months.

I did get a laugh today, my 2 yr old grand daughter jumped on my lap and put her hands around my arm and said very seriously 'Mumma you got jelly in you arm' then quickly felt the other arm and said 'No you got jelly in two arms', I thought it was precious. YAY for tuck shop arms NOT!!!!

Happy fat burning to everyone..

Sandie
