Findingme's Diary,
I am a second timer(didn't do RF) etc, had life's downs pretty much but absolutely knew at the beginning of year it was time for me to contact Dr C again. So with new program & all time highest at of 103kgs, I knew I could do it, & I did, for the first 30 kgs anyway. I have been serial lurking on the forum though! I had health issues in July that really threw me. I had gotten to my lowest at of 68.4kgs, but with being sick, appetite problems, medication etc I could not continue on the plan. Did my head in too! 😅 I was able to maintain as still sticking to C's meals but since then I've been binge eating all my old comfort foods of milk & bread, late at night mind, which I know harms. So, after repeated attempts of finishing, I am back on, done 3 days & was 76.2 KGS. I know this means I'll be OP over Christmas, but this is my present to myself. I love getting smaller & my kids (3 of them,) love it too. And personally, my body likes it better when I eat Cohen's food. My Cohens goal is 61 - 58 KGS. Anyway, take care, this is just me putting it out there as an incentive to myself. Jen |

Even though the kiddies pizza was calling me relentlessly ( I usually cave then), I made it 100%
A big thank you to my son M, who kept reminding me, No Mum, you're on Cohen's. Come on zone, I'm waiting! D6 today |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Hi Findingme,
Good on you for staying strong !! For being so good, here's a wee gift for you:- http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5249 It is the very best topic on these pages in my opinion. It tells you of all the OTHER benefits that you will find (again?) once your journey is complete. Maybe you know them from before, and then again, maybe more have been added since you last looked. Oh, and a big High-five for your son, for helping you so much !! Koh

Re: Findingme's Diary,
OK, W1 over with. Last night was my undoing, night eating etc that I have struggled with. Mind you, 7 days has been the longest run, so I'll keep on going. The downside is that if I do night eat then the next 2 days seem to be write offs also for me, grrr.
Also, moved my scales from tiled bathroom floor (kind) to lino floor in kitchen ( mean), so it looks like I gained about 2 KGS, but I know I didn't 😊 Will move my ticker when the mean scales move below 75. Anyway, have a great day everyone. Just keep going, no matter what! Jen |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Hi Jen,
Can you move your scales back onto a tiled floor? See, they need an UNYIELDING surface to measure your weight accurately. Though a vinyl floor might "seem" hard, it is actually soft (I bet you could mark it by pushing on it with your thumbnail), so accuracy can't be guaranteed in that situation. Hope the zone comes your way soon ..... Koh

Re: Findingme's Diary,
OK, admission to make. I am going to go from serial lurker to annoying poster? instead.
Found today hard. Got some very bad news from a Mum at school, hits hard as her daughter & mine are good friends & she has helped me heaps. Has just left me feeling very fragile with everything as she is going to have a very challenging 9 months at least of treatment. I just feel so much for her. On a lighter note though I told my DD that I offered to make meals etc & she replied "Don't do that Mum, you put veggies in everything" Not really, but I try & only in savoury food of course! I was thinking though, if she can deal with this hanging over her head, then I can finish my C's journey , surely. I have to see my health & getting well, not just for me, but my beautiful 3, just as she will be viewing her ordeal, for her beautiful daughters. Sorry everyone! The news seems to have quite upset me, needed to share. It just seems this last push to get to goal is the hardest for me, I've been struggling, I know that if all have been well that I'd be in Maintenance now. I think I still have to realize I didn't fail, my health came first & now I can finish it. Give myself credit for what I did in my first 20plus weeks & use the same focus to get there. I do know I can succeed on the program, so keep going. Truly take care everyone Luv always Jen💖 |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Hi Jen,
I was saddened to read of your friend - sometimes life just seems so harsh, eh? And we (friends and relatives on the sidelines) can do nothing to help except to strive to be the best friend we can be for those in trouble as they fight their fight. Perhaps too, we can use their adversity as a way to minimise our own troubles? Surely, when others face such adversity, it gives us pause to consider "How good we have it, relatively speaking". Also it can goad us to "stay as healthy as we can in case they need us even more in future". Hard to consider but then, life can be cruel..... Your little daughter will be learning heaps over this too, Jen. I am sure her young friend will be very tender as her Mum's treatment progresses. There is nothing like a good friend in times like this, so I send my love to you and your daughter as you help your friends in every way you know how. Big hugs, Koh

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Just me,
Feeling good plan wise, crossing fingers that I am finally in the zone. Problem is, doing the weighing, packaging, cooking meals etc is second nature now & NOT where my difficulties lie. ( Although once there was this time I cooked chicken veg soup with psyllium husks, disgusting to say the least & I even traumatized my daughter who threw the sorry mess into the bin)😄 I am trying something different though, having my 1st fruit for afternoon tea & cracker too if I haven't used them for lunch & then C & 2nd fruit as supper. Earlier I was having them with lunch & dinner, but as I'm trying to eliminate my desire to night eat, I will see if this does make a difference. I had read in an old diary that having the C's a few hours after protein can be beneficial. Oh well, if not, the journey will still continue😊 I really hope this makes sense & that I am not boring people to death with my posts, any of them. Take care, Jen |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Just me,
Usual night eating, bingeing, but I know I have always eaten in times of emotional stress. No more excuses now, still going, as I am in no way planning on stopping. The thing is, I absolutely love my Cohens meals & snacks, so I know this is a lifestyle event really. Love reading peoples diaries, esp the once who have struggled yet overcome, finished, did RF & are now maintaining. Otherwise, all quiet here. Just looking forward to being 100%. Take care Jen |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Hi Jen
You are not alone...I am a stalker on this forum if you can call it that. Too lazy to start a diary. I started at 67.7...currently around 59 kgs. But it's taking extremely long to lose. The weight loss is slow. This is my 9th week and I have had one deviation last Sunday. Had to be Tom cravings....Also wanted to see if it in some way will boost my weight loss even if I gain this week as I have this nagging feeling that my metabolism has slowed a lot. Time will tell.... It honestly is challenging at this time of the year but hang in there. You definitely not alone. My goal weight is 51-53, so have a while to go for sure.... My best advice to you if you feel like deviating is to take a short walk. Moderate pace....Will release serotonin and endorphins and u won't feel like cheating anymore. Also, if u must cheat, choose Cohen's approved foods. I often take provitas, soften them with boiled water and sprinkle some sweetener on and I feel like I'm having biscuits with my tea. Satisfies the sweet tooth. Hugs F |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Thanks F, so nice to hear what others do & how they're managing. It makes it hard when things slow down also, grrr.
It really feels that the less I have to lose, the harder it is to stay 100%. I was DF my initial 30 kg loss. Just hope to get into the swing again real soon. My pharmacist came over to me for a chat, said I'm looking really good & asked how much I'd lost. I said 26, but more to go. He said don't take it too far!!! OMG, I am still overweight & feeling F & F. In all honestly, I couldn't take it too far, I love eating too much. So, thank you. I'll take it. I have read many posts from people experiencing the same frustrating thing. Have had a serious talk to myself & feel like my headspace is better. So as not to miss out on CMAs stuff, I think I'll do it in July with my kiddies next year. Looking back at last year, we really hardly ate the festive stuff anyway, I still have a pudding left in my cupboard! Take care everyone Jen |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Me again
Was 75kg this morning, moved scales back to bathroom as they were pretty depressing in the kitchen. ( even with a board on the lino). Will change my ticker on Monday s. Feeling good eating wise, love this. Must say, I NEVER want to need to be or be on a diet of any form ever again, even this. I genuinely hope I will have it down as a lifestyle. I am in here until I finish RF & beyond. I made this diary to document the last leg of my wt loss journey & I know I'm going to get there, feel more determined than ever now. Take care Jen |

Re: Findingme's Diary,
Hi Jen
You doing great. It's all in the mind. I often find that temptation hits me when I start to get hungry but once lunch is over, I feel good again. Obviously the festive season and holidays don't make it easier, but knowing that when everyone will be struggling with weight issues come January, we will be quite far. I've weighed in this morning and now 58.5 kg despite my cheat last Sunday. Still not sure whether it boosted my metabolism or not but at least I still lost. I have 5 kgs left....slowly but surely we can conquer this. Koh...ur wisdom and advice is priceless. So glad you haven't left us alone on this forum. Just wish the others would have also stayed. You have been a huge motivation. Can you perhaps direct me to diaries with people that had a total of 17 or less to lose. Will really appreciate it. Also what's ur thoughts on a single high carb meal after a few weeks to boost the metabolism and release leptin... I was on sure slim about 10 years ago and it's very similar to Cohen's. This high carb meal after a plateau was their advice...Any thoughts. |
