Default Tuna -- I'm confused

Guys, this is probably a stupid question, but canned tuna is...cooked? I honestly have no idea. I just suddenly thought about this and now rather suspect I've been eating more than my allowance really is the few times I've had tuna. Honestly, I know nothing about fish; about the only fish I ever eat is tuna out of a can and occasionally a nice piece of fresh blue cod. Which I am not allowed on this, boo. But yeah...er...canned tuna, what's up with that? I didn't even know there was a raw/cooked distinction in canned tuna...

As far as I am aware, ALL tinned tuna is cooked. It is an emergency standby for many. My understanding is it just has to be well drained before we weigh it, and while there is a raw/cooked difference in weight for other foods, is doesn't apply to the tuna, but I stand to be corrected.

It is definitely cooked and my understanding is that it is the drained weight you measure as Andrea said

I had an emergency hunt back through the forum and found a post that said because of the density of the meat, well-drained canned tuna can be weighed the same as fresh tuna. Thank God. I never even thought about it until today, for some reason; it said I could used canned tuna in my book, so I did. I love tuna. I'm very glad it seems to be okay!

(I'm so easily confused. Honestly, I was staring at the can for ten minutes thinking "How can you even TELL if it's cooked?" I'm such an idiot...)
