Pinetarsol baths and Sulogel over your spots. (both can be found at the chemist)
My 2 youngest had them in the middle of the year, both got them a few weeks before their scheduled immunisations. It is going around Newcastle also... a few kids at my daughters school have recently has them, and their parents also. Remember that scratching leads to scars. Also avoid direct sunlight as much as possible to avoid scarring. I hope you're feeling much better soon *hug* |

Hi Belinda
Poor you! I hope you get over the pox soon! My kids had it really badly (lots and lots of spots) and in desperation I put a little tea tree oil in their bath water. It was like magic! The spots cleared up in half the normal time and they stopped itching too. My theory is that tea tree oil is like an antiseptic so when the blisters popped the germs stopped spreading and reinfecting the skin thus shortening the duration of the chicken pox. If only I'd tried tea tree oil when my oldest 2 had chicken pox, before the youngest 2 were born! Just as an aside, we use tea tree oil on mozzie bites now because it helps stop the itching. Good luck and get well soon. Louise |

Well thank you all for your advice although the doctor says it is not a case of chicken pox...... it is a virus that is going around which has smaller spots then chicken pox and less of them..... feeling fine nad most of the spots have now gone....mmm back to work tommorrow... will definately go and buy some tea tree oil for the mozzie bites though as my ankle are always tasty for the mozzies....
