So what did you do? And is there a right or a wrong way to do this? |

before I started the diet i was drinking 2L water daily & having dinner by 7pm & gettign 8 hours sleep

i did a transition diet - limited the carbs and sugar intake, started eating more veggies, and like diva, did the 2L of water thing. made starting Cohen's easier. Don't recall going through really bad detox symptoms in the first week. good luck liz!

I ate 'normally' which really wasn't normal at all because my diet pre-cohens was pretty toxic... anyway I experienced no detox symptons when i first started but after 5 weeks on cohens I went out for dinner and had a non-cohen friendly meal (planned) well... 5 days of headaches and feeling like crap... was awful and Im suprised at myself of lasting through it and getting back on the bandwagon. I say just be sensible don't shoot yourself in the foot and go all out because you might just make it harder for yourself.

Hey Liz, I can totally relate, I am relatively new too and before i started i had my favourite meal of Indian and the few days before hand had an easter egg and other things i knew i wouldn't be able to have. It didn't make any difference to my start weight so I reckon maybe not go too overboard but definately have something a favourite meal or something before hand.

Welcome to Cohens and the forum. I had a healthscare a couple of weeks before starting Cohens so i immediately started eating sensibly and cut out all sugary foods. I can remember the clinic saying to me to eat all my fav things before i start. I didnt though. The only symptons i had...tiredness in the first week.Then nothing and i started to feel alive.Heaps more energy etc. Go well on your journey and i will catch you in a couple of weeks. Hi Liz,
I indulged in the things I would miss the most, and each time I had one of them I made sure I took my time and savoured every mouthful - it was like having a farewell party! I did start drinking 2L of water every day though and 2 days before starting I cleaned out my fridge, freezer and pantry of absolutely everything I was not allowed and gave it all away (hubby was almost in tears LOL!). Its all individual, just try to work out what would be best for you. For me it was important to "say goodbye" to some of my favourite foods, but for others it is more important to ease into it.
