A simple womans Diary
I am so pleased to have the support of this forum, I enjoy reading of all the ups downs and in betweens. I am now 6 days into my programme, I did start on a Friday which some of my family found a little odd, but I had my programme and was ready to start this journey. So far I feel great, not hungry, enjoying finding ways to make food tasty but at the sometime enjoying the feeling of fresh clean eating. I have yoyo'd now for more years than I can remember, I feel really good about this programme and the success stories are certainly motivating. I have a S$@#t load to loose and the goal weight set by Dr Cohen seems daunting at this point - I can't even imagine what I will look like at 65kg. Any way ill be frequenting the forum on a regular basis - week 1 weigh in tomorrow or should I wait for 4 weeks, Im not decided on that one Thanks for the support friends. First goal: Under 140kg

Re: A simple womans Diary
Hi simplewoman,
Good on you for getting going. This sounds like being a GREAT year for you. And if it seems like it is stretching ahead of you (like "this will take forever"...) keep in mind that this year is going to pass anyway. The main thing is where you will be by Christmastime? If you are in the zone, you will likely be bouncing off walls within just a few weeks. Read some of the diaries and you will see that this is true. Re your question ("Do I weigh tomorrow or should I wait for 4 weeks?") let me point you to this post from some years back:- http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8904 As you can see I am firmly in favour of confirmation of a "good start". If that is you too, then jump on them. As I say in that link - if you are going to break any rules, that one is the best one to break - don't break the eating rules.... Good to have you here, Koh

Re: A simple womans Diary
Thank you all for swinging by and the wonderful words of wisdom and support. Today I attended two meetings for work both with lovely spreads of food, so glad I took my apple and crackers, had a nice black coffee and wasn't tempted by the food on offer at all. Have decided I weigh in tomorrow morning and see what week one has done for me. Feeling good, feeling focused and on the right track.

Re: A simple womans Diary
Happy Friday to you and you will have a fantastic smile on your face today with good reason.
I too cancelled social events what I did the program years ago and it is something I really don't want to do this time round. What I have done in the past was pack my foods and take then with me then in still 100% and still being sociable, it's hard but it works. Have a lovely weekend 😉

Re: A simple womans Diary
Patting myself of the back for getting through the weekend without deviation, a birthday party, a family lunch at a restaurant, the Adele concert. I won't say it was easy but I did it because.i just want those scales to keep going down. Half way through week two now. Starting to feel like this way of eating is becoming normal. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Re: A simple womans Diary
Another week down for me, two weeks in total. I have had a really good week diet wise, health wise I have had a nasty cold all week which doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Friday weigh in and I am down 2.1kgs, so total of 7.2 all together. this makes me very happy I have really been powering through the water, sometimes the urgent need for the toilet is a bit of a pain but i just keep thinking every time I pee a little bit of fat is coming out. Have a great day every one

Have managed to get through another weekend, feeling very much in the zone and loving not being hungry at all. The diet sodas have been my saving grace today and yesterday. Going to keep away from the scales till Friday. We'll try to any way.

Re: A simple womans Diary
Hi Simplewoman
You are amazing, congrats on your fantastic weight loss. Have you measured yourself yeh?? I just finished my first week with a loss of 4.2 kgs and 18 cm. keep up the amazing work and I hope you are feeling better. I need to take a leaf out of your book and get the water into me, this is something I have always struggled with. Look forward to your next weigh in KazB

Hi there Harley Girl, thanks for the thumbs up, this is quite the journey we are on but it's feeling great and certainly manageable at the moment. I put on some pants today and they actually felt quite loose. I haven't measured myself which I know is not the recommended thing to do but I actually think I'll just feel it in my clothes. I'm really hopeless at measuring and never feel like I get accurate results. I drive about twenty minutes to work so from when I get up to when I get to work I try and get my first 1.5l of water in. So by 8.30 I have done half my days water intake, I don't love it but I just guzzle it down. Congratulations to you too on your great first week result. I find staying away from the scales hard... I'm hopeless!! If that's my only deviation I guess it's the less likely to affect what I'm doing. Have a good rest of the week, we are in for a wet few days as cyclone Debbie passes over. Re: A simple womans Diary
Hi SW!
Just got to catch up on your diary, solid work! Caution on the water guzzle first thing to. My consultant told me that water consumption needs to be spread out the day. If you drink alot too quickly, you worry about electrolyte shifts and effectiveness as a fat-flusher. If you arent a fan of water, maybe try some infused waters? As long as you dont eat/squeeze fruits or veggies that is in the water, it doesnt count to your allowance. Ive tried cucumber and mint infused water -- its delicious! Or I put a teabag (or two) and I just fill up my jug throughout the day. Hope cyclone Debbie didnt do much damage. Cheers, MM |

Re: A simple womans Diary
Well hi there
Haven't checked in for a week or so - end of school term hecticness took over. So far my cohens journey is going better than I thought it ever could. A friend of mine had gastric surgery and I'm actually loosing quicker than she did at the same time. I have just completed 4 weeks, done my blood tests and weigh in and so excited to be 11.4kg down. Gearing up for Easter and determined to stay on track !! Hope everyone is doing great too. |

Re: A simple womans Diary
Hi SW,
Quote:
I 'spect you might already be in the "zone" - are you? You sound like you are. Perhaps you might like to be the one who resurrects THIS thread:- http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5244 It is a poll showing how many Cohenites did in their first 4 weeks. And, not just you SW, but anyone who is reading here who hasn't yet voted on that poll are free to do so. If you go to that link, and you HAVE already voted, it won't let you vote again, so it won't "double up". So go check anyway. Back to you SW - I hope your next 4 weeks goes just as peacefully and gainfully (or should that be "lossfully" ) . You probably can't expect the great losses of "Month one" - but it is likely you will continue to tick along at better than 1Kg a week (most do, and some do even better than that, regular as clockwork). That's how people can shed as much as 80Kg+ in one year (by doing 6Kg a month and a bit better in month one). Main thing is stay as stressfree as possible and stick to the Plan, even if the weight doesn't seem to be going as quickly as you hoped. Worry will send you backward. Let's see how you go - you might even set the place on fire !! Koh
