Fashion and Beauty Forum
I am putting together my thread on Makeup and have a recent thread running on Grooming / Bathing Any chance of a Forum just for for Fashion and Beauty? We are all going from Frump to Fabulous - that means buying a whole new wardrobe (or a lot of safety pins) and will probably result in a new hairstyle / shaving off the beard, and some new skin care treatments - a bit of saggy skin needs different care than when it was stretched tight, dry heels need attention, our new faces will need new colours and new make up etc Rather than just let these important topics just get muddled up with the 'diet' threads, a separate forum might be a good idea We are all going to be Absolutely Fabulous and it would be great to have a particular spot to discuss these (very important) matters in Cheers Kristine |

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum?
good idea!
I actually have a fashion question (well i wouldn't call my work clothes fashionable). My work place has decided to give me a uniform, only problem is they want the measurements now for clothes that we will receive in like 2-3 months. So if anyone had a similar problem how did you go about with your measurements? or If anyone has like average cm loss guide (one can wish). I will admit I don't measure I just weigh and go from what I can and can't fit in as my guide. Thankx. |

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum?
Hi SP
Welcome to the Forum! Your ticker isn't giving away any hints as to where you are starting and where you will be ending up, just how much you have to lose But if you look at the Uniform supplier's size guide, you should be on the right track eg Neat 'n' Trim Uniforms http://www.nnt.com.au/ have a good size guide, and keep in mind your height as well I am 165cm tall. At goal weight of about 60 kilos I wear size 10 in formal clothes - NNT size 10 - and size 8 in stretch jeans (bit of a camel fit, but!) and size Small in stretchy and casual tops but for NNT work shirts 'slim fit' I really needed size 10 or better still, size 12 if there are buttons down the front. I have never had a shirt which buttons didn't gape! However, if you are 'Petite' - less than 5 foot tall, or are Ballerina height of eg 5'10", then your goal weight may be different When Asy bought a pair of size 10 pants (while still wearing size 24 or thereabouts) her Mother was incredulous - but yes, at the end of the program Asy fitted those size 10 pants very comfortably So a few more clues would be helpful, and also what manufacturer the uniforms will come from. When I worked at Bi-Lo the Yakka slim fits were a great fit across the shoulder and really easy to work in - supermarkets expect people to be bending and leaning and picking up etc whereas the NNT 'office' slim fit was much tighter all over and best suited to someone who eg stood all day, as those shirts really gaped when sitting. But NNT have superior cardigans, in fact I bought my Daughter (62 kilos, 5'7") 2 x NNT cardigans for general wear as they are really stylish, excellent quality and a very good fashion fit Hope this helps Kristine |

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum?
sorry, just updated my ticker now.
Currently 85.8kg (162cm tall) and its my 5th week on the program so i'm expecting it to slow down now. I guess if I had to pick i carry my weight more in the bust and thighs (and every where else). |

Yoh, thanks Koh and other Powers-That-Be!
We can be so focussed on the means that we forget about the end! Used to going about in mufti, when we emerge from the chrysalis we can be left blinking in the fashion sunlight! I shall watch this space with bated breath! Cheers Kristine |

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum?
Hi Kristine,
Just a thought - as you have already done with the "Grooming" thread, just start another thread (the Makeup one) and in the same section for now. At a later time, these can all be MOVED into their new home. So don't hold back waiting, eh? Sounds like your thoughts are very well received and help others to stay on track as they start looking their BEST !!! Koh

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum?
Well I'm on board too, I'm still wearing my maternity clothes.......I did only have a baby 3 months ago, but they're starting to look more like maternity clothes should, if you know what I mean, which is good, but it should be an interesting and informative discussion!!!
When I did Cohen's the first time and got to goal, i was down to a size 6-8 and I'm nowhere near that yet, still a 16 (oh what pregnancy's do to you!!!!!) so I will wait with baited breath to hear what we all have to say |

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum
Hi Everyone,
I am finding myself impulse shopping after no new clothes for ages! Stretchy comfy clothes like Metalicus and Mesop are a whole new world of layering I didn't know existed and really helps as they keep the infernal cold at bay (never felt so cold in my life!) but also hold the loose skin in place. Horrid to say, but true. It is such a funny and fun world, to go from buying clothes just because they fit to understanding what suits me... M

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum
This thread is a great idea.....going from large sized clothing , down to smaller and most likely closer fitting garments could be very daunting.
I'd most definitely start with good fitting undergarments ( you can get help with this at major department store lingerie fitters), then before shopping for new clothes, I'd take your existing larger garments to an alteration place, to see what can be taken in/ changed .".....whilst this can be expensive...it may be well worth it for more expensive items. This could be done to uniforms ( depending on design) too. Then you can sit down and work out a " wish list" of garments needed in your wardrobe .......or even consult a " personal shopper" at one of the major department stores.they can advise you on your body type and what will suit you, especially taking into consideration your work & lifestyle......... I think planning can save you money in the long run. |

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum
How can we manage in the work uniform if we are not comfortable in it ? Like if anyone weighs more that 100 kg pretty comfortable in loose clothes and suddenly there is compulsion that you have to wear a work uniform(trouser and shirt) which is not comfortable at all then what must an employee do?

Re: Fashion and Beauty Forum
This is indeed a very interesting thread about fashion and beauty. But I did not find any post related to makeup or haircare or even hair extensions services. Will there be any tips on these topics anytime soon here?
