Christmas in November. Doesn't that have a nice ring to it.

Who if any would appreciate having a get together somewhere family and cohens friendly in the month before things start to hot up for the festive season.

Where - I was thinking maybe in a park or at a theme park so that there was things for all to see and do.
This would also enable us to get group bookings.

Which state - This too is up for election. Maybe we could have one in each state closest to where most
people are then if there are people visiting interstate then they could attend a different one.

If we start thinking about this now maybe more of us will be organised and able to attend.

Let me know what your thoughts are.

well I am in - how about a bbq at South Bank (or some where central) for the Brisbane lot (or even a waterfront place would be nice) - we then can bring our food & stay on track regardless as to where we are on our journey - this way we can move around & talk to everyone rather than be stuck in one chair & not able to see (talk) to all who come We need to lock in a date as my calendar is filling fast - Great idea, I loved our get together we had earlier in the year & now I have lost more weight so I would love to show off my effects of my journey & talk about how we all go with every day living (pros & cons)

HEy, I'm just catching up with this thread, but I like the idea of Southbank, that way we can bring kids and throw them into the pools...

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback, sorry Debs, but WA is not in the middle of nowhere.

I will be visiting in the not too far distant future as our daughter is off to Perth on December 3 to do her Christmas stint in Northern WA and then will be finishing her degree in Perth so I'm really looking forward to coming over and visiting. Will let you know if you want to meet up. Anyway.....

I will be away from October 30 for a week or two so how about the mid weekend 17th or 18th say midday and Southbank sounds like the perfect spot.

See if this suits anyone, if not what does.

I am in for the Sunday 18 November 2007 @ SouthBank @ lunchtime As I have a neighbourhood watch meeting @ 4pm that day I will need to leave by 3pm

I would suggest that we met up at 11am - bring either BBQ or packed lunch (correct weights of course) & your family - it would be a great time for all - our support team will have other support teams there to talk about us (all the good things only about our journey & how proud they are of us !!)

Christmas is arriving very quickly now so we do need to lock this in ASAP so that all can attend here in Brisbane

Well everyone the 18 November is very close now – we need to get this up & going – can you please notify whether you will be attending (and how many, it would be great to meet partners as well)

Does anyone know where the best place would be to meet? - we need to make sure someone brings balloons or something that would make us stand out so we can all get together at the same spot – I am open for discussion here

I will be there with my partner – I will be bringing my chicken & salad & hubby will be having the same (but a bigger meal)

I can see Christmas coming fast now, but this year I am looking forward to it all, & with me being so much slimmer

I don't know Southbank very well so I hope you do and can offer suggestions on a place. At this stage my husband and I will be there and maybe our daughter.

Hope we get others though as it will be more like a family lunch than a Christmas party with just four or five.

Guys, I'm hoping to be there, too.

I'll have two kids in tow, and "Hubby #2". Hubby #1 can't make it, he'll be down at the farm, so I'm bringing my spare.

Now that you're all wondering...

Andrew's cousin, Mark, hangs out with us lots, and we (jokingly) call him my 'other hubby'. He usually comes to these sorts of things, and is great fun. I'll assume he'll come, too.

May I suggest that we meet on the embankment opposite the bridge between the two swimming pools (on the land side, not the river side). as attached.

I'm not 100% sure I can make it, but I'll try.

PS: Let's try to capture either the Gazebo or one of the BBQ's on the river side of the sandy beach. Suggestion is, whomever gets there first tries to set up house in one of these, and then leaves their family there guarding it, and comes to meet us all at the meeting place.

PPS: If you can think of a better meeting place, by all means pleeeeeeeease list it and I'll delete my idea!!!
