Smile Mango or other fruit smoothie or icecream

Mango or other fruit smoothie or icecream

Recipe Description
Yummy and filling smoothie especially for breakfast
Ingredients:
Mango, peach or apricot (allowance)
Yoghurt (allowance)
Ice cubes 6 or as many as you like (for smoothie)
Sweetener if desired
Preparation Steps:

Level of Difficulty:
Easy
Time Needed:
5 mins tops
Serves:
Instructions:
Put everything into a blender (preferably one that is happy with blending ice cubes! - mine is a Sunbeam made with glass not plastic) and blend until smooth.
Drink and enjoy!
Vary the number of ice cubes depending on how thick you like it. I like at least 6 to make it slurpy rather than needing to eat with a spoon, and even more can make a drink of around 500mls, so it's very yummy and very satisfying.
If you use your own frozen mango and no icecubes, it will be like soft serve icecream. Or just keep trying with more ice cubes until it's as thin as you like if you use the frozen mango for a smoothie.

Mmm, I am sooo LAZY when it comes to my yogurt...I just eat is as it comes... haha, no sweetener or fruit. I must have 3 or so blenders in multiple cupboards... do I use any of them?! Ever?? NO! haha... I might start trying these on the weekend.

Sounds yummmmmy!

This is my favourite. I have it for breakfast every morning during the week and LOVE it!! Thankfully here in London you can find mangos all year round.
I prepare 3 days worth at a time so i can just grab it out of the fridge & go. The only difference with mine is that instead of using sweetner (which i dont like) i use a dash of Diet Sprite.

Hi Denise,

Thank you so much for this recipe - it is DELISH! I'm not normally a big smoothie fan but I made this recipe for breakfast this morning with fresh mango and loved it. Plus I was so full and still am - I feel like I won't need to eat for the rest of the day!

Cheers,
miss_nat

I have this for breakfast most mornings, but I just use mango (preferrably overripe) and yoghurt. When I first started, it didn't seem sweet enough, but now it seems very sweet. Funny how our tastebuds change!

Had my first fruit smoothie this morning (usually do egg in the morning)
OH MY GOD it was sooooooooooooooooo good.
The first time I ate the Yo Plus I thought it was a bit weird tasting.
Now it tastes like heaven.
Its 2 hours later and I'm still thinking about the smoothie.
HaHa. This diet makes you love and appreciate food so much. I feel as though I have never eaten so well!

Glad you liked the recipe. I can buy frozen mango, already sliced, at the local markets in Darwin for a very reasonable price - and no additives! If you can't get these, then when mangoes are in season, simply slice them up and freeze in plastic containers, including all the little bits and pieces. Then when you are ready to use one, simply run a little cold water over the outside, pop out the block of mango, and cut it into cubes which you can use while they are still frozen if you have a sturdy blender.
